I am Blessed to be part of an APOSTOLIC CHURCH teaching apostolic doctrine😇🙏 I am blessed to be a member of United Pentecostal Church Philippines, since 2015😇🙏
The thing that makes Dr. Bernards presentation more convincing to me is the fact that he is careful to not use any terms or definitions that are not Biblically-based, whereas Dr. Carpenter uses many terms and phrases that are not fond anywhere in the Bible. We should always be Biblically-based, not tradition-based!!
PSA: “oneness” is an extra-biblical term not being found in holy scripture (But that doesnt necessarily make it completely wrong, like the Trinity). Also, teaching against all forms of alcohol use, jewelry, make-up, facial hair, modern clothing, and mandating so-called arbitrary standards of holiness are all man-made extra-biblical traditions imposed by Oneness Pentecostals on scripture and then their congregations.
@@danieldefoncethat's not true brother. Both Paul and Peter talk on women not focusing on the outward appearance but on the inner man with a gentle spirit. Alcohol is wholly unacceptable for Christians. Jesus did not make alcoholic wine nor did he drink alcoholic wine for the Lord's supper. Be careful believing Jesus drank or supporting drinking alcohol. If on the Passover he ate unleavened bread, why would he drink leavened / fermented wine? Jesus did not drink alcohol. Wine spoke of in biblical times was grape juice. There was also alcoholic wine but I have a hard time believing my Lord ever defiled himself with that when drunkenness is so clearly condemned. Some people get drunk off literally one glass of wine. As soon as alcohol enters your blood stream you are intoxicated. My Lord was without spot or blemish. I don't know about yours ...
@@JackPickford-sv4hz In New Testament times, the water was not very clean. Without modern sanitation, the water was often filled with bacteria, viruses, and all kinds of contaminants. As a result, people often drank wine because it was far less likely to be contaminated. In 1 Timothy 5:23, Paul instructed Timothy to stop drinking water exclusively (which was probably causing his stomach problems) and instead drink wine. In that day, wine was fermented (containing alcohol), but not necessarily to the degree it is today. It is incorrect to say that it was grape juice, but it is also incorrect to say that it was the same thing as the wine commonly used today. Again, Scripture does not forbid Christians from drinking beer, wine, or any other drink containing alcohol. Alcohol is not, in and of itself, tainted by sin. It is drunkenness and addiction to alcohol that a Christian must absolutely refrain from (Ephesians 5:18; 1 Corinthians 6:12). Consumption of small quantities of alcohol is a matter of Christian freedom.

Probably one of the best debates I've heard on the Godhead. Dr Carpenter is a credit to his side of the aisle as he was thorough, prepared and most of all, respectful. Some debates in the past have had a disrespectful tone with words like "cultish" being thrown around.
Thank you, Jesus, for showing me the absolute truth of Gods oneness and Jesus being all the fulness of the Godhead i came out of the 6 different trinitarian churches in the first year and a half of my search for truth. That was 38 years ago I've learned that the Trinitarian Doctrine was instituted by the catholic church with was the first church I left only to learn that all the other churches I experienced had the same false teaching of the Trinity. The Catholic Church recognizes these churches that believe their Doctrine of the Trinity and Considers them "AS A SEPARATED BRETHREN" Their only explanation was always the same...Its a mystery... and their non scriptural terminology is baffling. My prayer is that all Gods children come to the knowledge of Truth!
Of all Trinitarian debates, this Trinitarian did a heck of a good job. Only one problem, he focuses on the positive history of the trinitarians and not on the negative, of course. Early church fathers brought the trinity teaching from the streets of Rome. The nature of Jesus was lost after many Oneness believers were executed by the emperor. He says there was no history of Oneness which is a lie. Oneness was always followed even through the days of Jesus. Jesus said, "There is only One God only who is the Father Only." C'mon Trinitarians! Wake up!
I live in England UK, I am reading Dr Bernards book ONENESS. I have been baptised at the Elim Pentecostal Church, never spoken in tongues but I Consider myself born again. I feel drawn towards Oneness however its very difficult to find a UPCI church in the area I live. But I do enjoy listening and watching Dr Bernard and the UPCI. I also enjoy watching Jeff Arnold and Lee Stoneking. Thanks for the You tube videos and God bless you. Gary.
You are drawn toward Oneness because the LORD our GOD is ONE LORD, JESUS is the Name of our LORD... And JESUS said "if I be lifted up, I will DRAW All Men unto ME" Just keep on following JESUS Only, my Brother In JESUS Name!
Just want to encourage you brother that you're on the right path, I myself live in the UK and if you are still finding it difficult to find a UPC assembly you could also try to look for an Apostolic church or PAW church that believes in the One God in Christ. God bless you.
As usual, you put forth the oneness of God with great precision! Like a skilled and gifted surgeon with a scalpel! Even though I've listened to it at least four times it still sharpens and blesses me!
@@TheGeovany7 I thought they believe that Jesus is God and the passage you referred to says that you are Antichrist if you deny the father and son. If you deny the son you do not have the father: but he that acknowledges the son has the father. To acknowledge the father and son means you believe in the invisible God ( the father ) and the visible God (Jesus) who is one with the father. The final statement of Bishop Bernard was beautifully said and it brought into this important subject the culmination that Jesus is and always will be the eternal God preached unto this final generation, the salvation of all mankind. Apart from all the discussions and the theological debates about the divinity of Christ we are reminded that the preaching of the cross transcends all these wonderful dialogs and the power of his word is ultimately what really counts.
Dr David Bernard, speaks always the same way and say always the same thing from the first time he spoke publicly and until now. It means his teachings will not know evolution or change away from the bible but will remain the same even after 3000 year, which is interesting and make us thinking that "God really never change". Our way of thinking change according to our knowledge, but the Truth about God will always remain the same forever. Zachariah 12:10 Praise The Lord, The Word of God is Holy. Dr David Bernard speaks only the bible and repeat only what is in there, as if it is the only knowledge he has and it is easy to understand when he speaks because all are already in our knowledge and we don't have to find somewhere else. The Kingdom of God is really within us. Thank you Dr Bernard, through you, I realize I don't have to go to the university and spend 2 or 3 years or follow seminaries to understand who God is. Jesus is God, and The Only One.
I must admit that this was the best debate I have listened to over the past year... Thank you to both sides. Both sides have proved to be civil. I do want to add that I appreciated Dr Carpenter's prayer at the end. We surely do serve the same God, Jesus Christ. There is One God only: that, we will NOT compromise. To the trinitarians I say, get rid of the 3 'persons' and we will be much closer than you think. Jesus is the revelation of God, we do not compromise on His name. Remember, God is Spirit and Jesus is the express image of the eternal Spirit, the supreme God. We cannot add nor take away from the One true God...
U say do not add or take away but u obviously deny john 3 16 in which the Son is sent by Father. Jesus confirms it and says he was sent. U simply cannot be sent if you are the same person
John Arevalo - how did Mary become pregnant? Gods seed was needed - Jesus the man is the literal son of God. When Jesus was talking to Nicodemus he spoke plural like in Genesis 1:26. Jesus said that he was in heaven while he was talking to Nicodemus on Earth. That’s because Jesus is the ONE true God. John 3:10-13 10 Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things? 11 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, WE speak that WE do know, and testify that WE have seen; and ye receive not OUR witness. 12 If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things? 13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man WHICH IS IN HEAVEN. Jesus said that the thief on the cross would be in paradise with Jesus yet we know that Jesus went to hell for 3 days. That’s because Jesus is God and he was in both places at the same time.
"Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God." Matthew 4:7 KJV. Even Satan was reminded that he was tempting One God.
When God says let us make man in our image, he must be speaking to one like himself. Because we are not made in the image of angels. We are made in the image of God. So there must be God and his son

