When I watched this movie in theaters, A young boy started crying a lot when the older brother died and his parents took him out of the theater. They came back like 15 mins later and watched the rest of the movie. After the movie the boy was still sad and teary eyed. I overheard the boys dad talking to someone. They went to watch the movie because the older brother had died recently and they were all planning on watching the movie together So they went to watch the movie anyway to try and cheer the boy up. Just tragic.

Welcome to the wonderful world of engineering.
I had a coworker who was one of our best engineers. Much lower energy than this character. Talked like he was stoned 24/7 and would talk about snowboarding all the time.
But if you were ever stuck in a coding wall, he would come up and suggest one tiny change that would magically piece everything together.

A lot of people don't realize, "Big Hero 6" is a marvel property, hence why Stan Lee had a cameo.
It was heavily modified for this movie due to two reasons. Reason 1, Big Hero 6 was a rather mature comic. Reason 2, Big Hero 6 is heavily associated with the X-Men, and even had several mutant members. Since, at the time, Fox owned X-Men and mutants, Big Hero 6 had to be heavily modified to differentiate itself from the comic.

If someone is addicted to something, or doing something potentially dangerous and you can't prevent them from doing it, then accompany them somehow. Make sure you know you've done what you can to eliminate as much danger as you can, and then be there for them through it as well. Life lessons.

Part of the genius of this movie is having the significant death happen before you really care about the person who died... because it's not their story. But it tricks you. Then the movie comes at you from the side as being about Hiro dealing with grief and HIS love for his brother and HIS feelings of loss and anger are what hit us emotionally because we've all been there in one way or another. It's brilliant storytelling. And to see Hiro go from "is this what Tadashi would have wanted" to "someone has to help" is an amazing journey for such a short film. Not a second of time wasted.

Because they wanted to show that when he was saying goodbye to Baymax it was like he was saying goodbye to Tadashi all over again. And it just melts my heart and breaks it at the same time too. The animators went so hard in this film. 🥺😭

Big hero 6 will always hold a place in my heart because of what it represents for me. No scene in any movie has ever made me cry like the sequence at 23:50. I lost my brother in 2003 and my family never really stopped to process the loss, myself included. It hit me especially hard for pretty personal reasons and I basically shut down emotionally for close to 15 years. While we ended up processing it as a family later, that scene is always a reminder to me that we take our loved ones with us, they are never truly gone.
Emotional stuff aside, glad you liked big hero 6. Its a fun film with fantastic animation and an interesting cast!

    • @zdevine591
      @zdevine591 7 месяцев назад +1

Literally nearly my exact situation, I lost my big brother when i was just a little girl roughly 12 years ago - but my family has always had issues expressing emotions to one another, so it was like one day he was there then he wasn't - and since i was so young i don't have any childhood memories (that i could clearly recall) with him. So anything to do with losing siblings always hits real hard, even to this day i find myself struggling to talk about him without choking up.
What scene kills me personally is the part where Baymax is saying that Tadashi would've lived a long life with a healthy diet and etc, ughh just gut wrenching honestly.

I've been very severely depressed for about 2/3 of my life at this point and something that can happend when one is depressed really bad for a long time is one loses the ability to cry. Which is frustrating because crying is the healthy outlet and there's this frightening sensation of wrongness about feeling like you're crying for days on end while at the same time not actually being able to. Your channel was the first of its kind I stumbled upon and sitting down to experience a familiar film through the perspective of someone else has enabled me to let go and just cry together with a random stranger on the internet. I love this movie. It's weirdly niche or maybe just overlooked, being overshadowed over the years by big budget live action superhero films, but it's earnest and heartwarming and I don't think I've met a single person who saw this movie who didn't think BayMax wasn't the most adorable robot ever (or maybe tied with Wall-E). I'm glad we were able to share this experience with you.
I have a handful of films you may not have seen for your consideration in the future, mostly because I feel in the Reaction-Tube arena, they haven't gotten much exposure yet:
The City of Lost Children (this is a film in French - while it's definitely better in its original language and subtitled in English, dubbing is an option and I feel it's still a good movie)
Dragonslayer (believe it or not, this is a very old Disney film!)
    The Three Amigos
    Dark City
    The Monster Squad
(the latter two might make good choices for Natmare season - they're both broadly speaking horror movies, but they're not super frightening, which I think really hits your wheelhouse scary-movie-wise)

The writing overall is a bit sub par I have to say. The thing that makes it so beloved by those who do remember it, is that relationship with baymax/dealing with grief that Hiro goes through. Honestly I think the movie would have been much better (but probably sold far worse) if it was entirely about that, and maybe have a second movie to start the whole Hero thing.

I absolutely LOVE this movie! It's got it all...action, comedy, drama, etc. The music is great, and the visuals are amazing. Also, I can't not think of Stargate (which I loved) whenever I see the portals. Fun fact: Disney went all out to create San Fransokyo (a combination for San Francisco and Tokyo) for this movie. They used public records to create rough representations of all the buildings in San Francisco, down to street lights and trees. If you know the address, you can find a similar size & type of building in San Fransokyo as it would be in the real life San Francisco. Also, they created 750,000 people, all unique (including avatars of all the film crew), to populate the city.

The series on Disney XD is pretty good too, and while it’s definitely more than just a sequel that showcases what happens immediately after the movie’s ending, I still wish we got sequel in theaters and in CG too. Disney+ is making that Baymax series, so we’ll have to wait and see…

I'm sure that you're kind of overwhelmed with requests, but... here we go! Some show suggestions:
    - Arcane, which quickly beat Squid Game to be the most popular show on Netflix
    - The Umbrella Academy, which is like a superhero show except surprisingly nuanced and mature.
    - The Legend of Vox Machina, which is an animated fantasy show based on a D&D campaign (but you don't need to know anything about D&D to enjoy it!) It was funded by a Kickstarter and had the goal of making $750,000 in 40 days. When 40 days had passed, it had raised over $11.3 million.
