Every big one gives Ghost of Tsushima a 9, Gamespot again a 7/10. They really really hate Sony. Now it’s more than clear. And the problem is, they are one of the big ones on Metacritic which will cause a big damage on the score overall. -.-
I always always love your recommendations on games. You are my go to reviewer for any game that is coming out as I find your opinion honest and unbiased. I have a question which I am sure a lot of other people would have too. Japanese or English Audio??
20:44 "Combat doesn't become harder because enemies become more spongy, it becomes harder because they fight better, they are better combatants against you" That's all I needed to hear.
Iain Steele Because they all play on easy mode lol, you need to see someone playing it on hard mode, that’s were the AI gets tough and smarter. Also, supposedly there’s a 8 gb update on the day of release so they will probably fix whatever bug or problem the AI has
@@Sx-xy2zi Is it just me or did that game evaporate from people's mind? Like I remember thinking it was pretty cool and then I forgot about it for years.
A little detail some people may have missed about the wind. When jins father is getting buried someone’s says...”your father is the wind behind your back and your mother the birds”. The wind guided you and so does the yellow bird
Another detail is if you talk to some of the NPCs Jin mentions that right before he was born his mother saw foxes outside, thus her telling Jin that the Inari fox spirit was his guardian protector. Which now ties up why we have the fox shrines
"Don't just add more HP to the target, make them fight smarter and better" "No level gating." "makes you feel like a samurai" "their traversal challenge" "No cluttered map" is this really the Assassin's Creed game I've been waiting for?
Thank god for point #1. One of the biggest disappointments with modern AC games are level/gear gating. The “gear power rating” is eventually gonna turn the game into Diablo/Destiny/WoW where it’s just bigger and bigger numbers in a STEALTH ACTION GAME. Assassinations should be all about skills and techniques, and not about grinding for gears.
I'm glad there is no level gating. I don't want to have to grind for hours and hours leveling up my character and weapons. This open world also has this calming look to it that makes you want to explore it.
Sucker punch also said they didn’t inflate HP on higher difficulties in order to preserve the feeling of how strong the katana is. Such a smart decision.
Yes the katana the ultimate sword that could cut through solid slabs of steel in one strike, even the european full plate armor stand no chance against this weapon of perfection.
I’ve been playing on Hard for a few hours and the AI just seem more aggressive which is far more challenging than inflated HP, but also feels more rewarding and makes you feel like a demon
Renz Manzano try actually reading about historical warfare and how cardboard / cloth armor and katanas actually stacks up. but by all means continue the fap over all things japan in the meantime.
@@AyushMalviya It's forcing a player to reach a certain level before they are allowed to progress in the game. For example, an area can have a level requirement that you need to reach before entering that area.
Also I really enjoyed his bro moments with Ryuzo because of that because it semed like he could show more of himself in those moments when it was just the two of them joking around and teasing each other.
I don’t think it’s a fault of the writing or characters as much as it is the voice acting. I’m doing a second play through currently in Japanese, and the characters are much more emotive.
i feel like jin jas so much subtle emotion ans in the end of the game with his final choice it is really exemplified just how much he can feel and show. he is an amazing character
Sucker Punch began the Generation with Infamous Second Son and they have ended it in phenomenal fashion with Ghost Of Tsushima. Doesn't even feel like its been 7yrs since PS4 came out. The best console generation yet imo.
"One of the best open world games" "The best Samurai game ever made" "You have to play Ghost of Tsushima" All in the opening minute of the review. Well that's good enough for me, when Ralph/Skill Up says things like this... SOLD!
Gotta say this game shows how much small things can make a difference. Like the ability to play a flute with different tunes to change the games weather, being able to sheathe your sword, being able to bow and pay respect to random AI in villages and to enemies you have killed that put up a good fight. Also the unique side activities are a breath of fresh air; when I first saw that making haikus would be a part of the game I was a bit worried if that would be a good idea, but they really showed me it’s a very relaxing and unique game, 10/10.
Exactly, they should've just started another franchise with the rpg stuff and said they're stopping production on assassins creed for now. Edit: but, they wanna cash in with the title sooo
I think Origins introduced some really good elements to the AC franchise, though it certainly had it's faults. Faults that were the focus of Odyssey...which really brought the quality of that game down. Hopefully they scaled back for Valhalla. I was against the leveling system the moment I learned about it.
you´re so damn right... I loved Origins, but I somehow hoped it would be kind of an one-off RPG AC. Man, I don´t want to farm for on-level weapons in AC just to sell them after an hour bc I leveled up.
I’m so used to swiping up for the wind to lead me, and immersing myself in the game without ever looking at a map on the bottom left or right hand side, that I really can’t play another game that has a minimap the same way again.
I wouldn't be surprised is Ubisoft copies this design and incorporates it into the next Assassin's Creed game. Actually I'm not surprised, I know it's going to happen.
Seriously it's just awe inspiringly beautiful how you can just let the wind take you and you end up on the whole other side of the map with the help of birds and foxes and spirits like woah 🤣👏🏽🤯🥰
I love the fact that you dont even have to swipe up. Just watch the tassels on your bow, or the direction of your cape in the breeze. The UI in this game really does stay out of your way as much as possible, and it really pays off in terms of immersion. 10/10
I've been playing the game casually for about a week. Came back to say Ralph is dead wrong about Jin. His characterization is subtle, but thorough. He struggles with adjusting his fighting methods, not because of lack of ability, but not betraying his families code of honor. He is otherwise a pillar for his people, as he was trained to be, and recognized as such by the people.
Yeah the part of him being bland was I think intentional you know Jin is a samurai he even mentioned that he has to suppress his emotions so I think that was that
kurosawa has had such an unreal reach and influence across the world and i love that he's continuing to get every bit of warranted recognition/homage (also, great review)
@psykosonikwarrior he really is. ive been going back through his works and the quality of everything from story layout to the length of single camera shots is astounding, directors these days really need to go back and see what originally made great films
I wonder what Kurosawa would’ve thought about this game. I think we owe a lot to him, and who would’ve thought his influence would eventually turn into a great video game?!
4:34 Why the emphasis on Wind in this game? Because it was the the *Kamikaze storms (Japanese for divine wind)* were two storm winds that are said to have saved Japan from two Mongol fleets under Kublai Khan.
@@BoHugh not everything just happen to be coincidental. Designing things if done professionally isn't only about. "Mike, waypoints suuucc put sumthin, idk, wind? It looks sooo rad". They might have a lot of ideas of what is fittings to take over the waypoints place. They might think about what if smoke, what if bird leading you, what if camera pan, and probably someone comes up with the wind idea and they back it up with that concept. To design something isn't only about looks but more about the concept / idea behind it.
mattygee79 Right there was a moment with lady masako where she yells at him for calling old and they both laugh a little bit and he goes “I would never” and that one little moment was more meaningful than the entire rest of the quest.
I honestly like Jin and his personality shinning through as the game progress. You can also see his personality on the little animations you have with your horse after you clear a enemy camp, the conversations he has with the side characters making jokes and spoiler I guess (the armor you get if you clear all onsen baths).