WHATSOEVER you do in word or deed...do ALL in the name of Jesus. It's all about him!
I totally agree with you. It's because of the anointing of the Holly spirit Because is not enough to know about God. A person may know lots of Bible verses and still fail as a Bible teacher. Thank God for anointed ones like Brother Bernard and others like him
My question is: Who wins the debate? and who's proposition is truth and consistent to believe in? I love the teaching of Dr. Bernard because it has more sense to listened to, than to the other one who could hardly explain some questions being asked to him.
The debate won by This verses: Deuteronomy 6:4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD: Deuteronomy 32:39 See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand. Isaiah 44:6 Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God. Isaiah 44:8 Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it? ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any.
The start of this whole issue was when they separated the Word from God. That's why the apostle John was inspired by the Holy Ghost, to start his epistle of John 1v1: In the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the word was God. That's why it took 400 years to design the trinity doctrine, because they separated God and His word. That is where everything went wrong. Instead of going back to the "default" of the Lord our God is one Lord, they divided God into a trinity. I say it is idolatry, as God said you shall worship me alone and I'm a jealous God. Jesus is God, that's it. There is nothing else to it. Give Jesus the preeminence, as the supreme, eternal, sovereign God. What's so hard to understand about that? "If" there are 3 persons in the Godhead, who will get the bride then? Think about it. There is only one husbandman, our Lord and great God and Saviour, Jesus Christ. The eternal Spirit of God dwells in Jesus Christ forever and ever. One God on the throne and He will have His bride, amen. Glory to Jesus, the eternal God.

Wow. Great presentation. Brother Bernard speaks so well to exhibit his points of scripture. I find it interesting how Dr. Carpenter continually emphasized that Jesus and the Father are"separate beings". I also enjoyed how Dr. Carpenter used church fathers works after the apostles as authoritative in proving his points. If only James White would agree to participating in a setting like this.
Carpenter's points about what Polycarp taught was incorrect. Polycarp and Ignatius, along with many others before Tertullian taught oneness, not a trinity. If you research the writings of many that suppoted the trinity, also taught many strange things, like Origen. Martin Luther was a Anti-Semite, and wrote a 65 page letter on how to destroy the Jews, which is what Hitler followed. The non Christian Constantine made the doctrine of the Trinity law, not God. The Recently converted pagan Roman's liked the three god doctrine, which became the Catholic Church. We can see the sin that has followed that Church.
@@hargisP2 thank you. I'd like to research these topics. They're interesting to hear about. I don't think any works written after the inspired writings of the apostles should be considered to have valid doctrine, which is why I find it interesting that Dr. Carpenter referenced them. Thank you for the pointers on these men and what strange views they held. I would like to look into them. I believe God is one, not triune. James White had a debate with Brother Bernard before, but it was on a narrow topic on a radio show that restricted Oneness or trinitarian views from being expressed more freely. It would be interesting to see James White participate in a more open discussion with Brother Bernard similar to this audio. Brother Bernard presents his views with scriptures so eloquently and clearly, but yet trinitarians brush off the truth to stick to their traditional nonscriptural ways.

