    The Moltdown was one of the best things that happened to me. It was the end of my gaming addiction. Few months later I started lifting and eating well, then found a good job etc.

      And trust me on this , im speaking of experience , had 1 brother and a father with terrible violent attitudes cause of deugs/alcohol and had to take their shit everyday for a long time in my life, wow was once my neighbourhood 2 , but in the end i realized that i shouldnt "hide" somewhere to rest that much instead i could have take actions sooner, time cannot be taken back, games can.

All my chars were in 4 biggest guilds on AT. Not even a WEEK after the molten merge, 90% of people across all 4 of these guilds, stopped playing and out of my friend list that was COMPLETELY FULL with everyone being online everyday, suddenly dropped to only 1-2 friends being online every day, to eventually 0 friends being online. I have 2 good geared characters with great achievements, both went from WotLK to Cata, had sick transmog gears, and they were on Neltharion, made a lot of good in-game friends as well. And little did we know stuff like that could happen... couldn't believe it has been like a decade ago. I played for a while after the incident ocurred and it was a huuuuuge deal in the pserver community, Molten shutting down indirectly brought down other smaller servers that were not ready for the massive number of players looking for a new server to play on and everyone was trying to get a piece of the massive community that was left homeless. I recall starting a character on a Cataclysm server and there were dozen of Molten refugees on the guild I joined and talking about the "Moltdown" on public channels was extremely common. The wipeout caused Arena Tournament and Molten to merge which in my honest opinion was a net plus, Warmane now has the solo queue system for arenas and the mercenary mode for battlegrounds which I'm certain wouldnt have happened without the merge, as well as being better coded than Molten was and I find it very unlikely a second incident could happen.

    I was playing on Molten, Frostwolf was realm if I remember it, somewhere in 2010. started. Before that I played not so long on retail but some hard time came in to my life, lost my long time girlfriend, lost my job and got in to big debt and on top of all, most strongest pillar in my life, my mother have died, all in few months. I was crushed, depression hit hard on me, I became caveman, my thought were dark and think it was matter of days before I would take my life.
    Than I found Molten. Only thing that could keep my mind off of dark thoughts, met many good people there, had so much fun and even started laughing again. I dont care about lost chars, when u have good friends in that game it is most fun no matter are u gearing or just smashing trough pvp or pve.
    Thing is it became very toxic server, idk why and exactly when it happened but people started insulting each other on every step in game, total opposite of what it use to be. My friends started leaving server, they stopped playing game. I tried on some other servers but eventually I would always come back to Warmane, new name yeah, Became solo player, got my chars all close to 6k so i can have some fun in pvp and thats it all I would do was log in and go in to battleground with class that I fell like playing atm. Then when Blizz finally said they will make classic servers I left, linger on some private classic until Blizz opened theirs and that was end of me and Molten. Toxicity is killing that server, I know many people left bcs of that.
    Anyways I feel much better now although depression is still around me i can feel it, especially around holidays, but Molten did have big impact and even maybe saved someone life is all I wanted to say and thanks to Kaer for all the fun he gave to us

Then Moltdown, lost everything, most people didnt want to even play again so Horde pvp died and i moved to Mop realm 1 month after Moltdown, for the next 3 years that realm had an avg of 2k-3k players and it was so fun, I loved MoP so much that even it was buggy af I didnt think of wotlk anymore, pvp, mounts, titles, toys... From the stormwind channel being spammed with funny achivement names, to the broken Darkmoon faire quests, this server has kept my then-16 year old brain addicted and entertained.
    Man, I still remember spamming end time heroics (using the unreliable group finder no less!) just to get my ret pally the two handed axe, which I ended up xmogging into zinrokh destroyer of worlds (which also took a great deal of time to farm) after finding out about the xmog glitch. Good times. Shame the Molt-down happened. I
    EDIT: To the person who I met during the christmas staircase event, I hope you got the costume flask at the end of it! And hopefully, life's been good to you these days dude!

    It's really ironic how it all turned out. Before Molten, Kaer was a security admin at Neverendless-WoW and attempted a similar coup with the staff there. He met with staff of NE to start Molten and when they finally launched it, they tried ruining the economy by sending out massive amounts of gold, items, etc. to random people on NE while spamming Molten's website link. Although what Kaer did with Molten/Warmane was an amazing feat even to this day, it started out by screwing over another server that had entrusted him. I guess Hermes was Kaers karma.

