Interesting facts about SAW (2004) (1) Cary Elwes filed a lawsuit against the producers and the production company because he only received a nominal salary with backend revenues. He claimed to have been promised 1% of the profit, which would be considerable since this film earned over $100 million globally. The case was finally settled out of court but, due to the disagreements, Elwes chose not to be involved with any of the sequels until Saw 3D (2010). (2) Leigh Whannell came up with the idea of giving John Kramer a brain tumor while spending time in a neurology ward for anxiety and headaches. He said that undergoing numerous tests and expecting bad news made him reflect on his own mortality. He used this experience in creating a character who had only a few years left to live. (3) Tobin Bell lay face down for all of the scenes set in the bathroom; no dummy was used. (4) The identity of the Jigsaw Killer is revealed early in the film, during a flashback. When Zep (Michael Emerson) says "He's a very interesting person," there is a diagram of the "Reverse Bear Trap" on John's hospital bedside table.

SO EXCITED! Honestly, I’m just like you, I absolutely HATE torture type movies. that’s honestly exactly what i thought these movies were. but honestly they were ALL the biggest surprises ever. I honestly think you’d be able to get them. they have the best, mind boggling twists and turns you’ve ever seen in any movies. Got introduced to them this year and watched all 10 within a week!
A truly FANTASTIC horror/thriller from this same writer (Leigh Whannell) is 2020's "The Invisible Man" - starring Elizabeth Moss. I think you'd have a WILD time reacting to that one! :)
I waited almost as long as you to watch these movies, thinking I was going to be so scared - and I can’t handle scary all that well - but these are actually so good! The stories, the twists. So fun.
THANK YOU I HAVE BEEN CAMPAIGNING FOR U TO WATCH THIS FOR A YEAR AND I KNEW U COULD.....THIS ISNT TERRIFIER which I would NEVER recommend thank u for leaving ur comfort zone 😂😂😂
This was amazing. I’ve been into horror since I was a kid with original universal monster movies like Dracula, wolfman, Frankenstein. And even Monster Squad which is a horror version of the goonies. Horror is pretty much all I watch and it’s so much fun watching you react to them. My favorite RUclips channel for sure. I would agree the first three are really intertwined and tell a good story. After, the story is still good but the kills get gruesome but there’s a story behind that as well and why that happens. Keep on being you girl in all your fabulousness. Your videos definitely make bad days not so bad. Much love!
I am so very proud of you for tackling this one, it's so good. I really hope you do choose to continue. The series really is just one big procedural soap opera. The gore is a LOT but the story gets so messy and juicy, I think you'd have a lot of fun with it if you could stomach it. I would at least recommend 2 and 3, that sort of finishes up the intended trilogy. Great to see you again, it's been so long!
Can’t unpause before asking (so you may have answered this already in like 10 seconds lmao) WHO THE HECK GOT HER WATCHING THE SAW SERIES??? @@AlandaParker YOU BEAT ME TO MY PITCH! You definitely should, you won’t regret it imo! The first three are definitely a cut above the rest of the franchise. 🥰
The first three are well worth watching. The plot twists are brilliant, and John/Jigsaw's back story is fascinating. There is a fan theory that Kevin McCallister (Home Alone) grew up and became Jigsaw. It's just a theory.
I came across your videos about a couple months ago, and I’ve just about watched them all! I get my horror movie fix through your reactions. They’re hilarious, and the amount of logic you put into the movie plots are PRICELESS! Keep them coming!!
So glad you finally got to watch this movie, queen! I honestly didn’t think you would do it but I was not disappointed by your reaction. I was just laughing my ass off. But yes, Jigsaw was such a troll. Dude really was sitting there playing dead the whole time. That… is the work of a mad genius. Definitely a bit sick in the head but we, the fans, find him surprisingly interesting and complex. If you decide to watch the sequels, it’s worth watching. Yes, they get pretty ridiculous over the years but it has that soap opera charm that has drawn people to it, even when they’re not hard core fans. And the music you heard at the end is known as “Hello Zepp.” It is the signature theme of the movies and always plays at the end. Charlie Clouser, who made the music is one reason why the series has lasted as long as it has. The films would not had worked without it. He used to be the keyboard player of Nine Inch Nails by the way.
