I must admit that I cried after hearing this message. For me this was one of those sermons where I felt God was directly speaking to me. He wants to be my friend, and I , His. Isn't God just wonderful? :)
I love my wife with the love of the Lord. I like every little thing about her, the way she laughs, the way she smiles, I love to hear her voice, I love to be near her always. I love how she loves me with the love of the Lord.

This is the very event my family and I were introduced to David. We were road tripping with our 5 kids and spent Sabbath at Oakwood. It was the first time my children ...ages 6 to 11...sat still for a 2 hour sermon. We were so blessed then....and I'm thrilled to find these now!

IN all my years as a christian today i truely understand that GOD LOVES ME.I dont have to be another Jesus just ME.thank you pastor David Asscherick.
This made me ugly-cry. Possibly at the realization that perfectionism and legalism make us so completely out of touch with the reality of how God relates to us. So often we've heard God is looking for relationship with us. We often opt to think of God as Father (though He is), yet God is looking for friendship.. not just friendship, YOUR friendship and MY friendship, and every human being represents a unique, precious friendship to God, who can take us all in---all of humanity-- without impatience or exhaustion. All the beating up of ourselves that we do, and all the fixing of ourselves we try to do, is wholly unnecessary in light of how God seeks us. We have but to relax in His presence... when we're with Him we're with the truest friend.

No I don't think thats what he's saying. He just made an analogy with Elijah and Moses to whom that happened. Essentially it has happened (so its possible) but it will not happen to everyone like that because then there wouldn't be a reason for Jesus to come back the second time.

16:49 isaiah speaking to ahaz: Isaiah 7:14 14 Therefore the Lord himself will give you[c] a sign: The (hebrew ha) virgin[d] (hebrew almah) will conceive and give birth to a son, and[e] will call him Immanuel (hebrew god with us) [f] 15 He will be eating curds and honey when he knows enough to reject the wrong and choose the right, 16 for before the boy knows enough to reject the wrong and choose the right, the land of the two kings you dread will be laid waste. this verse is not talking about isaiah's son but the son of "the" virgin who will call the some immanuel, not jesus.