I love how the camera doesn’t always stay centered on the main character during combat. You’ll see in the video that he’ll kill an enemy, then as he’s rushing towards another one, the camera sort of lingers, almost like it’s being pulled back, and it gives this sense of forward momentum as your blow connects with the next enemy and it snaps back to you. And this isn’t just exclusive to those moments. It does it on a regular basis, providing this breathtaking cinematic scope of the fight, showing all the enemies you’re fighting against, then focusing on you in those moments in combat when you’re in the enemy’s face, almost like the camera is a measurement of the main character’s sense of awareness of his surroundings.
Paul Wade The video specifically said there is no lock on. If there was, the animation wouldn’t have been nearly as smooth as it is in the final product.
And that's important. You can tell it's not for the sake of getting likes or whatever. Dude actually played it and loved it. Buying the PS5 when it drops just so i can play this game!
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare started that shit and the plebs in the gaming community ate_it_up. I mean, the NPC's would literally carve a path to an objective for the player all while having the blinding white-in-color-word "Follow" constant above their heads. Smh. I HATE that shit. Don't hold my hand, I'm not a toddler ffs
I never agree with this notion that jin is a boring character, its almost like marvel movies have brainwashed people into thinking if a hero doesn't quip and make jokes every 5 seconds that they are somehow boring and have no personality or character arc
I’m very happy to hear two things: •the wind: great to have a navigation system organically integrated into the game instead of placing a waypoint on the map to have a direction marker placed on the screen. To suggest direction and not explicitly signify it. This encourages exploration past a straight line. •swiping right to sheathe the blade: I hate when games automatically holster/sheathe weapons after a few seconds (TLoU II being a recent example). This is a small detail but hugely important. Let me walk around with my blade out for as long as I want.
Was going to say haha Jin has watched his fellow samurai butchered at the start of the game, his homeland is currently being raped by mongols with advanced warfare tactics and weapons and is having an existential crisis about betraying his strict samurai moral code, I’d be pretty fucking sad/angry/annoyed as well
It's kind of like Connor Kenway - watching his village being destroyed, his people being driven away from their land, his mother burned to a crisp and then at the end of it all, finding that his work and efforts may not even amount to anything. Nah, people just wanted another Ezio.
@@reece42069 well you did just list 3 emotions. Pretty sure skillup meant Jin displays no emotion. He's a brick wall. You'd think someone who loves his country this much watching it get razed would at least be outwardly upset
Exactly. He grew up raised by his uncle, obviously he’s gonna be a quite, rule abiding samurai in training who’s in perfect control of his emotion. I prefer it that way for this. Makes it to where when he does write the poetry or play the flute, those are the moments where his heart is open
The fact that they haven't done one in Japan yet makes me think that they're probably shooting each other in the conference room as we speak, wondering why the fuck they didn't do this first.
@@Battlebox0 nah buddy I don't think Ubisoft will ever be able to achieve what sucker punch did. But hey, at least they have you 🐑 to buy their "AC games* . This must've been a sucker punch for Ubisoft...enjoy Valhalla!👍
It may not be a leap like Breath of the Wild but Tsushima has some smart choices to avoid being mistaken for an Ubisoft effort and be recognisable on it's own. We could use more of these and I'm more curious about inFamous than ever even if it is a different niche of open world game.
@@ethanwilkins662 How is it a dumb question if the OP doesn't explain why it is a refreshing take? Vague empty statements mean nothing without detail 🙄
@@trentimus5700 It's not politically correct enough and they think that a western company shouldn't make a game based on a foreign history, culture and story because it's racist as well as setting uncomfortable precedence in stealing culture or some crap like that. Also, they said that Asian opinion on this shouldn't matter, only American Asian. It's dumb, in short,.
When I first heard about this game, I was curious. When I first saw the trailer, I was interested. When I first saw the gameplay reveal, I was enraptured. And now when I hear Skill Up saying that it was the most beautiful open world game he had ever played, I was sold.
Literally could not have put it any better myself. Sucker Punch just sucker punched the potential for this out of the park. I’m so fucking excited for this game.
When he said "Let's talk about the best thing...Combat", and then for the next 15 seconds it showed Jin slashing up people and then he did that 3 hit combo in slow-mo OMFG I GOT GOOSEBUMPS. YESSS. Did anyone else feel that!?
"This game make you feel like a samurai", fun fact if you play the game in japanese, the voice actor of the protagonist is the same as Zoro from One Piece, that help for the immersion Edit: In Samurai Champloo, there are two samurai characters, one named Jin (very traditional) and one named Mugen (more freestyle) the voice actor of Mugen is Kazuya Nakai (same as Zoro), and here is the curious thing, the name of the protagonist of this game is also Jin...
I have to disagee with you about the writing. I feel that it really fit the era and characters well. I use to watch movies when I was a kid that basically was just like this and its refreshing to see a new take on that. Also, I feel Jin was a ok protagonist. He wasn't cringy, ( I hate using that word,) or even uninteresting. I found him to be ok, right there in the middle.
I have to disagree with you about the era. The game is an amazing homage to Kurosawa movies etc. but that doesn't mean it fits the era. The setting of this game is during the Kamakura period (1185-1333), but the way bushido is portrayed in this game is an invention of the edo period (1603-1868). The edo period was a time of relative peace so they had time to invest in things like strict social order, but this strict social order and code of honor is what people associate with samurai. In wartime, no samurai would have cared how they killed their enemies. Take for example, Hattori Hanzo, the most famous historical ninja. He was first and foremost a samurai and was highly valued by his lord, Tokugawa Ieyasu.
I feel like they took much more of a risk in the writing. Its not the typical samurai movie but its also not every MCU movie. Its a good in between. Just like Jin. Jin was a character that a lot of us didnt like because of his decisions but we played it anyway, just like TLOU2. But this game manages it a lot lot better in terms of making a character you dont like but still empathizing with them and developing them throughout the story. Jin grows from a cult following samurai to a dishonorable ghost. I think we gotta respect Sucker Punch for doing this type of character development in these type of settings
@@dojetunes you didnt like Jin? Wtf? I understand why people get the idea hes "boring" but hes not. As a character we see him struggle with rejecting the ways of the samurai. It's even explained that the samurai way is not right throughout the game, because it's easy to predict... jin sacrifices a piece of himself to do what was necessary. He adopts the title of the ghost to adapt fear as a weapon. I think the biggest real issue is that this is seen as dishonourable, but samurai wore masks to do exactly that. Not to mention the few remarks he made which were actually quite funny like early on in the lady masako quest line. Hes a very different character but done with almost precision. Hes not wisecracking, or honour bound. He struggles with blame, sacrifice, exile, and loss. The fact you can bow to honour fallen samurai and civilians, and the connection to your horse, and characters within the plot, having people judge him for fighting in a style that is pivotal to destroy the mongols and people mention it. Theres so many finite details that show the incredible details of the game, and its character writing. Its definitely not perfect, but at least there is reason to each subtle detail
@@James-f97 thats what i was trying to say sorry if it wasnt clear. But yeah you made it a lot more understandable and thats a good point. I've lost passion for games and gaming in general last few years. When I saw the trailer for this game, years ago, that spark of excitement hit me. I followed this game and the progress on it's development. Here we are, and I can't explain how stoked I am to finally play this. Feel like a gamer again.
@@myluckyday4368 Same here, for me it's the lack of variety they make the same games every year. It's either a Souls like clone, Call of Duty, how many Assassin's Creed titles they have? I don't even buy Madden anymore because it's the same game every year.
C'lo 20 Yeah fr and all the microtransactions man. I mean I get they are cosmetic(usually)but still, if I pay 70€ to get half of the game it doesnt spark any joy. Im glad there are still a few good developers in gaming industry that delivers