Carefully read these scriptures from the KJV. Let’s look at the use of the word “GREAT CITY’ in the Book of Revelation. Revelation 21 is the last time that GREAT CITY is used and it is HOLY JERUSALEM. Revelation 21:10 And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that GREAT CITY, the holy JERUSALEM, descending out of heaven from God, GREAT CITY is first used in Revelation 11:8 where the bodies of the two witnesses will lie in the street… Revelation 11:8 And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the GREAT CITY, which spiritually is called SODOM and EGYPT, where also our LORD was CRUCIFIED. @@Bolagh Well, that depends on the person you're speaking with. There are a lot of trinitarians who exclusively use the Bible (incorrectly, of course). The problem with the philosophical types is that route doesn't work either. Every version of the Trinity runs into a logical contradictions even if you grant their definitions. On their own terms, the doctrine cancels itself.
That rebuttal after Mr. Bernard explaining why Jesus prayed, “take this cup away from me but not my will”... by mr. Carpenter did not make ANY sense whatsoever. It sounded like he was agreeing that God is One. He literally said God is One person. Smh
Why is it so difficult to obey the baptism in Jesus name? Jesus saved us, Jesus died for us, Jesus's name heals. Devils flee because of the name of Jesus. We can't chase devils out in the name of the Father, and of the son and of the Spirit... (with all reverence). Only by invoking the name of Jesus, devils flee, sickness leaves, depression goes etc. There is power only in the name of Jesus. What is so difficult about acknowledging that? Why do we resist God's Spirit? Lord Jesus, unite us by your Word and Spirit. In Jesus name I pray. Let us give glory to God, by being obedient to your written Word...
Why do you believe in a formula for anything? The only thing necessary for salvation is through faith. You gets saved before you get baptized, never the reverse. Formula for anything is man's tradition. You have fallen from grace
miguel lopes rojas if you have true faith you will believe every word of Jesus Christ. If you have faith in Jesus Christ you will be baptized. People did not argue about this until the trinity doctrine started to be developed.
I "most" convinced to the Oneness speaker, Dr. Bernard. His claims supported with verses which is too strong, empowered by the word of God. The second speaker demonstrated perofessionalism but I observed less verses he caught from the bible regarding his claims, which made me think if he speaks philosophy based or bible based. The UPC bathed the Trinitarian with verses. I'm saying they are both professional, knowlegable and prepared. However you can see the difference. Whatever! God is God. You cannot describe how great He is. All glory to God. See you all in heaven brethrens! Hallelujuah!
I'm confused on the Trinitarain view on Colosians 2:9. If they believe that, as the verse says, all the fullness of the Godhead is in Jesus, then why do they say that the Father cannot be the Son who cannot be the Holy Spirit? Jesus is all the fullness of the Godhead, not just one "person" of God!!!
Jeremiah 8:7-9 "Yea, the stork in the heaven knoweth her appointed times; and the turtle and the crane and the swallow observe the time of their coming; but my people know not the judgment of the LORD. How do ye say, We are wise, and the law of the Lord is with us? Lo, certainly in vain made he it; the pen of the scribes is in vain. The wise men are ashamed, they are dismayed and taken: lo, they have rejected the word of the LORD; and what wisdom is in them."

If they truly believed in only in Scripture there are many things both individuals would believe. But many follow doctrines of men that were never taught by the Apostles.
This was and is a great debate. God is one!! In math, 1 never has three coequals. The quotient is impossible, incomplete and nameless. Just saying. Romans 1:19-23
God is one times one times one. It is a mystery but that is how he exists. The ancient Jews believed this. They didn't have the knowledge we had because the Metetron hadn't appeared yet. This is the middle pillar or the Son
The comment about us as human beings, being made in the image of God. Indeed. And my heart, emotions, feelings, desires, are not always in agreement with my thoughts. There are at times battles going on between them. Such as a feeling of deep attraction to another human that I know is out of bonds for me as I am married. And yet in the Godhead, they are, at all times, in agreement with each other. Praise God, my Father and my Lord Jesus the Christ.
Misquote of scripture. It is the one that denies that Jesus is the Christ Denies the Father and the Son. He who has the Son has the Father also. Isaiah 9:6 tells us that Jesus will be called the everlasting Father, almighty God, counselor, and prince of peace. Was Isaiah lying? NO. That passage is really saying that the Father, and Jesus are the same person.

