Great video. Thanks so much for presenting this so well. I'm trying to source a Gippsland water dragon for our school enclosure (in Gippsland). Any ideas where I might be able to source one please?
I have gotten a hatchling in December its march now atm have it inside enclosure when would be best to transfer into the outdoor enclosure in nsw Australia also is it possible to have another ewd or other reptiles in the out door enclosure with it. Love your videos , so far having mine has been amazing my kids love it and I was surprised at how much they can be very tamed with daily handling thank you
Cheers for the video, its interesting to see 4 in together. They are a lot rarer here in the UK, so we were delighted to pick up a baby Eastern a few months ago, its settled in great. We're not sure of the sex yet, I'm assuming it wont become apparent until its at least over a year old?
Hi. Something has been taking the ducklings on our dam and we've just noticed quite a large water dragon has taken up residence. Are they known to take ducklings?
They are pretty commonly kept in the hobby. As mentioned they arent for everyone as they are not the best handling animals and require large enclosures! But they are very cool. There isnt really any morphs like albinos and such, but some have really nice blue gippslands and some believe to have darker almost melanistic easterns. But its more just variety in localities.
@@AussieReptilez ok thank you but mine has a pretty red stomatch and is a bit small ive had it for 2 years and ive tried many things to see if its male or female and i still cant get it it looks like a boy and girl so is there any other way to see?
Got a question, I’ve had an eastern water dragon since it was a juvenile and am now approaching 2 years since I got him, also got a bearded dragon which he doesn’t seem to like at all. Is it possible to merge two easterns together or is that something that has to be done when they are young? (Would prefer another male)
It can work, water dragons are semi communal species. But two adult males in a small space can result in combat especially when breeding seasons comes around. But that being said, it may work.
awesome. I just moved to Brisbane and are fascinated by these things. Had 1 come into our backward and have seen them all around since.
they are everywhere in brisbane!
Super lizard

thats awesome!
And yes, once it gets some
more size itll become apparent. Males will get a red chest and females wont.
That was awesome do you breed your own food? Do you use any heat lamps? Will you be getting a male eastern water dragon?
Do i need to add a heat light or uvb light in an outside enclosure in new zealand

Thanks for your reply. There are actually 2 of them, 1 is quite large. Are they a mated pair?
Very potentially a male and female.
Youll find the male to be larger and will have a nice dark red chest to them.
Do a lot of people keep these in Australia? Any color morphs or just locales? Cool video. Thanks. I love awd

Hello I live in France and I was wondering from what temperature can we put them outside? Thank you for your precious advice!
I do believe in France it may get too cold.
My area doesnt tend to ever go below -2°c but usually tends to go to about 3-4°c at night.
@@AussieReptilez OK, with an extra greenhouse that should do it, thank you very much and have a good day!
yeah in a green house thatd probably be perfect!
Hello, Is it possible to breed the Eastern Water Dragon outdoors all year round in Melbourne?
certainly.
Thank you

Males tend to be larger.

Females wont or may have a tiny amount of red to their chest.