@@ChrisJohannsen let's be honest here Ubisoft is being a bit too ambitious here. The new direction the series is taking makes me really question the future of the franchise. Besides they're the ones who said that imperial japan is not fit for AC creed concept, then goes on to make ancient Greek and Persian. What are bunch of hypocrites Ubisoft are.
@Chris Johansen I do love good writing in my video games, but as long as it's not Disney star wars bad then it doesn't ruin the experience,so even if the writing is meh,it's ok,everything else seems great. Also Ubisoft haven't made one game with good writing in last decade, and no ones even expecting it,people shit on them for micro transactions filled, grindy, soulless, unimaginative, repetitive"games".
Glad you liked it man, But in Jin's defense, its his stoicism, code of honor and emotional restraint , led to why he seemed "flat" but to me i saw Jin's internal conflict as an honor bound samurai to the duty bound ghost that wants to save his people no matter what, its what made him this dynamic character for me he feels more than he lets on, and we see this tip during one of the story encounters (no spoiler). The shade of dark and light with in him wether to be an honorable samurai, or a vigilante Ghost. as for the story, i have to disagree too, The plot was the invasion, but the central arch of the story is Jin's principles and his relationship with his closest allies and particularly his uncle, there were definitely moments of awe and spine chilling sequences during the story that drove it to its highs and lows. The pacing was perfect it never rushed nor was filled with unnecessary filler and it really drove it home for me, Im glad alot of people are loving this game as they should it is indeed a beautiful swansong for the PS4 Wonderful review man keep up the good work :-)