I think Bernard clearly wins the biblical case for the Oneness of God. However I think that it is something that must be spiritually revealed and that's where the Oneness of the Holy Spirit and of Jesus and the father are important in bringing forth the truth of this Oneness. I do think that even multiple baptisms in water and saying that someone must be to speak in tongues the moment they are baptized is adding to the scripture and I think it defeats an otherwise strong position. Acts 2:38 says repent and be baptized and receive the Holy Spirit it doesn't say speak in tongues. I received the Holy Spirit after the laying on of hands and after baptism on April 12th 1970 and I found over the subsequent 50 years that the holy spirit is a much better guide to the truth in Christ no matter how eloquent men maybe or how many letters they've got piled up after their names. It tends to be that men tend to go toward the traditions of men and this is never going to be as good as direct guidance by the Holy Spirit who is Christ in you the hope of glory who is also the father.
Although, I am an Oneness believer, not all teach the same concepts. Yes, I believe in water baptism in Jesus name - but unlike brother Bernard, I don't associate water baptism with salvation. Farther more, although tongues is needed in the Body of Christ, I don't associate tongues as basis of salvation nor being filled with the Spirit (this I disagree with Pentecostal churches).
In an open and honest discussion we "must" be honest about what we believe and share our views without pride. I see this done in this formal discussion. Being Apostolic, we must answer questions that "appear" to show persons in the divine nature of God. If it can't be explained (because there must be revelation) we who are Oneness must state that truth. We can not explain a revelation! In John 14 Jesus says He will reveal who He is when we love Him in keeping His commandments. Again: Luke 24:45 Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, We can't answer every "HOW" when it comes to God being who He is. The triune god theory is correctly explained by the trinity doctrine. But, this triune persons view is not stated by God to be Who He Is. Is there ANY text of Holy Scripture where we humans are instructed by God to refere to Him in the plural? If there is, please respond. I have only found we humans referencing the God of the Bible in the singular. He/Him/His/You/Your/Your's We NEVER find in the Bible.... Ya'll/theirs/they/them. This fact is self explanatory that their is only the one person of God. So if it "appears" to be more than one person, we must let scripture speak of why we must believe in one God even when we can't understand why it looks like persons.
Although I agree that we are obligated to explain all points of Scripture, the doctrine of the Trinity (DT) doesn't even get off the ground. It is disqualified on its face from being a viable template for biblical interpretation because it is, in all its forms, inherently contradictory. I no more have to open my Bible to refute the Trinity than I do to refute the concept of married bachelors. A logical contradiction is false on its face. How does one biblically analyze a concept that cancels itself?
@@davidcoleman5860 Agreed 👍 I'm saying answer questions in regards to the truth and the God of the Bible. It is pointless to "try" and answer through Scripture questions regarding the triune god theory and it's trinity doctrine. Totally unrelated to the God of Scripture and His Revelation in Jesus Christ His Son. It's like researching who did what in a true to to life story - vs - who did what in a fictional story. The written account of the fictional story can be retold truthfully but being it's fictional to start with, it's still a lie told truthfully 😅😂🤣 That's the definition of an oxymoron!
John 20:22 "And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:" So, the breath of Jesus was the breath of God, aka the Holy Spirit.

