    hes gonna need a way larger enclosure

  • @puppiesarethebest4223
    @puppiesarethebest4223 2 года назад +4

    He needs at least a 5-ft tall 4 feet wide 2 feet deep enclosure because they like to climb and gave room to dig and they like water as well

    It would really help if you made a video about care for the water dragon. Such as the tank setup and the feeding requirements.

    My boy has passed away 😭 a Dubia roach escaped his bowl and my boy apparently bit one of those wood chips instead of the roach. It punctured the roof of his mouth and it got infected. He had a vet appointment Monday morning and I came home from work Sunday night and he had passed.

      I just now watched this video im super interested in getting one! Sorry to hear that brother.

      Fillywardo I would not hesitate to raise a baby if I had the opportunity. I loved this guy so much. So much personality. But I definitely would never use repti bark again. Do as much research as you can, there are alot of conflicting views on care for these guys. But it is worth it. These guys are beautiful and have a cool temperment. Good luck if you decide to get one.

      @@Clubber_Lang Did you end up staying that that enclosure in the video? I really like the size of it and it would be perfect for my lving arangment too like it was for you in the video. I hear you on the conflicting views for care part haha my least favorite part about the hobby

      Fillywardo yes I should have done a video when his enclose was finished. I was happy with it he had plants and hides and things to climb. But the size of it.. Yes that was his final tank. I brought him out at least 4 times a week. He was able to free range downstairs while I watched a game. He'd hangout with my dog. I bought one of those cheap plastic kiddie pools and I got a small leash/harness for him off etsy.. And him and my dog would soak in the little pool together getting some sun in the summer. So I didn't feel it was necessary to get a larger tank. If I never took him out then I'd have got a larger tank. But he got plenty of exercise and mental stimulation.

      @@Clubber_Lang I'm so sorry to hear. Your video was one of many that made me decide to get a Australian water dragon a few months ago. I know your guy was much older than mine is but did you ever find him to be skittish? and if so how did you tame him down? Again so sorry to hear, he was such an awesome lizard.

    How are you doing with your AWD now? I have 5 in Australia. They live in a vivarium - ponds, tree branches waterfalls. They are living the life. I have then to protect them from the feral cats around us. I had a beautiful adult male who befriended us. He was so tame - just used to come by and sit with me in the sun. I came home one day to find he had been killed by a cat.
    So now I provide a safe home.
    All the best with your AWD/EWD.

      You have to really look around on the Internet. There were 2 babies in san Diego at LLLreptiles in oceanside like a week ago. Try there.

      I've been giving him about 10-14 adult dubia roaches every day. Greens (mustard/collard/turnip) twice a week. & 1 pinky mouse every other week. But he doesn't seem to get much fatter.. What do you feed yours?

      Katy Checkley anychance you can send us the name of the book?, I just got a tank and it's way to big for a bearded dragon. So I'm getting a water dragon cause I'm chill with em used to catch em all the time cause they would sit on the road and I didn't want em to get hit
