I wish I could afford Art Books. ;n; I've been writing a world since 2006 that has an aesthetic of victorian and japanese fusion architecture. The design in this film was like my vision come to life. I love it.
This movie is really amazing. I was struggling through my first university semester when I watched it and it filled me with hope. I love everything about the film, from the OST to the awesome settings. San Fransisco and Tokyo are dream destinations so San fransokyo blew me away by how real and awesome it looks. Especially the exploration art behind it, is just incredible.
I loved what you said about the armature vs the professional; that's so cool! And ever since the Cuphead episode I notice how the camera is moving a little bit! And I LOOVE set design, too! Every time I see these wonderful reviews it fills me with awe--so much details in movies that I've never considered!! I wish I could buy so many!
Adam your book reviewing have made purchased like three book. Am not a known artist by any means possible. But the way you describe these books in such depth and understanding of how things flow artistically is inspiring.. by the way I have a collection of books that Only a few will die to have.. 😏😏am an avid book collector too. Beautiful studio set.. keep up that inspiration for those of us..
Holy cow I already absolutely love this book since it just simply tells you what makes good design and what the things are you need to think about but you have so much experience that you see so many things I would've never thought about! I didn't think it would be possible but now I love this book even more. Thank you!
I had a stuffed baby penguin instead of a Teddy Bear growing up... so I KNEW Baymax walked like a Penguin the moment I saw it! This was a fun movie with plenty to love, especially for myself. I grew up watching plenty of Tokusatsu shows even though I'm smack dab in the middle of the US and not one bit asian. I also wanted to build robots seeing as Robot Wars and Battlebots were shows when I was around 13-15. So I totally related to Hiro in that regard. It is weird though knowing that the Big Hero 6 concept was actually a super hero comic that never really found it's audience / popularity.
Have you seen COCO? I bought the art book immediately after watching it, and the way it portrays the land of the dead is breathtaking, and a lot of timeless themes are touched on in the movie, it's quite beautiful, I think you should review it.
There is a Minecraft community called the "Minecraft Middle Earth sever" that have reconstructed almost all of middle Earth on a huge scale, taking inspiration from mostly Tolkien's original notes and dipping into the movies when artistic inspiration is needed. You should definitely check it out.
I have seen you develop your video quality over the years and I look at this and this and it looks phenomenal! Love the slider effect cause it addes depth, but most of all how you composed the scene! Love the look and most of all the message!
Hey Adam. Thanks for this content. I found you particularly cheerful in this video. I love the rigged moving camera feel, and the overall lighting atmosphere. Thank you for the work you put out and for the words you put in artist's souls. You make a difference, certainly for me. Best regards.
Beauty lighting! It feels as though it’s timed different, prob 60 for./sec when close shots of book and hands. Mmmm....Also FYI, he always puts the art subjects/ topics on his monitors in the bg :) It’s great!
Great vid!! Thanks for the insight men. I would love a review on the art of metal gear solid. Not a fan of the game but I feel like a insight from you on that game would be amazing, since it's kinda different from what you usually look at. But ty for the vid.
Really loving the recent up in production quality! Definitely a step up this year in your videos. I like that your playing around with the camera sliders, and making some more interest in the shots! I think if theres something I'd like you to add (if your able) in these videos, maybe an additional camera taking a side angle shot. It would break up the simple back and forth mirroring in the edit. And would just make it feel as though your really talking to someone! But even without that, doing great stuff! Amazing video as ever.
Hey, I was thinking about taking your classes, because im stuck in quarantine and don't have any art classes, so I was wondering if there were any age or experience requirements for your class.
Hey Adam, do you know any books that have lots of advertisement designs and product design reference for world building? I probably need an actual marketing textbook or something but I like picture books yknow ツ
Hey! New fan here!👋 I would love to see the art of regular show it’s my favourite show and I want the book so badly! But during these times I can’t get it! thanks in advance!
Not sure if my comment can help but I’m also an artist doing world building for my personal project. So far I wouldn’t say it’s the hardest thing but it does require a lot of research and observation: what makes a city/town/village function? What kinda people live in that environment? What is the history behind that place? I live on an island so I’m taking my own history, culture, etc. that I’ve grown up studying and using it as reference and honestly just having that has made the process easier rather than making up a fantasy land completely from scratch and then just throwing in elements that might not make sense without coming of as hollow or “little Timmy’s first OC” kinda vibe. Basically it all boils down to believability and authenticity.
@@hellodelightfulrando thanks, yh i think im take your approach and fuse existing scenery with some from my imagination, im also thinking of fusing city's/country's like in big hero 6 with San Francisco and Tokyo. if you dont mind, may i ask what your idea is all about, i love hearing/learning about other peoples ideas/concepts and thanks for the inf.
saf one The best way I can describe it would be a modern fantasy with horror elements. It’s basically two young adults investigating source of supernatural parasites that transform people into monsters. I’ve been doing a lot of research into Greek and Egyptian mythology and inspiration from some of my favorite games like Dragon Age, Bloodborne and Witcher
I despised this movie. Horrible and a big mockery of the original characters from Marvel. I saw movie and was very disappointed in the style and how Disney was being more of a ripoff by having this movie copy another story from Japan called Saint Seiya Legend of Sanctuary, which had a much greater story and bigger challenges. While different, Big Hero Sux is too much about two main characters while the other is about a goddess reincarnated to be protected by her Saint warriors of Bronze while she is their healer, unlike some health care dummy robot, who lacks the mighty qualities he had in comics. Hiro was not Hiro from comics, he was a idea stealing idiotic nuisance who made Saint Seiya look smarter and fun. Wasabi is a slave token moron who could not match the awesome power of the dragon from Siryu from Legend of Sanctuary. Fredzilla is a moron stereotype hipster muck who cannot compare to his more powerful original from comic who can flatten him. The yellow Tron armor girl is nothing to Tomago who was more powerful than just throwing discs. Honey Lemon is a wuss compared to the more powerful version from comics who can pull out a bazooka from her mystic purse. Finally the villain is a huge joke. Lord Deathstrike, not Yokai, was an Asian man and a ruthless killer who could do more with those stupid micro machines than some grieving dull father who was making Avengers' Loki look better. Movie was such a big ripoff and I cannot believe people fell for it. Seen better from both Teen Titans the Judas Contract and Teen Titans Trouble In Tokyo.
I love how you always have personal experience to cite as an example for the points you want to make.
Well I'm happy you appreciate that - I'd add that these books and moves ARE personal experiences to me as well!