Oneness Biblical Arguments to Show that Jesus is the Father Isaiah 9:6: "For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government is upon his shoulder; and his name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." Dr. David Bernard, the most prominent theologian of the United Pentecostal Church, in his book "The Oneness of God", says that Jesus is the Father because "Father" is one of the names assigned to Jesus in this prophecy. He commits the "fallacy of equivocation" (ignoring that the same word can have several meanings) because the word "Father" has several meanings. For example: My daughters call me "father." Does that mean that I am God the Father? Of course not! Likewise, just because Jesus Christ is called "Father" in Isaiah 9:6, it does not necessarily mean that Jesus is the Father. As I said earlier, the name "Father" can have several meanings. In the context of Isaiah 9:6, Jesus is called "Father" in the sense of being the Origin or Source of eternal life (in other words, of Salvation). He is the one who gives Eternal Life - John 6:27 What is prophesied here is the redemptive work of the Messiah. It is not enough to cite Isaiah 9:6 as "PROOF TEXT" and then continue along the way very casually as if they had proven that Jesus is the Father. fallacy of equivocation - explain Other scholars say that "Eternal Father is an idiomatic expression that describes the Messiah's relationship with time - not with the other persons of the Trinity. - It means that he has always existed. .- Abi-Ad = Eternal Father (Isa. 9:6) .- Abi - Albón - 2 Samuel 23:31: Father of Strength / strong. (nothing to do with being a father). .- Abigail - Father of exaltation - 1 Chron. 2:16 - Abigail was a woman - nothing to do with being a father. .- Abijasaph - Ex. 6:24 - Father of the collection - collector - nothing to do with being a father. John 5:43: "I have come in my Father's name, and you do not receive me; if another comes in his own name, him you will receive." Dr. Bernard uses this passage to prove that "Father" is just another name, or one of the names of Jesus. Bernard states: "It is important to note that the name of the Father is Jesus, because this name fully reveals and expresses the Father. In John 5:43, Jesus said: "I have come in the name of my Father, and you do not receive me; If another comes in his own name, him you will receive." Refutation: If the phrase "come in the name of" means that you are the person in whose name you come, then we are all in trouble. Today it doesn't mean that. At the time Jesus spoke it didn't mean that either. Let's read 1 Samuel 17:45: "Then David said to the Philistine, 'You come to me with sword and spear and javelin; but I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, to whom you you have provoked." According to Bernard's reasoning the name David, or we can say David is, Jehovah of hosts, or "the God of the armies of Israel." Of course the phrase "in my Father's name" means "by the authority of my Father." Jesus spoke and did things in and with the authority of the Father. John 10:30: "I and the Father are one" This verse clearly shows the ontological relationship between the Father and the Son. They both have the same nature. This verse is far from proving that the Father and Jesus are the same person. On the contrary, this verse. It is evidence to show the error of the unitarian (modalist) position. Greek grammarians point out that the word "one" (hen) is not the word that modalists would actually expect to find. We have two persons here in the masculine (the Father and the Son), so if John had meant that the Father and the Son are one person, he would have used the word "one" in the masculine Greek. But John uses "hen", which is neuter ("we are the same" would be a more literal translation) - therefore Jesus is saying: "The Father and I are one and the same", i.e., the same nature. *** we are: "esmen" - plural - It does not say "I and the Father are one." This passage is, then, an antidote across the centuries to counter Arianism on the one hand, and modalism on the other. The verse points out the diversity or plurality of people and the unity in the essence or nature. "I and the Father" - two people "we are" - again expressed plurality. These two people never become one person. Jesus does not say "We are a person", but we are a substance, nature, we are ontologically equal. This removes the stigma of Sabellianism, which denies the diversity of people. Philippians 2:9-11: "Therefore God also highly exalted him and gave him the name that is above every name, 2:10 so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow of those who are in the heaven, and in the earth, and under the earth; 2:11 and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." On the surface yes but, considering that God existed as a spirit throughout all time, and HE is _literally_ the only One who could save us, it makes sense that HE would send Himself. I believe if you look at Isaiah 55:11, as well as many other scriptures of the Old Testament, you will see that is what He's talking about. As a matter of fact Jesus Christ rebuked the Pharisees for being cherry pickers. They favored some of God’s laws more than others, and they added their own twist to things. This is exactly what denominations are doing today. Denominations are the modern day Pharisees. Jesus wasn’t upset with the Pharisees for trying to keep God’s law. Act 7:54-59 can't be answered by Dr Carpenter because he is saying that Stephen saw TWO GODS and chose Jesus,. So is Jesus mightier than the other "Person" God? This is why Trinitarian philosophy is dangerous because as we know in Genesis God is a Spirit, not a Person. Stephen saw Jesus in his glory and power, as he never seen him before while he ministered on earth,.The right hand means power as Dr Bernard conveyed and yes it's in the bible scriptures expressing the right hand of God as power because God is a spirit and he is invisible. So why did Stephen say Lord Jesus receive my spirit, and why not ask God or both? Two Gods in Dr. Carpenter's trinity perspective on the these verses are DANGEROUS AND PAGAN!!. Act7;:54-59 54 When they heard these things, they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed on him with their teeth. 55 But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God, 56 And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God. 57 Then they cried out with a loud voice, and stopped their ears, and ran upon him with one accord, 58 And cast him out of the city, and stoned him: and the witnesses laid down their clothes at a young man's feet, whose name was Saul. 59 And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.