That was pretty much what I said to myself. I want to play in English and in color on my first play through, then go black and white with Japanese dub the second time.
*19:00* The way he leaves his foot trails in the mud during combat is astounding. It might be a very minor detail, but this goes to show the amount of work they've put into this..
You’re dead wrong on the writing. I found the Tales, especially the character tales to be very compelling and emotional. They clearly put a lot of work in making more interesting side quests over fetch quests. Jin is boring, but the stories and people you help, like Lady Masako, Yuna, and Norio are engaging and tragic in a lot of ways. I’m dumbfounded how all these reviewers weren’t moved by these stories. It’s like they were expecting the same gamey stuff and Sucker Punch gave us more, but we’ve unfortunately been taught to not even notice it and gloss over it because we’re not mature enough to care.

One thing that really caught my eye during a recent preview - and I'm so, so glad that it lands in the final release and resonated with you - was the use of diegetic elements like wind and animals to guide the player throughout the world instead of slapping a big fat Go Here icon on-screen at distances, actually using your eyes to interface with the game world. It's nice to see Breath of the Wild finally make an influence on modern, mainstream open-world design. Between that influence coming through and games like Death Stranding trying to make simple movement mechanics interesting, I'm really interested to see where games go in the next five or ten years. We've spent years making talented artists and world designers create beautiful open worlds and then pairing them with gameplay that regularly means the player just ignores them, staring at the Go Here Icon.
I mean, not really. It was very well received across both critics and users. I still hear it referenced often even at the end of this console generation in podcasts and videos
Finally the Sir Alonne prequel we have all been waiting for. The story will finally reveal the biggest question about his character: His obsession with clean floors. Can't wait.
They waited too long and SP snatched the perfect setting foe an AC game in Japan. A samurai who would join the Brotherhood, being conflicted with his own code? A great ac character arc to build. But too late, GoT did it lol
4:20 is all I had to hear. I will go insane if I ever play another game where you constantly look at the radar instead of the landscapes. Dude with how excited you were to talk about this on Twitter, I could tell you loved this game. Borderline breaking embargo with those tweets but I’m glad this game is awesome.
I've played this for the last few days and find the story to be perfectly fine, the side tales are quite enjoyable, got about 12 hours in and still in chapter 1, best game I've played this year so far.
I remember getting my PS4 for Christmas in 2014. I got a PS4 which included destiny with it, and I had asked for infamous second son as well. I opened it on Christmas Day and was excited to play both. Except the PSN servers got hacked Christmas Day by lizard squad meaning I couldn’t play destiny, so I spent two days straight playing infamous. Finished the story twice, both good and evil, got all the upgrades and overall had a fantastic time. It was a great game with a lot of care put into it and ultimately just was a lot of fun to play. If this game is just as good or even better than infamous, then I’m in for a treat.
The inFamous Second Son gameplay was so much fun. I liked the variety of powers we got compared to previous inFamous games. Especially given that smoke and light powers felt unique compared to what we have in the mainstream superhero genre. Sucker Punch is just great at designing fun gameplay and they proved themselves again with Ghost.
I've played through Second Son 4 times. Such a good game. I'm sure this game will be good fun too. The "Generic" story I am much looking forward to. I'd hate for them to try to be unique to the point of misunderstanding the classic samurai story.
Hell yeah. I wasn't really that excited for this game until a week ago and then I went full hype mode and preordered it. So happy to see the positive reviews. PS4 has done it again.

