    People always like to discredit Tyson's heart, "he never fought through adversity". This fight has always been my counter to that argument, the guy has a mental breakdown during a fight in front of the entire world (Holyfield 2), loses his 2nd consecutive loss for the first time in his career, and then gets banned from boxing all together for 2 years. He has zero fights for 2 years straight and has several legal battles and loses millions of dollars in the process, all the while his skills are declining due to age and inactivity. He fights a guy that is tough but "should lose", and all of a sudden he finds himself behind 4 straight rounds, missing punches, being pushed around and getting frustrated with the gameness of his opponent, and with his back against the wall he uncorks a text book right hand to topple his opponent to the floor, and once the count is up, and he knows he's won the battle he immediately runs over to try and help his defeated foe from falling to the ground again. Heart, humility and facing adversity is something this man has had to do since he was a boy, his greatness is not overrated whatsoever as a boxer or as a man, despite what the critics will always say. Legend Forever.

      Well said, man.. I've never thought Tyson's heart was as weak as people always said. His chin, too. The two kind of go in tandem. I've been watching his career since the late 80's when I was just a little kid. His losses later in his career, starting with the Douglas upset, were never a single punch knockout.. he took his beatings like a boxer should. Held up by his ability to take a punch (chin) .. and able to stand while enduring sustained beatings was due to his heart. Aside from Holyfield II, he took all his losses strongly. (If that makes sense)

    "The White Buffalo" Francois Botha was a good fighter who in his best contender years gave good runs against his opponents.
    4-time world heavyweight title challanger, who fought for 4/5 of the major title belts with only the WBA one left-out.
    Botha had some fine career fights like; Mike Tyson, Lennox Lewis, Wladimir Klitschko, Evander Holyfield, Michael Moorer, Shannon Briggs etc. and his fight with Tyson was a career make-or-break one for Iron Mike as a loss there would have derailed his career. Being behind on all the scorecards and in the process proved much tougher then anyone had ever expected until that right-hand crushed him.
    To Bothas credit, he won some minor title belts, including;
    the WBF heavyweight title, the WBA-NABA heavyweight title and the Transvaal heavyweight title.

    With how tough Botha was. Unless he took a dive. There was no way Mike Tyson was going to knock him out. And certainly not with one punch.

    Mike Tyson won this bout no doubt
    Did you Guy's no what Buster said b4 the bout. " we hear Mikes not training for me, i feel disrespected" well Buster, Mike mentality his " Mind was not on his work" something Cus reminded him he is a prize fighter & must be ready for the Ring at all times. So Mike went into this fight out of shape. & still performed what does this say about him. " one tough ***" prime Mike in Condition no way no chance past the 4th round

      Most famous people are horrible human beings, and had to sell their soul in some way to get there. Tyson grew up in extremely poor and in a violent area, he did what he had to survive. I'm just happy he finally found peace in such a troubled life.

    • @wtfgebeurdmij2991
      @wtfgebeurdmij2991 Год назад +1

      I dont think mike is a horrible person, his violence probably is because mike is not the smartest person. ( IQ is very low in the test )
      Which could explain why he was so bad at controlling emotions and seeing the truth in bad people. He basically walked in to every bad situation with 2 open eyes. Like how he trusted don king and how he got himself to jail for trusting that terrible "girlfriend".
      This is what his trainers really meant for him: mike tyson had the instincts, the ferocity, the power and the body.
      Kevin rooney and cus d amato took care of his mental state and emotions. They made the fight plans, did all the thinking and decision making.
      A dream team as long as it lasted.