God swore by HIMself & continues to do so, He came here in physical form to show us that HE is the ONE who does bear witness of Himself. That is why HE said, "If you had known me you had also known my Father". If knowing HIM is knowing the Father, that means He IS the Father. If. He were two different people it would be possible to know one YET, not know the other, but that is not possible therefore, Jesus is the human form of God the Father.
Because GOD came in human flesh to fulfill the Law and the Prophets (Matthew 5:17). As human HE will have to do according to all what were written about HIM (Luke 24:44).
If the Trinity is not God, then why does the Apostles almost in all of their writings open up addressing the letters with God the Father (and) our Lord Jesus Christ??why is all 3 consistently mentioned throughout the NT, not just Jesus??
Dr. Bernard addresses this question in Episode 84 "How to Oneness Pentecostals Explain Paul's Greetings?" (ruclips.net/video/CwqlmVBkj00/видео.html). (Podcast Production Team)
Oh dear, the same Apostles Baptized the people no other name but in the name of Lord Jesus Christ! Amen! God created man in His own Image! Are you one man or three persons in you! God is spirit! So how can we separate Him as three!!
Like Mr. Bernard I do believe that The Lord JESUS CHRIST is The Biblical GOD and there is no god but CHRIST JESUS. But unlike Mr. Bernard, I do believe in concept of Trinity. It explain the omnipresence of The Biblical GOD like in Numbers 11:25. The 3 persons One God which some Trinitarians believe refers to the Body, Soul and Spirit of GOD (Genesis 2:7) which Adam was created in the image and likeness (Genesis 1:27, Genesis 2:7).
You are correct when you say that "some" trinitarians believe that the three persons of the Godhead are one God akin to the human composition of body, soul and spirit. However, such a construct is abjured by the vast majority of trinitarian scholars for the obvious reason that if each person is part of the whole, and if the whole is God, then each person cannot be God by definition, only partially so. That makes both the part and the whole dependent beings. Thus, the inherent contradictions are manifest: Each person is/isn't God and God is dependent/not dependent. No other trinitarian approach is able to resolve the contradictions that emerge once the approach is defined.
Bernard didn't win this debate! He contradicted himself. He stated in John 10:30 that the Father and Son are one. However, in 17:3 ,it's the one true God and Jesus Christ. That's two distinct entities.
Not buying the UPC line. I would have to believe that for almost 2000 years nobody ever got saved until 1914. That is the year they appeared on the scene. Acts 2:38 was not preached to Gentiles. It was preached to Jews. Acts chapter 10 is when the Gentiles are brought in and everything changes.
Both Trinitarians and Oneness are saved. Trinitarians and Oneness both believe Jesus, the Father, and Holy Spirit is God. God will reveal the truth at the end.
Modalists' jesus prayed to himself, glorified himself, sits at his right hand and grab the book from himself. He also told to himself that he is well pleased of himself. Modalists' jesus is not the jesus of the bible. Repent!
Human nature praying for strength/ just like we do. That verse of grabbing the book is most likely all metaphors considering its revelation. Also, if the Trinity is real and God is all 3 persons of a trinity as well as himself seen in the diagram of explanation a lot of times used.. It makes 4. Right hand of God was a figure of speech look into it. I'm open to both views.
How long the Christian can’t understand God, If the doctrine of trinity is true as they taught , they’re distinct, that mean they have three Spirit. God the SPIRIT =FATHER. God the SPIRIT =SON. God the SPIRIT =HOLY CHOST. This doctrine is not supporting by the Scriptures. When you talking about church father are trinitarian is nonsense, you cannot see you make God three distinct SPIRIT and then you don’t believe the SPIRIT SON and the SPIRIT GHOST are subordinate to the SPIRIT FATHER, well we end up with wrong God not the God of Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and there seed . The God that Moses received the law from were three distinct persons? So if our God distinctions, we don’t have the God of the Jews as Christ taught (John:4:22-24) plus this question the SON Born first in heaven and born to be a man by the power of the distinct persons , can you see that we created more heresy, by believe that we were spirit being before we were born, and we were not spirit before, because our parents produced us and God power, and I can go back to the beginning and hearing the voice of God uttered “Let us make man in our image and our likeness “hope you believe he is Alone , and he both Lord and Christ, amen. God bless.
Jesus is not part of a trinity. Jesus is not the Father. Jesus is the son of God. Jesus HAS a God RIGHT NOW. Don’t be fooled by either of these doctrines. I’m not a JW, Jesus is a man, exalted above ALL, and has been given ALL things except for God himself. God has appointed a day in which He will judge the world by a MAN. Please don’t believe these doctrines, they add to the Bible
GOD is The Truth (John 14:6). You should not believe in a lie believing for God so loved the world that God sent somebody else his son to suffer and die so mankind will be saved. That's cruelty. That is not love. Love is John 15:13 and GOD is The Good Shepherd (Psalm 23:1) who laid down HIS life for the sheep (John 10:11) fulfilling Ezekiel 34:11,12.
@@PrintOfLife I have a son. I love him BEYOND measure. He is my joy, and my life. If I knew I could send him as an example to the world of how someone should act toward me (if I was their maker) and also to pay for their sins once and for all, and if I knew I could raise him from the dead, and sit him at my right hand, and set him over EVERYTHING and give all my judgement to him, I would not consider that cruel. I would certainly send him, though with pain in my heart until I could finally raise him up and glorify him next to me
@@Josiah_Wright You do not think it is cruel sending your son to bear your sins and the sins of others because your moral Law is consistent with the moral standard of the God you believe. But that's violation of the Law of The Biblical God for a Father to send his son to suffer and die so mankind will be saved (Deuteronomy 12:31). The Biblical GOD was angry when Manasseh's son was sacrificed. It is also one of the reason (Israelites sacrificing their children) why the Kingdom of Israel came to an end.
I am Blessed to be part of an APOSTOLIC CHURCH teaching apostolic doctrine😇🙏 I am blessed to be a member of United Pentecostal Church Philippines, since 2015😇🙏
Thank you Jesus for pastor Bernard once again this is totally awesome brother Bernard