It doesn’t matter, both of them are their own games and they don’t intend to copy either game. I wish people would stop comparing Ghost to AC. Let Ghost have their glory then we will see what Valhalla has to offer in 3 months.
One truly great and impressive technical aspect - on PS4, when you fast travel from one end of the island to the other, it usually only takes a few seconds. In other PS4 open world games, like Spider-Man or Horizon, that often takes 30-40 seconds or even more. The fact that they managed to do that with the slow-ass harddisk of the PS4 is quite a feat.
"Hey guys Sam here, gonna review Ghost of Sashimi... Wait what's it called? I was playing Overwatch and had to pop this game in for a few hours... It's pretty, am I right?" 🤣😂
I would love see a role reversal one day...Sam doing an in-depth SkillUp style review, and Ralph doing a memey casual top-level impressions. That'd be a funny day. :-)
Seriously the perfect “end of an era” game. It’s proof that the bar is raising: If you want to succeed in this decade of gaming, your game needs to be innovative.
kirenoloc My point more so is if you’re not pulling away from typical open world tropes and finding ways to eliminate “grind”, your game will fall into the category of “just another open world game”. There’s always a game that in a way reinvents the wheel, like Red Dead with open world. Then there’s games that come after that try to at least meet this standard.
@Genghis Khan TLOU Part 1 and 2 are a single game bro they complete each other because Part 2 deals with the consequences from the ending of the first part and completes Joel and Ellie's relationship and Joel's character arc in particular. It is actually beautiful if you pay attention and this is coming from someone who loved those characters in the first game.
4:53 I see they've included totally realistic deer AI, as the millions of people who have come home with a missing headlight and deer poop all over the hood can attest to.
The enemies taking turns is completely gone in Lethal mode. You will get absolutely effed if you allow yourself to be surrounded. Such a visceral feeling and an absolute credit to the combat in this game.

