I usually dread watching art tutorials, even though they are very helpful and I seek them out, but I feel like I learned so much after this video and my brain doesn't feel like it's melting for once
Hair is the one thing I've basically given up on ever getting right! 😭😭No matter how many tutorials I watch, I just can't seem to make it look good. Your tutorials are always really helpful and easy to understand, so hopefully this one will motivate me to finally get a grasp on things.
Ikr, I usually hate shading hair because it never EVER comes out right... But I'm attempting this method rn and already I see improvement on my first try :O So don't give up!!!
I really love the creativity in how you explain and guide us (especially the game dialogue part; I love it so much, haha). So far, your videos have motivated me to continue my drawing career and have actually helped me improve a lot as well. Thank you!
I’m getting much better now with my line art but when it comes to color I definitely need to be more organized now. For me it helps a lot to just practice one thing like eye rendering until I get it because then I can just do it quickly in 30m and make it look very good. You have helped me a lot I couldn’t do anything before lmao.
I find it interesting how these concepts applies very into drawing 2d but different when applied to 3d modeling where i draw is focused on 3d models so some concepts applies and some dont
I recently learned about color contrast vs value contrast, I find it interesting because if you put paintings like van goghs in black and white it all of a sudden looks much worse and almost flat. Yet when its in color it seems to have a feeling of shading almost. I never really understood until I realized color contrast is why he used different color temperatures and they make our brain almost read things as shadows even though they aren't much different in value. Idk if it would be great in anime illustration but I have seen other illustration do this as well so I think it is actually possible to pull off really good pictures that look bad in black and white. I'm definitely going to be experimenting with it myself lol.
YO, I really like your art style, can you make tutorial videos that tackles how to draw like you do? Maybe tutorials about how to draw hair, eyes, or any part. I just want to see what your thinking process while drawing.
The skin tone color on the hair near the face didn't give it a translucent effect as much as it made it look very reflective (like the color of the face reflects in the hair) which makes for a very very cool effect. I thought you were going for that until you said it was meant to be translucent.
When you do monochrome for lighting; do you change the opacity when you add in color on another layer? It didn't seem like you used layer>multiply so I wanted to ask.
1:45 This a side ponytail or a... breaking the rules of proportions? Tricky... 3:27 Interesting... so THATS why some anime models look wrong... Diffuse lighting kinda inferior from a visual standpoint(or preference) ngl. 5:30 Woah... there be more to those color bars than the vertical part. 6:16 I've been trying for a bit to code an alternative tool to Adobe Illustrator(and by extension, Clip Studio Paint, since I wish to make an app that adresses illustrators lack of support for handling rasters-in-app), but dang, it's difficult! 8:30 Hair is quite smooth... no lewdness involved.
I'm not sure how he did it and I don't use clipstudio but if you lock layer and color all the shading dark blue, put it over the color layer with multiply effect on the layer and set opacity to low it usually works well for me.
hmm i see , i still dont understand art reason why i should quit 5 years of drawing and taking coloso art was all in vain, i do now believe that "regret is always at the end" maybe be cuz im trash guess i should stop since its not fun anymore
Would be nice! 😄But you are in a better position! There are so many great Japanese teachers out there. My RUclips feed is full of Japanese videos and I don't know the language either 😅 Auto-translation is often very awkward.
Yes, it's well-known that catgirls are capable of determine the direction of sounds within one degree of accuracy thanks to their four-ear sensor array.

Agreed, the way he explains things makes it really easy to understand and I have no idea how he does it.

Umm can i ask a question do i need to make the shadows with the same color as the hair but in a multiply layer or take a darker color?
this appears as I'm learning how to draw hair from another teacher 😍
oridays thanks!,,
I’m brand new at drawing. My skill level is 0. I want to draw anime characters. Where do I start. I have an iPad
Wait but how do you add color to the shading like, you paint over it? Blending modes? just copy the shading but color?
YOU POSTEDDDDDD
AAAAHH IM ONE HOUR LATEEE
was really helpful though, thank you!! :3
wake the f up samurai, oridays just dropped another video
What brush do you use for the colour?
could you make a video on where to start, because I'm still in beginners level somehow ;-;
which drawing tablet do you recommend?
What application do you use
Its clip studio paint
How am I 2 days late???? OMG IM ON IT ORI

Hi
I've been drawing anime for 5 months but my coloring skills are still a mess 😢

traditional artists : how can i change the black and white to the colors without making it look messy
