I follow Bernard literally daily. I am blessed by all of his teaching. I probably consume 2-3 hours a day while working. That being said, his perspective on the beard is quite a stretch. The Levitical priests were COMMANDED to not even trim their beard at all. This was a pleasing, masculine distinction unto God. If it’s good enough for the holiest of holies, but not for your platform, there might be a problem. Isaiah said that they plucked the beard off of Jesus‘s face. David told his mighty men to remain and wait until their beards were regrown before entering battle. The example Bernard gives of Joseph shaving, my goodness, what a stretch sir, all due respect. He was a slave in captivity, and the Egyptian custom was to shave all the hair off the head before going before Pharaoh. Egypt was ALWAYS likened to a type of the WORLD in scripture. I understand the argument that there was separation during the hippie movement, but the hippies have been gone for 60 years. I could use that same argument, and argue that having a full beard is not only godly and natural, but it would be a great way to be separate from the world and distinct as Apostolics. The majority of men DO NOT wear a full beard so it could be an act of consecration, as it was in Leviticus. Lastly, when it comes to a woman’s apparel, the church rightly says not to confirm to culture but to keep ancient biblical traditions. I agree. But you can’t say the opposite for beards. Essentially you say to abandon biblical culture and embrace modern American culture. This has become a tradition of men and a source of legalism. Stop it. God is well pleased by the natural beard HE GAVE to men, especially in a day and age where gender distinction is under attack. Bro. Bernard, as someone who studied the law, I hope you read this and reply. Please denounce this legalistic argument that has 0 biblical basis. I rest my case sir. God bless. 🧔🏻♂️ “When they told it unto David, he sent to meet them, because the men were greatly ashamed: and the king said, Tarry at Jericho until your beards be grown, and then return.” 2 Samuel 10:5 KJV
As a African American woman with short hair. I'm new to this teaching. I'm not disputing it and I want to please God. I'm torn because my hair grows better when it's curly permed and trimmed. Does anyone have any experience in how to handle split ends and not relaxing my hair?
Ive learned its not our job to defend the bible . Seek the truth on your own thru praying, fasting, Reading the bible and ask for understanding and you will know the truth. The Bible gives you the ways to live Holy. The Holt spirit will show you these things. We are to be set apart from the Worldly ways. If we cant be noticed as different ,we are living like the world. We are a people set apart.
It's a shame that the lighting is so terrible while Rev. Bernard speaks! What's up with that? What's up with the UPCI churches incorporating the "mood" lights? When did the UPCI suddenly need colored lights in the background of their pulpits? Could it be a worldly trend that needs to be addressed as well?
Touché Turtle at the time of this recording I was service as the production coordinator for the church. The reality of the situation was we had 8 stage lights go out the week before this service and simply didn’t have the lights operational. You’ll notice at about the 43 second mark he walks through one of the only functioning lights on the stage. Feel free to check out one of our recent videos for a reference!
At about 3:04, "It's not about the absolute attainment, it's about the pursuit (of holiness)". From the practical, or pragmatic, standpoint I can see how, at least subconsciously, this message is rejected so much by sinners is because it is basically saying, "Come, join me in this effort to be someone I will never be!" and, on a purely scriptural basis, there is nothing to support this "dream the impossible dream" approach to holiness. There is ONE who Holy & that is Jesus Christ, our Lord. When you put your faith in HIS holiness, He gives it to you & He does not take it back (see: I will never leave you nor forsake you). If, however, you are trusting in your own efficacy regarding holiness, you are in essence making the same statement those crying "Lord, Lord" did in Matthew 7:22, as they made a claim on Jesus in accordance w/ their work. NOT a good idea if you want to know Him, IMO.
Its a Choice, a Free will, Just like Accepting Jesus as our Lord and Saviour Hebrew 12:14 Without holiness no one will see the Lord 1 Peter 1:16 Be Holy for I am Holy. If you are really a Christian then Follow his word.
Pastor’s role is to teach the Word. It’s the Word that sets boundaries. We must be careful not to make up our well intended personal boundaries and teach then as the Word. We must only teach the Word and allow the Holy Spirit to do His job. Too often men, with good intentions, try to overstep their roles and try to do Gods job.
Listening to Oneness preachers is like listening to a broken record. It's always the same topic. One God, baptism, what type of clothes: dresses/pants, speaking in tongues, long hair
Sorry you feel that way. Not all oneness preachers are like that. A real person of God will reach for people no matter what they wear or how they look.... they will not try and place people in bonds. It isn't God will that anyone should perish. It is important to know who God is and when it is preached the right way it will give understand of God's Word.
Very poor answer about beards. Its of God to have beards he made them. Its NATURAL for men to have beards. Why not say womens dress is culture? And far worse is to teach God command to be perfect cannot be attained. And we will enter Heaven if we (pursue) but do not do not obtain holiness. Way off friends.
He’s already stated it’s a cultural issue and not a salvation issue. Over and over again in more than one video. Idk why ppl are so hung up on that topic. If you want a beard, have a beard.
I agree that there is no prohibition in scripture about beards. The scripture reference he gave are two important things to point out. Joseph was in Egypt and followed a pagan custom. In fact to go before Pharoah a person had to shave. Furthermore when Aaron was anointed for the purpose of service to God the oil ran down his beard. Jesus wore a beard and they plucked the hair on His face.
Cost? It doesn’t cost a dime to be a minister. Idk where you get this assumption. The tithe is a biblical principle which we see all throughout Scripture. 10% or “the tenth”. Besides, I’d rather see my pastor drive a nice vehicle than have to walk to service every day. I’m a lower-mid class American myself, and I have absolutely no issue with the blessings and favor of God that He bestows upon my pastor. I know some wouldn’t agree or don’t see it the way I do, but everyone has to eat at the end of the day.

Does anyone know if there’s a video or written message from him addressing “do non believing “good people” go to heaven”

That’s interesting how many have you listen to on line or in person?
Allen Parr debunked oneness belief
It was all straw manning and Unconscious Bias.
Of course in the eye of trinitarian Oneness is Heretical, but in the Eye of the Bible Trinity is a false doctrine.
So y do some apostolic churches cover their head.

His teaching about beads is nonsense. God gave men facial hair. If he has an issue with it he should take it up with God.