“Your objective is to kill….& ain’t.” *turns tape off* 😂 I’ve watched a few of your videos. If you did decided to do more Saw I’d binge those videos. 😂
It's wonderful to see you! Adam and Dr. Gordon, I could never get bored of these two. It was such a big surprise to me that the same actor that plays Dr. Gordon is the same as Jerry, the cheerful boyfriend from Liar Liar. It's also so much fun that Adam's actor Leigh Whannell helped write most of this franchise (plus Dead Silence; Insidious 1 and 2). What a talented gentleman, along with his college mate, Mr. Wan.
It is absolutely fascinating watching a blind reaction to Saw in 2024! You're absolutely right that the films get super gross and extreme (as well as extremely confusing with the plot twists and timeline) but Tobin Bell and Shawnee Smith are highlights as characters and Bell himself puts a lot of art into the films. Saw X is half a powerful drama thanks to him.
one of the best plot twists LMAO the way i saw this in theatres and everyone gasped and yelled when he got up from the floor. please watch the sequels!
I go to turn off the TV so I can lay me down to sleep, & MAMA ALANDA COME ON MY SCREEN TRESSES STRETCHED & WITH A LOVE-A-LY BOW FOR THE CHILDREN! Ill be up for the hour! I hope you continue the franchise, the torture is 1 aspect but it's giving storyline all the way through, it's like watching a marathon of a great crime series.
Right as I'm about to eat, you always know the right time to post 🙏🙏these movies are like one long string of craziness, gore and one of the strangest crime/detective stories I've ever seen...all with varying quality lol, they get REALLY rough after like 4 but the newest one was surprisingly good
Saw 1-3 are strong, good films; they're not torture-porn or gratuitous. I've followed you for a while and I think you could handle it. Saw 2 is fun; Saw 3 had a good emotional arc for the main character. Saw X was also really well done; it has the highest rating of the entire franchise on Rotten Tomatoes at 89%. AND it has nothing to do with the later films; it takes place between Saw 1 and 2. My recommendation: Saw II, Saw III, and Saw X. You'll get a well-rounded Saw experience sticking to these, story-wise. They're gory but not horrifically so. The other movies in the series are too uneven. The traps are def just for gore and the acting gets pretty bad. The thread of the main storyline also gets convoluted after 3; it's not easy or fun to try and make sense of secret envelopes, secret tapes, double-crossing, and other crap you have to remember from every other movie. You're not going to have a good time.
Omg my god this was a GIFT!!! Definitely one of your best reactions too. I understand you don’t want to watch the rest. I do think they’re more fun and less bleak than this one, I think you would be a fan with the crazy twists and turns. But still, thanks ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Guuuurl!!! The way TOWL had me in a chokehold! Your TWD reactions are how I found you years ago. the people's favorite horror girlie has done it again. I never thought we would be taking on this insane franchise, but I'm glad you are! This movie and the sequel are probably my favorites. It does go a bit off the rails if you stick with the entire series. 👀
@@AlandaParkerSaw 2 is more or less similar to the gore in Saw 1. Saw 3 however is extremely graphic and I would not recommend it based on you saying you don’t like that stuff. Avoid Saw 3 at all costs, it’s horrifically violent, not very good either.
I was 8 when this came out ! My mum and step dad rented it and I watched it too, that whole ending with the twist and the guy cutting his foot off was a crazy and amazing movie experience 😂
LMAOO this was rlly funny. truly the saw movies aren't what critics claim they are (torture porn). theyre fking hilarious at times and they're more like soap operas with their complex ass storylines
Saw 4, 5, 6, and 7 are definitely fetish-y with the gore. But they at least continue the (very convoluted and nonsensical) story, which is entertaining. Saw 6 is my personal fav because of Rodrick and also weird criticism of American health insurance? Strangely political for a Saw film but it makes sense. But I can’t in good conscience recommend Jigsaw or Spiral, not because of gore but they just don’t feel like continuations of the series. I didn’t see Saw X yet but sounds like everyone liked it.
Proud of you Alanda!! I too, hate torture porn, so I normally would not gravitate towards these. But I saw the original SAW in movie theaters in 2004 and I loved it. I went to see Saw 2 a year later and that stopped me from continuing on with the franchise (I was a little nauseous). But I do think the first one is pretty fantastic - creepy camera angles, many references to Italian horror maestro Dario Argento, and an overall unsettling vibe. Glad you watched!
