He’s a medical robot meant to help with physical pain but maybe tadashi programmed him to help people with grief and other emotional pain

That wouldn't really make sense, because prior to Baymax downloading the programming to help Hero deal with grief (which occurs after he says "Tadashi is here"), he is only programmed to help with physical pain, not emotional pain.

Im just saying that even thought it IS made by Disney it is also a Marvel movie, bh6 are Marvel comics and we can see they have a connection with Marvel because Stan Lee is seen at the end of the movie.
When I first saw the movie, I was so expecting Tadashi to be under the Kabuki mask.

I thought his name was hero
The old black and white picture of the Japanese family is obviously Hiro's and Tadashi's grandfather and great-grandparents. Because colour pictures came to be a long time ago now, the family and their room in the picture look of pre-WWII era dress and design, and BH6 is obviously set somewhat in the technological future, putting a lot of age on that picture.

Well, the clothes are actually just traditional Japanese dress which is basically worn for any formal occasion, like for the "nice" family photos (e.g. the ones you'd go to a professional photographer for). And being in monochrome doesn't automatically mean that the photo is old since even modern IRL tech could do that very easily if so desired. Meaning that the kid in that photo could be a younger Tadashi and his parents before Hiro was born, explaining why there was only one kid in the photo.

Honestly that makes so much sense. I was never satisfied with the "tadashi is here line" when baymax showed the memories but this really satisfied that. Also that explains why cass never looked into that picture because then she would assume that there was only one kid because it was "tadashi" "before" hiro was born

Tadashi means "correct" or "right" in Japanese. Maybe Hero names himself this name because he is trying to set things "right" or "correct" in the time sequence.

I think Tadashi is still alive, cuz like, he ran in literally just before the explosion, so he probably saw whatever was going to actually explode and ducked behind something in an attempt to preserve his own life. There were plenty of objects in there that would offer up some kind of protection at least from the blast. Tadashi was probably burned pretty badly in the actual flames that came after the blast, and we all know what happened to Prince Zuko: severe disfiguring. Tadashi would look significantly different with those scars, and with everyone already believing that he's dead, trying to convince everyone that it's him would more likely than not be pointless. But after doing that area-wide scan, Baymax would have detected Tadashi and therefore still insist to Hiro that he's here and alive. If the gang ever did run into Tadashi on the streets, it probably would take Baymax to convince them that it's really him.

taokoyaki also remember that he would have seen Callaghan doing what he did, and that basic paranoia of endangering those he's close to would also make it harder for him to go home and let them know he's alive since he'd seen what he did and that Callaghan was so determined to stop anyone he felt was in the way or knew what he was doing. Tadashi would feel he needed to wait until the threat of Callaghan was neutralized before going back to his friends and family.
no, i think tadashi would WARN them about Callaghan if here were still alive, he wouldn't just wait for it all to blow over, because "somebody has to" warn them. the college is also really big, there's the chance he didn't get close enough to Callaghan to see what he was doing, and if so makes the theory even less possible, because he would have gone home immediately.

Funny story.... big hero 6 is based on the comics... and in the comics Tadashi comes back as SUNFIRE... yes.. he's alive and very angry... and he should actually be the villain for the next movie releasing in a couple of years..

Question how do we know the pictures are not just sent to Cass by her sister ( Cass could have put prior to getting the kids)? Also having two kids might make it harder to do family pictures or they were destroyed.

The movie took place in a fictional city, San Fransokyo, which is basically San Fransisco and Tokyo smushed together. There were multiple Japanese things featured(I'm an otaku so I should know), so it wouldn't be surprising that the meaning behind Tadashi's name could mean he's trying to correct the past.

Unterstand that you have only one life no mater where or when you choose to leave it. so if at some point you travel buck in time and decide to stay there then you vanish from your time point. and when the time comes you repeat the prosses the question is what happens to the future you when he arive buck to the future? ok so this is an intersting idea but 1. The portals are not time travel at all, they are teleportation. 2. that family photo is clearly an old one ( in black and white) and is probably not even of Tadashi. 3. There are photos of Hiro and Tadashi together as kids. If Tadashi was actually Hiro, then young Tadashi would look like Hiro, but they clearly have differences. 4. Baymax refers to Hiro as, Hiro. So why would he refer to him as Tadashi and Hiro? Baymax is very literal and they would have the same DNA and body scan and everything. 5. Hiro most likely has no other friends because he graduated so early, and his main thing is staying inside making robots and then going to bot fights. 6. He got Tadashi's "office" after he signed up for college because...well it was vacant. He had his hat because he picked it up right after Tadashi died. 7. Hiro circled ares with bot fights on a map, and Tadashi has probably picked him up before, and knew where to find him 8. Is it so hard to believe that Tadashi just knows Hiro well enough that he can manipulate him? 9. Tadashi is clearly smart, and is always looking out for his brother, that is why he knew Krei had the microbot. 10. Tadashi could not have set up another portal, because Krei was the only one with that technology and it was on the island. Plus, it was broken. There is no way he could have snuck the portal in in a half a second. 11. the clock is probably just Disney being lazy...not even they would animate a moving clock. 12. Abigail didn't age because the event happend just months, possibly weeks prior. 13. Hiro has an epic gap in his teeth, and teeth are one thing that every person has different. If Tadashi was Hiro, they would have the same gap, unless Hiro/Tadashi got braces at like age 5. I'm sorry to be that person but these are just my thoughts...

When I first watched Big Hero 6, I always thought that Tadashi was Hero's father, so maybe Tadashi was actually the younger version of Tadashi, Hero's father, not his brother

A stretch, it doesn't work. The picture he mentions has a 4-5 year old in it who looks really similar to older Tadashi , "Tadashi is here" is a weird way to say to Hiro you are Tadashi, Baymax is a robot he would have stated the facts. The friends thing actually makes sense because he graduated from high school at 14!! He wouldn't have had much of a chance to make friends if he's going through the grades at the speeds he did. And lastly the time travel itself is based on wormhole time travel (completely different to Back to the Future way of time travel) where you can only go back in time to where in history the wormhole was first created i.e. the test in the lab, Tadashi/older Hiro would only have been able to travel back to that point. Also there's no point in bringing up Hans at all, there's no point to do it if anything the most you could get from those easter eggs is that Fred is a descendant of Hans.

yes hiro is always gonna have to fake his death or actually die to preserve the thought of baymax so that the little hiro(the hiro that after all this will become "tadashi" and continue the loop) will upgrade him to fight calahan. after Tadashi-Hiro "dies" and Regular Hiro has the battle, Regular Hiro will figure this all out, be the minor disturbance, and realize he now has to be the Tadashi-Hiro. then again there are some holes in this plan but considering all the technology they have and can create so easily whos to say they cant actually do it.(ps if hiro breaks the loop for some random reason and doesnt continue then the whole world is basically screwed cuz there was never a Tadashi to begin with as the loop progressed. i think. i aint no scientist)

Hiro and tadashi aren’t one and the same. However here’s a theory. Hiro and tadashi look alike and share genetics very closely and since baymax’s scan would scan genetics among the other features so maybe baymax follows the orders of all people genetically related to tadashi. However this theory is quite backable.