I love listening to this man speak and preach and reading his books.
Although I feel like david Bernard clearly won this debate I have to say that Mr. carpenter was very polite and humble. This was a very good dialogue
Wake up!
The most professional debate I have ever heard between the two views. Both speakers did a great job.
Great job very wholesome and Christian
I wish this debate had an opportunity for the speakers to cross examine each other. That is usually the most exciting part of the debate.
And JESUS said "if I be lifted up, I will DRAW All Men unto ME"
Just keep on following JESUS Only, my Brother
In JESUS Name!
Brother have you received the Holy Ghost yet and spoke in other tongues?….
Speaking in tongues is not salvation, but it's part of salvation. Baptism in the name of Jesus is part of salvation. Etc
However Oneness preaches the doctrine of the antichrist according to 1 John 2:22

Zachariah 12:10
Praise The Lord, The Word of God is Holy.

13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man WHICH IS IN HEAVEN.

David Bernard is one of the great defenders of one God belief of this modern times against the beliefs of the pagan like the Trinity.

Educated fools.
I think this IS a timeless message. Thanks for it being available.
My question is: Who wins the debate? and who's proposition is truth and consistent to believe in?
I love the teaching of Dr. Bernard because it has more sense to listened to, than to the other one who could hardly explain some questions being asked to him.
Look closely his belief from creation viewpoint, it look like Adam's rebellion from the Law comes from the image and likeness of GOD.
The debate won by This verses:
Deuteronomy 6:4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:
Deuteronomy 32:39 See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand.
I and the Father are one.
Very well stated!
I think apostolics (I was one) should go one more step closer to the original doctrine of the apostles, if they want to be truly apostolic

I appreciate that Dr. Bernard specifically emphasized The WORD of GOD!
If we say we love God and we say we obey His commandments and His Word, why then do we not ALL baptize in the name of Jesus, just as Jesus instructed in Matthew 28v19 and which was carried out in the Acts of the Apostles on the day of Pentecost and for the next 200 years...
The Apostles all baptized in Jesus name read Luke 24:45-47 and Acts 2:38, Acts 4:12 and Acts 19:1-6
Great job 👍 both of you.
@@cousinlo7 You will find that Polycarp was a student of Ignatius, and Ignatius was a student of the Apostle John. The first Christians were Jews, there is no way they would have accepted a trinity. Revelation 11:8
And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the GREAT CITY, which spiritually is called SODOM and EGYPT, where also our LORD was CRUCIFIED.
Jesus was crucified in the GREAT CITY Jerusalem and Revelation 18 now tells us that the GREAT CITY is BABYLON - it couldn’t be any clearer.
Revelation 18:10
Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas that GREAT CITY BABYLON, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come.
Rome, USA, Mecca didn’t kill the Old Testament PROPHETS so they CANNOT be Babylon. Jerusalem killed the Prophets and is therefore Babylon.

Trinitarian does not support their beliefs With the scriptures.
There is no Scripture to back the Trinitarian position with.
Trinitarians cannot even make any variation of their doctrine intelligible enough to affirm. The concept cancels itself on its face.

More Philosophy than Scripture.
@@Bolagh Well, that depends on the person you're speaking with. There are a lot of trinitarians who exclusively use the Bible (incorrectly, of course).

The word trinity is from catholic not from God, the prophets, Jesus, the apostles, it came from the devil himself

@@tp3922 thanks. I share your beliefs.
Again: Luke 24:45 Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,
We can't answer every "HOW" when it comes to God being who He is.
He/Him/His/You/Your/Your's
We NEVER find in the Bible....
Ya'll/theirs/they/them.
This fact is self explanatory that their is only the one person of God.
So if it "appears" to be more than one person, we must let scripture speak of why we must believe in one God even when we can't understand why it looks like persons.
Very good points all, brother!

"Another" Comforter is the Greek word allos, meaning "more of the same [kind]", not as in a "different" kind.
So by that Greek word for “another”, you count 1 comforter?
@@anthonycortes3554 "Another" is not the translation of the Greek word "allos". Comfort can't be seen, can it? God comforts you, me, all who believe. The comfort is from the same source. If God is like Water, it can be frozen, boiled, poured into many receptacles, but is the same water. Allos = more of the same.

Because Paul says in 1st Cor 7:11 says when a woman divorces a man, she must either remain single or... re-enter her marriage with the same man.
@@anthonycortes3554 Allos definitely doesn't mean "different", as we can see in Mark 16:12 when Jesus appeared in another form, which is the word heteros. Oneness Biblical Arguments to Show that Jesus is the Father
Isaiah 9:6: "For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government is upon his shoulder; and his name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."
Dr.
He is the one who gives Eternal Life - John 6:27
What is prophesied here is the redemptive work of the Messiah.
It is not enough to cite Isaiah 9:6 as "PROOF TEXT" and then continue along the way very casually as if they had proven that Jesus is the Father.
fallacy of equivocation - explain
Other scholars say that "Eternal Father is an idiomatic expression that describes the Messiah's relationship with time - not with the other persons of the Trinity. - It means that he has always existed.
.- Abi-Ad = Eternal Father (Isa. 9:6)
.- Abi - Albón - 2 Samuel 23:31: Father of Strength / strong. (nothing to do with being a father).
.- Abigail - Father of exaltation - 1 Chron. 2:16 - Abigail was a woman - nothing to do with being a father.
.- Abijasaph - Ex. 6:24 - Father of the collection - collector - nothing to do with being a father.
John 5:43: "I have come in my Father's name, and you do not receive me; if another comes in his own name, him you will receive."
Dr. Bernard uses this passage to prove that "Father" is just another name, or one of the names of Jesus.
Bernard states: "It is important to note that the name of the Father is Jesus, because this name fully reveals and expresses the Father. In John 5:43, Jesus said: "I have come in the name of my Father, and you do not receive me; If another comes in his own name, him you will receive."
Refutation:
If the phrase "come in the name of" means that you are the person in whose name you come, then we are all in trouble.
Today it doesn't mean that. At the time Jesus spoke it didn't mean that either.
Let's read 1 Samuel 17:45: "Then David said to the Philistine, 'You come to me with sword and spear and javelin; but I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, to whom you you have provoked."
According to Bernard's reasoning the name David, or we can say David is, Jehovah of hosts, or "the God of the armies of Israel."
Of course the phrase "in my Father's name" means "by the authority of my Father."
Jesus spoke and did things in and with the authority of the Father.
John 10:30: "I and the Father are one"
This verse clearly shows the ontological relationship between the Father and the Son.
*** we are: "esmen" - plural - It does not say "I and the Father are one."
This passage is, then, an antidote across the centuries to counter Arianism on the one hand, and modalism on the other.
The verse points out the diversity or plurality of people and the unity in the essence or nature.
"I and the Father" - two people
"we are" - again expressed plurality.
These two people never become one person.
Jesus does not say "We are a person", but we are a substance, nature, we are ontologically equal.
This removes the stigma of Sabellianism, which denies the diversity of people.
Philippians 2:9-11: "Therefore God also highly exalted him and gave him the name that is above every name, 2:10 so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow of those who are in the heaven, and in the earth, and under the earth; 2:11 and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."

