Yeah never mind Nelson Mandela, Neil Armstrong or Freddie Mercury. This actor is the one. I wouldn't give *any* man a blow job ordinarily, but *this* guy...
LaKeisha Wallace I remember the shot where it's looking over to people drinking on the roof. That was the scene where I was like "holy shit, this is fucking amazing"
I have seen Morgan Freeman in some Bad Movies. However I have never seen a Movie where Morgan Freeman was a Bad Actor. :D He's one of my most favorite actors EVER!
Yeah, "wanted" was pretty terrible, but Freeman was still good, except that one awkward line. "Now shoot this Mutha Fucka!" never sounded right to my ears.
There are bad movies with bad perfomances, more or less good movies with ridiculous performances and there are bad movies with tremendous perfomances : he played in the first and third kinds but never in the second.
I honestly can't think of a bad performance from Morgan Freeman, just a fantastic actor all the way and one of the few people I would freak out if I ever met him in real life!
Morgan Freeman needs to do more audio for people with anxiety because the second I hear his voice I forget everything and just focus on his decadent luxurious velvety voice ;) it's so beautiful x
Hands down, Red. I must have watched Shawshank Redemption over a dozen times, and I still can't get over Mr. Freeman's performance. He was also the film's narrator. What a voice.
His performance in "Street Smart" was just amazing. Everyone should see it! I swear there were scenes in that movie where it looked as if the actors were really afraid of him and not just acting. A truly great performance.
Morgan Freeman is a great actor. He really helped make the Shawshank Redemption a masterpiece with his great performance in the movie! Love that fricking movie!!
As someone who hasn't watched his older films, I knew he was good but i didn't know he was this versatile and organic at the same time. Wow. new respect for Morgan Freeman.
As a kid, I remember exactly when I first saw Morgan Freeman. It was on "The Electric Company" where he played "Easy Reader". As a lifelong readaholic, I thought he was the coolest person on TV & always knew he'd be big! I still love his voice too. He's got to be one of the most authentic actors ever.
OMG, if Morgan Freeman's voice was used as the voice on Android / iOS devices for GPS navigation, the world would navigate so much easier and more peacefully. Caught in a traffic jam, no worries....in Freeman's voice, "Are you stuck in a traffic jam? Don't worry, I'm the guy who can get you anything. And I just found a route that'll save you 15 minutes. Just ask me, and I'll make it happen. This is a crazy world we live in, but we're going to get through this together, 15 minutes shorter at a time."
Fun fact: A black Irishman is not so unfeasible considering the history of large Eastern US cities. Irish immigrants and African-Americans would often be living in the same slums, so black families marrying and taking Irish surnames was not unheard of. So yes, Red in The Shawshank Redemption could most certainly have been black. OK, I know the character in the novella describes his ginger hair, but let's just ignore that because this man is LITERALLY the voice of God and any opportunity to cast him should be taken immediately.
has to be my number 1,my dad would watch that movie over and over, that and driving miss daisy...he passed in 98' so to watch these movies now takes me back and I feel like I'm watching with him again!
Every time Morgan Freeman explains a convoluted situation he gains a even more majestic freckle on his face. to add to his already near infinite beauty...
He was fantastic in Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves. It was a strange, awkward role they assigned him, but he owned it and made it one of the cornerstones of the film.
I grew up on Morgan Freeman when he was on the PBS show, "The Electric Company". His many characters that he's played on screen will always be memorable to his many fans, myself included. He absolutely rocks!
I grew up in England. The first movie I remember seeing with Morgan Freeman in was Robin Hood. The way he said “is there no sun in this place?!” was so effectively delivered that it made laugh so much that I nearly fell off the sofa.
Se7en was only nominated for the Best Film Editing Oscar. Which is really surprising simply because of his acting involved, the film belonged to Freeman!
He is absolutely one of my favorite actors of all time. It is hard to narrow down his characters into a short list, but I would definitely add Sam from Unleashed to the list.
Read the next part in Morgan Freeman's voice: "And these fine young men will enjoy the video before they watch it. For it was to be, and it will to be. And because in time they would have watched the video, whether it be now, or in forty years, they would watch, and they would enjoy it."
