I've just ordered an X-T30ii , this video has been really useful to me as this is my first Fuji. I will now fun through your other videos. Cheers for posting.
Although I am new to photography, I have had my T-X30ii for 2+ years. I have dipped in and out of beginner tutorials but found them either confusing or to technical, this video makes soooooo much sense and I have learnt so much. I am really happy that I found you and look forward to actually progressing. Thank you
Thank you sooo much for the video! Fujifilm should pay you for your efforts. The basic manual coming in the box is toooooo basic. I went through the 50 pages and found your video is much more useful!
Thanks for a great video! I just got the camera (been using a canon for a few years before) and this was super helpful. I could have checked the manual but watching someone explain the functions AND show them work at the same time is just some much more faster.
This is super helpful for someone like me who owns a fujifilm cam for the first time. Def gonna go thru all the tutorials you have. You're doing such a great job explaining everything thoroughly!
thank you! recently switched to fujifilm. was super lost at first and kinda regretting the purchase. im used to the canon system but this video answered a lot of questions ive been seeking! thank you so much! cant wait for the next one =)
@@BrianCheyne I might be in a similar situation as well soon, thinking of buying one of these to replace my canon rebel t6. And this vid has shown me the ergonomics of this camera are much better than my current, having separate dials for shutter speed and one for iso and f stop seems a lot better than one and 3 buttons that switch between them (my current canon)
Indeed! I have picked up the camera yesterday and got sort of lost in all the different buttons and modes. This video brought me lots of steps further! Thanks man.
Absolutely Brilliant! I learned more about the camera in that one video, than I have with quite a few others, clear, concise, and short, without deviating, well once, but, congratulations. Anyone who has a little idea of terminology and the way DSL’r’s work, but just want to pick up this camera and watch this through twice, your done ✅ DG UK New Forest
Very detail information I've received from your video. Many many thanks sir. I have just bought FUJIFILM XT30 II with XC15-45mm F3.5-5.6 kit lens for Streetphotography and everyday shooting ( I'm a Pharmacologist by profession and im from India ). And watching your video. It's helping me a lot. Subscribed your channel for other informations.
Thank you for this introduction into the X-T30. It was very helpful and interesting. The camera has a very good "feel". This introduction has given me more insight into the features of this fine camera. I will watch this a few more times to be sure. 👍 😎 📷 👌
Brilliant and informative video, I’m new to photography and interested in this camera and now feel confident enough to purchase and begin to enjoy. Thanks from rural Lincolnshire uk
Thanks so much for this! As someone who spends all day doing visual effects, sometimes I forget some of the basic functions of my Fuji. This is a super useful refresher.
Absolutely excellent video! Thank-you. I have been shooting Fuji for about 5 years, having migrated from Canon. I am getting older and need lighter hardware . . . this is it!!
Very helpful. I spent so long trying to work out how to change the ISO without having to go into the Q menu. Never would have worked out that the front dial can be pressed in. Cheers
Solid material. Thank you. In the process of unloading my Canon R, R6, years of L glass including the new RF 24-70 f/2.8 and RF 70-200 f/4. Just waaaay too heavy to carry while traveling. Made the switch to Fugi - those prime f/2 lenses seem fantastic. Fingers crossed I won't regret it. New subscriber!
Thanks wai...your videos are really useful to xt30 users, I got mine few days back.. and now I m addicted to your videos...I would gladly like to share my practice photos with you..tell me where I could share...Thanks for all the videos.
Thanks for an excellent video. I’ve been debating between this and the Olympus M10 Mark IV. I’ve got some experience that I enjoy using manual settings and testing my creativity but sometimes I just want an advanced fun point and shoot. Finding a camera suitable for experienced users that also offers fun quick filters for my lazy days that is affordable is proving to be harder than I thought. I like that it’s so easy to quickly change settings with this camera. I currently have a Sony and feel like I’m spending more time searching through menus then actually photographing.
Really well done. Having a T20 for the past year and the T30 for two days, I almost passed on this "basic" guide but glad I didn't as I learned a thing or two. Looking forward to the next video as setting up the menu has some different choices than the T20.
thank you for your usual thoughtful and thorough vid. a question: i have read that there is not enough room to use the x-t30's headphone jack 2.5 -> 3.5 adapter AND the usb -> mic adaptor at the same time. (this way you can monitor the mic via the headphones ala the x-t3) the ports seem to be just too close together. could you please confirm or correct? thumbs up.
Yes that is true. You can use the 2.5mm audio and the hdmi port at the same time but I do not have cables small enough to use the usb-c port and another input. If i do find cables slim enough to use all three ports at the same time, I will definitely make a video about it.
I have watched this video several times and I am flustered and slightly cross, although I found it very helpful, the section in the latter part of the vid, you discuss the front dial command, you then say that when you push this it will change from iso to focal, I have tried this now about 20 times and my rear screen does not change and the screen just stays the same, unlike when you do this, there is a short icon that appears on the screen and then it disappears and you turn the dial and as you are able to change which ever one you have clicked to, either iso or aperture/ f stop. I have looked at the manual, that I have to say like all manuals, instead of dealing with a part of the camera, ie front dial and all of its possibilities, it refers you to another page/section, which as I have my manuals saved in i books, for reference I find annoying as if you key in front dial it lists all the pages it is mentioned, ridiculous! I do think that demystify usage would be easier if it dealt with what each button can do, ie the possibilities, however I appreciate that is not your fault, but to if I asked you, you wouldn’t answer with a part answer, like it was a game, turn to page 279, then tell me part of the direction and then turn to page 19! So could you explain what I’m doing wrong or why the pressing is not giving me the same results. I thank you in advance for any help you could give me on this. Regards David
This is a brand new camera for me:) I'm hoping you can help me figure out what I'm doing wrong. Right out the gate at S shot I can't even get a focus to take a picture. What needs adjusted? It is blurry no matter what. I'm such a newb lol Thank you
great vids! i just bought this camera used and have a dumb beginner question. When i don't have the 15-45 lense attached the camera is fully blurred and unable to take pictures even in shoot without lens mode. is this normal? I just want to know if the used camera is in working condition. There is no problem with the lens attached. but it surprised me. Thank you!
Hello, this is a great intro and set up! I wanted to ask if a firmware update can occur with the camera plugged into the computer to avoid a potential battery issue or does it have to be done with just a full charged battery separate from using computer power? Thank a bunch for your insights!
Hi Wai Lam, thanks for this useful introduction. I have a technical problem - I have been playing around with the settings. Now, when the camera is on A or P I can only see the shutter speed and aperture when I half press the shutter. Otherwise the values don't show up on the screen. How can I get them to be always visible as they are on your demonstration? Thanks

For all new viewers, this is still an appropriate video for the newer X-T30II. Thanks!
Just a good no nonsense dive in to the nice adjustments that makes this a great camera
Perfect! I’ve used the X-T1 for three years. Had to borrow a T30 today and I was completely lost at the lack of buttons. This helped me out:)
Glad I could help, thank you for leaving a comment

Great video. I've been watching other videos describing the X-T30 but yours is the best due to its simplicity, I learned a couple things from it. :)

Apologies if I missed it, but is it possible to tap the screen where you want it to focus, or do you have to use the knob?

Im not sure, I would recommend you Gear menu > USER SETTING > RESET to reset you camera back to factory default.