    Thank you for this. It was so emotional for me. I had 5+ years with molten since age 11. You can see from my channel my guild actually basically became the only major guild in the pure pvp realm of Warsong in molten wow’s cataclysm. I had insiders, I had so much drama, we had 3k+ active members, the only active guild, so many events, we held the server alive since it was pure pvp and we were limited to what we can do. The population started strong and died overtime, but we ultimately died with the moltdown. I always said the guild would never die because we were active. As a guild leader at age 16, it devastated me. If you ever want to do an interview with me, I’d be glad to share anything. I love this game and miss much. RIP guild “BATTLEGROUND”

    RavageRose here, player #13 of Molten wow. I remember this day, was so tragic an caused a mass panic. An it also lead to a huge change in people in power and a mass abuse of their powers. I tried to stay during the progression to warmane, but many of the staff got so power hungry an especially on forums where a lot of us liked to have fun. I am now n Ascension an mainly a solo player but having a blast. I stop back in from time to time to Warmane but it just doesnt have that same feeling anymore.. to many of my old friends left an my guild fo 7 yrs faded away.

    Cixelsyd, Aixelsyd, Karenfurr, DianeNguyen, Michiruwaifu here. I miss the Cataclysm, even if it was bugged. Never knew why they took it out. Anyways, I recently had quit playing WoW again and even if donor 5 multiboxing ruined wintergrasp a lot of the time, I'm still glad I was able to enjoy the game a bit more. I always told people that they're going to forget they're on a private server when they log on and get into a city because, at least Org/Stormwind, they were always packed. Sometimes they'd even hit the 15k player cap. It's a real shame that this happened. I remember hearing about this and it was awful. I quit cuz of it for a while. It's unfortunate tbh it was really the best WoW server imo (and I had tried over 30 probably)

    Molten isn't the first place I played WoW at, but I and my real life buddies have had some good friends locally and internationally from there. Frostwolf's (back when it was still a WotLK server) Mutual Hatred gave me my first shot at a big guild. They needed a Disc Priest, and there aren't that many because it's not really a PUG friendly spec as everybody loves their Recount (which doesn't record absorbs). While I have been looking for a guild that raids in the American time zone (EU guilds don't really fit my playing times). Sadly the core members left before ICC25 HC was released.
    Then when Frostwolf was converted to Cataclysm I transferred to Lordaeron server, wherein I was adopted by a casual guild named Serenity, as I just wanted to chill down and stuff. Stayed there until I had to leave the game for real life purposes.
    It's a shame hearing about what happened with Molten. It's basically where I have started maturing lol (I was a hot-blooded competitor before getting into MH). At the very least Warmane is doing well for itself.
    I'm not really sure how this got into my recommendations (as I'm mostly following Dota and SC2 on RUclips), but thanks for the story.

    Man, this video hit the feels! It was on molten I started having the real glimpse of end game wotlk, even though it was really bad scripted it felt so good getting bis items on my warrior... I did a lot of achievment hunting (even though most of the achievs werent working for example, ulduar and old content raids were completly broken so no achievs there, and loremaster would have to be cheated by faction changing...) Still, most of the friends i made in molten are still the ONLY friends i keep on talking to this day. I remember when the moltdown happened, even typing hermes in /s was censured back ar the begining of warmane, which made me think there was some massive conapiracy going on. I admit i kinda thought Hermes was right cus he was getting straight out censured... Right now i look back at it, we have a server that is 1000% better scripted and Over all better so... Fuck it. I still have fun

    The reality was server was dying rapidly and was not generating revenue, to atleast cover hosting. Because the server was old full with bugs and bis characters they had to reset it somehow because they finally had decent core with decent scripts, but the majority of people that was donating had already lots of bis toons. To fix that they create drama and wipe the server so the people can play and stay strong together. What they give back was nothing compare to what people lost, but on the other hand if they was able to return everything to everyone the server will be at same state.

    I think Molten was much BETTER than warmane, with all the stuff available from the marketplace and even the old voting system. Given the fact that it always was pay to win, now warmane became very greedy and the whole community is quite toxic. Btw nice video, now the new donors will understand a little about the history of the server.

    • @zeloslav1762
      @zeloslav1762 2 года назад

      Old voting system was broken. You could buy everything from the marketplace for VP even items that were quest rewards and had no lvl restriction. It was stupid. You could be lvl 1 and have a weapon that was for lvl 80. Voting was always a bad system for private servers and even now on Warmane there are people that have 5k GS just from buying gear for points and they play like shit because they never had a chance to get these items legitimately.

  • @Kinook777
    @Kinook777 2 года назад

    molten, now warmane, is still a business primarily now. The main point is having that server queue in which you must wait 5-10 minutes to log in. This can be fixed by upgrading the servers, and it shouldnt be that expensive taking into account the income the server gets, but the whole business model of one realm for new players that they get to play for one year then they get migrated into the server that has a queue and the only way to overcome this is paying money kinda gives away the fact that they are desperate for people to pay to play.