I'm sure I'll catch some heat for this but this franchise is partly responsible for saving my life. I know... it sounds ridiculous. But as a survivor of stalking, assault, and SA, these films motivated me to reconsider my circumstances when i was at the end of my rope and about to throw in the flag. The world is such a cruel, and violent place, and when it AND its systems that are supposed to support and help you grow don't... and only add to your pain and suffering, it takes more than a miracle to save you from being consumed by the darkness. Buffy, X-Men, and SAW helped do that for me. Jigsaw aka John, as flawed of a character as he is, is a testament to what can happen to a person when the world repeatedly fails you and those around you. Not only that, he's also a symbol of strength, perseverance, and justice. "Those you don't appreciate life, do not deserve life." A quote that still resonates for me in this chaotic, corrupt, bigoted, and Trump-influenced time.
This franchise is so wild as it’s so convoluted with the twists and turns it takes. The original was a pretty good start to this franchise with an iconic trap with the reverse bear trap, having billy the puppet, and the legend himself Jigsaw with one of the best horror twists ever since it’s very unexpected. This movie is pretty tame when it comes to the gore. The red coast with the pig mask was always so creepy.
Not a fan of this franchise (hype destroys everything), but I liked this one. It's actually rather subtle and minimalist compared to what would come next.
I feel like you'd be okay watching Saw 2, but I might be wrong. There's not too much more gore/body horror that's worse than this one, and has a good plot. I would definitely tell you to stop there, though. From three on the gore goes up and the story goes drastically down, haha.
Hey I don’t know if you’ll see this, but I was having a really bad day today and I saw this video on my recommended. Your reactions made me laugh and it made my day better. I just wanted you to know how special your channel is. Keep up the hard work because I can’t wait to see how it pays off for you. Many blessings❤️
Saw and Saw 2 are about the same level of gore, as in, honestly not as much as the franchise's legacy would suggest. Saw 3 is when things start getting a little gross, but the movies are still varying degrees of watchable. Saw 7 is just bad. Literally just torture porn for it's own sake. And the franchise didn't recover until last year's Saw 10.
I never thought you'd give this one a try in a million years, but that's awesome Alanda! And it also puts you in a good position for Scary Movie 4, haha.

Fun fact: the dude that plays the doctor is Carey Elwes, the same actor who played the lead in The Princess Bride.
I really do just enjoy watching these movies along with you Alanda. Truly a breath of fresh air and radiance every time you upload. Thanks for sharing your light with us
You’re so lovely 🥹 thank YOU 💛💛💛
@@AlandaParker & thank YOU! 😊
Saw II is actually very much worth checking out! I love the first 2. I enjoy the 3rd a lot too, but the first 2 are in my option essential horror viewing. After the first 3, the story just gets so convoluted, I couldn't even tell you which was which.
SAW was originally written as a stand alone film so it can totally be taken as such! 😂
Got introduced to them this year and watched all 10 within a week!
and the second is actually SO much better than this one omg. i promise.
A truly FANTASTIC horror/thriller from this same writer (Leigh Whannell) is 2020's "The Invisible Man" - starring Elizabeth Moss. I think you'd have a WILD time reacting to that one! :)
Oh my god she totally needs to watch The Invisible Man!!!!
Adding my vote for The Invisible Man. I think she would love it!
I waited almost as long as you to watch these movies, thinking I was going to be so scared - and I can’t handle scary all that well - but these are actually so good! The stories, the twists. So fun.
The Saw series got a bad rep as 'torture porn' when it is far more intricately plotted and introspective than others like Hostel
@@LordVolkovIt got a bad rap because starting with Saw 3 the movies became torture garbage. Saw 1 and 2 are the only ones that matter.
There isn't a single thing I click on FASTER than Alanda's videos!! Missed you, girl! 💙 Happy for you and TWD, love it 🎉
THANK YOU I HAVE BEEN CAMPAIGNING FOR U TO WATCH THIS FOR A YEAR AND I KNEW U COULD.....THIS ISNT TERRIFIER which I would NEVER recommend thank u for leaving ur comfort zone 😂😂😂
I’m glad to finally see someone else comment on how dilapidated this entire city apparently is lol
"can you lean down you need to be chewing on your baby's ropes" LMAO
I am sooooooo excited you’re getting into Saw!! I just discovered your channel 6 months ago, and I love it! Thank you
Can’t unpause before asking (so you may have answered this already in like 10 seconds lmao) WHO THE HECK GOT HER WATCHING THE SAW SERIES???
I loooove the whole franchise and am DYING to see her react to the first two especially but her soul doesn’t deserve this. 😭 Shame on y’all and me!!!