There’s no such thing trinity that came from catholic and the devil
Jesus been begotten by the third person of their triune god but the first person is Jesus father??? Jesus is having TWO Fathers :)
NEVER a concept of a triune God existed int the primitive church,it never been teach nor believe. There always been only one God THE FATHER. (who became flesh)
Stop assuming human biology to God. Th Spirit didn't impregnate mary thru seed, but simply by the power of the Spirit
@@johnarevalo3450 the seed of the Spirit it's the power of the Spirit to begot Jesus. The women egg must be fertilize to create life.Jesus have how many fathers?
And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel (Genesis 3:15).The ultimate seed of the women will be Jesus.
Hahahaha has two father.
Benard said in his closing statement, 'For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, but that doesn't mean he sent someone, it means he sent himself.' Contradictory i would say
On the surface yes but, considering that God existed as a spirit throughout all time, and HE is _literally_ the only One who could save us, it makes sense that HE would send Himself. I believe if you look at Isaiah 55:11, as well as many other scriptures of the Old Testament, you will see that is what He's talking about. He speaks of His right arm doing things, and Jesus is His right arm as opposed to being at His right arm Etc.
@@The-F.R.E.E.-J. u cannot send yourself. Jesus even says a body YOU have prepared for ME. The Son acknowledges the Father.
@@johnarevalo3450 I would like to request that we could both be polite enough to respond _directly_ to what is being said. To be more clear, Isaiah 55:11 says "so shall my WORD be". Jesus is the Word of God, MADE FLESH, and we know that God Himself is that Word so, for God to send out HIis WORD means for God to send HIMSELF out. Otherwise, someone other than God is our Saviour, and we know that is not true. Or, are you saying that someone other than God is our Saviour or that we have TWO Saviours? Again, please respond directly to what has been stated before moving on to something else for that is a form of dodging & doesn't get us anywhere. Thank you
@@The-F.R.E.E.-J. hi. Since u mention salvation, jesus CLEARLY says no one plucks people from his hand, he then mentions the same about the Father's hand. He says that it is the Father who draws the people to Jesus. So Jesus saves those whom the Father sends. U cannot deny this, its literally scripture. That is is distinct in persons. Even if u strip away exegesis and simply read the basic text, it even shows distinction in persons.
@@The-F.R.E.E.-J. as to Isaiah 55:11 this passage is referring to scriptures and not the Son. Pay close attention my friend, this word is the same word jesus used when he says man shall not live by bread alone but by ever word that comes from the mouth of God. Also in Isaiah 55 11, look as u read on it says, IT will not come back empty. Jesus is not an IT but a HE. In this case it does not mean the Son
God the Father was not resurrected from the Dead! Jesus Christ was resurrected from the Dead! God the Father is not the same person Jesus Christ who was resurrected from the Dead! God the Father is not the resurrected Jesus Christ! Oneness theology is unbiblical heresy.

Trinity god is somewhat like a cerberus or gidorrah type of individual imo..
What makes you say that
@@bobpolo2964 3 personalities in one being..
@@exsorcamacho9114 What makes you say three personalities?
@@bobpolo2964 Father is God, Son is God and Holy Spirit is God.. 3 Gods in 1 God..

One lord, one faith, one baptism,. The baptism being a spirit one. Like it says in corinthians we are baptised into one spirit, water cannot do this.
If water wasn’t true baptism, the apostles would have never baptized. You can’t cherry pick what’s important, and what is not. The full counsel of God is equally important. He was mad at them for their partiality, hypocrisy, and man made traditions that violated the will of God.
A dispensationalism change happened in Pauls prison ministry. One contrast is galations. Blessed with Abraham on the earth. (kingdom on earth.. In ephesians blessed with christ in the heavenly places (not on the earth.. Ephesians says one baptism only not 2 which one is it if I'm cherry picking.
Act7;:54-59
54 When they heard these things, they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed on him with their teeth.
55 But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God,
56 And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God.
57 Then they cried out with a loud voice, and stopped their ears, and ran upon him with one accord,
58 And cast him out of the city, and stoned him: and the witnesses laid down their clothes at a young man's feet, whose name was Saul.
59 And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.
Jesus Christ is not the Father!!! You need 2 witnesses!!!
ahahah
Doesn't Isaiah 9:6 say otherwise?
Doesn't 1 Tim 3:16 and Col 1:15 say different as well?
i need two witnesses .... ok John8:18 I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me.
Then also why does Jesus say I only do what I see the father doing?
Because GOD came in human flesh to fulfill the Law and the Prophets (Matthew 5:17). As human HE will have to do according to all what were written about HIM (Luke 24:44).
@@PrintOfLife Revalation 5:13-14 disproves Bernard.
Beware of false theology, and David is one of them.. Also trinity is wrong.. You keep attacking while both of you were wrongs.
So what is right?
God bless.
Yuo idolater. Beleiving of three gos yuo repent
Who is the eternal mother of the eternal son??
@@PrintOfLife dude, you literally just denied that God has a son
@@PrintOfLife are you aware that the apostles taught that Jesus is God’s servant?