They do a very good job sure. Buttt I always have my question marks with reviewers who get an early copy. In the game of youtube reviews the early you are the better of course. Who wants a review 2-3 weeks after release ? Nobody except dedicated fans. So reviewers who get an early code might be a bit more lenient towards a game. If you shit on it you will be black listed and never get an early review code of their company again...Thus never an early review. Seeing what I'm going with this ? Best case scenario no early copies FOR NOBODY. I doubt they would let this fact influence their judgement much as both were still fairly critical in aspects. Still it's a great game for sure.
@@davevd9944 It's a real problem for sure but in my opinion you can only counter that by following a reviewer longer term and check if they are true to their word. But even then, you will disagree with every reviewer at some point.

Its impossible to miss it when it invests you almost instantly. Wonderful story telling.

It’s the assassins creed everyone’s been waiting for and I haven’t even played assassins creed like ever
No, this is better
Thank god for point #1. One of the biggest disappointments with modern AC games are level/gear gating. The “gear power rating” is eventually gonna turn the game into Diablo/Destiny/WoW where it’s just bigger and bigger numbers in a STEALTH ACTION GAME. Assassinations should be all about skills and techniques, and not about grinding for gears.
I'm glad there is no level gating. I don't want to have to grind for hours and hours leveling up my character and weapons. This open world also has this calming look to it that makes you want to explore it.
I wish this was the direction the Assassin's Creed franchise went.

Yep, totally.
I’m very happy to hear two things:
•the wind: great to have a navigation system organically integrated into the game instead of placing a waypoint on the map to have a direction marker placed on the screen.
You need to place waypoint on the map
did he really say that? who in their right mind would bear a weapon all day long? and why is this hugely important? what is this BS?
Swiping to sheathe is amazing.

YO seriously??? I'm so glad I preorder this.
I was wondering if that was Zoro when he played the Haiku part but it seems it really is the same actor.
All the more reason to play this in Japanese
My name is Jinro and I am going to be the best Samurai in Japan!
Well, now I’m definitely playing this in Japanese (first).
Meh, sounds like bad writing. If Ubisoft released the same game it would get destroyed

@@ChrisJohannsen yes because of the name AC, the boring annonimous, the eagle and countless bugs. Also the style would not be as good for sure
Glad you liked it man,
But in Jin's defense, its his stoicism, code of honor and emotional restraint , led to why he seemed "flat" but to me i saw Jin's internal conflict as an honor bound samurai to the duty bound ghost that wants to save his people no matter what, its what made him this dynamic character for me he feels more than he lets on, and we see this tip during one of the story encounters (no spoiler).
The pacing was perfect it never rushed nor was filled with unnecessary filler and it really drove it home for me,
Im glad alot of people are loving this game as they should it is indeed a beautiful swansong for the PS4

BOTW and a lot of games do this already
Angel Sierra yeah but if you think about it those games are also very good

This truly is the Samurai game we've been waiting for.
Honestly Infamous Second Son was one of the most underrated PS4 game imo, can't wait to play Ghost of Tsushima.

You weren't missing a thing by not being able to play Destiny. That game was garbage, not hot garbage like TLOU2 but still.
EXACT same thing happened to me. Screw you Lizard Squad😭😭
I've played through Second Son 4 times. Such a good game. I'm sure this game will be good fun too.
The "Generic" story I am much looking forward to. I'd hate for them to try to be unique to the point of misunderstanding the classic samurai story.
It will definitely be better than infamous 2nd son and could arguably in the top10 ps exclusives

Nothing is innovative anymore tho. Well, aside from outer wilds
This isn't innovative though? It's a pretty standard open world game. That's fine, but it's not reinventing the wheel here.
@kirenoloc no game has reinvented the wheel for years. All games can do is just refine what has worked in the past
kirenoloc My point more so is if you’re not pulling away from typical open world tropes and finding ways to eliminate “grind”, your game will fall into the category of “just another open world game”. There’s always a game that in a way reinvents the wheel, like Red Dead with open world. Then there’s games that come after that try to at least meet this standard.