Okay popcorn ready 🏃♀️ 💨
after reading these comments, I'm thinking we might do the first three 👀
@@AlandaParker YOU BEAT ME TO MY PITCH! You definitely should, you won’t regret it imo! The first three are definitely a cut above the rest of the franchise. 🥰
@@AlandaParkerYay!
The first three are well worth watching. The plot twists are brilliant, and John/Jigsaw's back story is fascinating.
There is a fan theory that Kevin McCallister (Home Alone) grew up and became Jigsaw. It's just a theory.
@@AlandaParker Oh yes!!! I actually really love VI but if you at least watched the first 3 I'd be happy :D
I came across your videos about a couple months ago, and I’ve just about watched them all! I get my horror movie fix through your reactions. They’re hilarious, and the amount of logic you put into the movie plots are PRICELESS! Keep them coming!!
Just found out about my grandmother passing and seeing that you posted is bringing some much needed comfort.
sending love ❤❤
I'm so sorry for your loss, love. get some rest and don't skip meals 💛
Your introductions always make me feel seen and I appreciate it this video the most, when I needed it the most. Love you! Thank you for existing! ❤
I always love your description boxes. They always make me laugh, just like the videos!
“Your objective is to kill….& ain’t.” *turns tape off* 😂
I’ve watched a few of your videos.
Your intro was so adorable... 😭♥ first time subbing before I've even gotten to the movie
“You’re eating pumpkins” 😂💀
one of the best plot twists LMAO the way i saw this in theatres and everyone gasped and yelled when he got up from the floor. please watch the sequels!
Right as I'm about to eat, you always know the right time to post 🙏🙏these movies are like one long string of craziness, gore and one of the strangest crime/detective stories I've ever seen...all with varying quality lol, they get REALLY rough after like 4 but the newest one was surprisingly good
"I will not be watching the next one" and its such a shame because Saw II was one of my favorites 😂
Alanda! Your face when Billy the Puppet showed up 🤣
Thank you for making my weeks 🩷
Love your work, Alanda! ❤
Guuuurl!!! The way TOWL had me in a chokehold! Your TWD reactions are how I found you years ago. What I wouldn't give to have seen your reaction to episode 4 (which I have watched 9 times), and the final scene (which I could not stop smiling while watching).
Also, I'm gonna have to figure out why I didn't get the notification when you uploaded this. As always, thank you for the laughs, and for the light and joy you spread.
I was a mess throughout that series! I could not reveal it to the world 😭💀 but we’re the same for real cause I have watched (the whole thing but especially) episode 4 on REPEAT
Same! It was so good! Thank God Danai and Andy had such big roles in its creation. They were both incredible! It deserves all the awards.
the people's favorite horror girlie has done it again. I never thought we would be taking on this insane franchise, but I'm glad you are! This movie and the sequel are probably my favorites. It does go a bit off the rails if you stick with the entire series. 👀
idk we gon have to see... 😭
@@AlandaParker and that's fair! But I do think you can handle the first sequel.
@@final_queerSame ad the second is my favorite.
I personally would like to see you review Beyonce I’d love to hear your takes 😂😂
“You need a cough drop ?” 😭😭😂 me anytime Jigsaw struggling
The world is such a cruel,
and violent place, and when it AND its systems that are supposed to support and help you grow don't... and only add to your pain and suffering, it takes more than a miracle to save you from being consumed by the darkness.
I fkn hate these movies but you made it worth watching🤣💀I lost track how many times I cackled out loud😭
Love this Franchise so Much♥️🖤♥️
It's always a joy to see your reactions and to see you smile! Love from Athens, GA!
Girl, I absolutely love your channel. Thank you so much for blessing us, queeeennnn ❤❤
🥰🥰🥰 thank YOU
I promise you that you will have all your questions answered, please consider continuing! The storyline is so intricate it's such a slow burn
I never thought you'd give this one a try in a million years, but that's awesome Alanda! And it also puts you in a good position for Scary Movie 4, haha.
I love John Kramer. He’s twisted but he’s a good old man 😂😂😂
I didn't really feel for John until saw 6 and then again and in saw X
@@marklouis1890 I actually cried in SawX
@@naydenem I was closed to it. It was one of the only films to paint John in a sympathetic light
Uh...
You're so close to 100k and I'm so excited for that. You deserve that play button.
ALANDA, we love you

Also, I cannot believe you’re watching saw!! it’s so gory and stresses me out. it’s like how can yall be so dumb. it pains me how dumb the characters are 😭