The Shawshank Redemption is his greatest. His face on the bus at the end, where he begins to believe that hope and real freedom may truly be in his grasp always sears me.
Euan Cleveland this is even better than all the jokes with Chuck... I love Morgan too, he's very special kind of man- you can't find that kind of man in these days...
Here's an idea for a top ten. "Top ten declined roles that ended up being career makers". Or call it something shorter. For example, Denzel Washington refusing to play the younger cop in Seven. If you already did that one, forget I said anything.
Freeman's prison scene in Brubaker is incredible. His scene presence outshines Redford and Kotto both. When I saw this scene for the first time I was awestruck at Freeman's ability as an actor and have been a huge fan ever since.
I discovered Morgan in "Lean on me". But I really fell in love in his acting in Robin Hood. I'm Little supprised that performance was on this list. "Isn't there any sun in this country?" :-)
Like his friend Clint Eastwood. Freeman is good in EVERY performance Their collaborations in Million Dollar Baby & Unforgiven had to be on this list. Some great movies that were omitted were Kiss the Girls, Along Came a Spider, High Crimes & The Sum of All Fears. He is one of Hollywood's Best!
I love MF, he's the man and all but for the last time Mojo can you please do a fucking top ten video on MICHAEL CAINE already?! You've been asked for a long time now and it's waaaay overdue!
My favourite Top 10 Movies Of Morgan Freeman are 10..GLORY 9..OLYMPUS HAS FALLEN 8..SEVEN 7..ALONE CAME A SPIDER 6..BRUCE ALMIGHTY 5..BATMAN BEGINS 4..WANTED 3..MILLION DOLLAR BABY 2..THE DARK KNIGHT 1..THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION
My favorites include, March of the Penguins, Glory, Lean On Me, Driving Miss Daisy, Bruce Almighty. But my all time favorite Morgan Freeman movie is The Shawshank Redemption. I rented the CD when it came out and I thought, well with it being written by Stephen King, I thought another suspenseful horror movie. Well I was surprised. And happily glad. Shawshank was great. I had so hoped that Morgan would win the Oscar but I was wrong. (Tom Hanks won for Forrest Gump, I think). Morgan was so glad playing “Red” along with Tim Robbins’ Andy. I watch it every time it’s on TV.
Honestly, compared to these other performances, The Lego Movie performance doesn't really hold a candle to any of them. But sure, it could make honorable mention status.
Even though he is 78 years old, I hope he never stops making movies. Easily one of my favorite actors.
When morgan freeman dies the human race ends

Shawshank is still the best movie I've ever seen.
Just saw it 5 minutes ago and I'm still blown away. What an incredible movie that was. A piece of film history.
+darren dorado box office flop... Deserved better I loved it
Tom Wolfe I think it's the greatest movie of all time, but not my favourite
I watch it every time it comes on!
Best Happy ending of all time
He steals the show in every movie he appears, amazing actor.
nope.. just his voice lol
Bloody amazing actor..I am glad, and privileged, to have lived in the time and era, in which that man acted and have us his soul on film.

I can watch Shawshank Redemption on repeat. It is the best movie ever made in my opinion, and Freeman's performance is the main reason.
Shawshank Redemption blew me away it was an absolute masterpiece and without Morgan Freeman it definitely wouldn’t have been nearly as great
I have seen Morgan Freeman in some Bad Movies. However I have never seen a Movie where Morgan Freeman was a Bad Actor. :D
He's one of my most favorite actors EVER!
Yeah, "wanted" was pretty terrible, but Freeman was still good, except that one awkward line. "Now shoot this Mutha Fucka!" never sounded right to my ears.
I have to agree. Morgan Freeman would have to put forth a lot of effort to give a bad performance.
There are bad movies with bad perfomances, more or less good movies with ridiculous performances and there are bad movies with tremendous perfomances : he played in the first and third kinds but never in the second.
He should of won a Oscar for Shawshank Redemption
Tom Hanks did that year for Forrest Gump.
I know very unlucky sometimes their are few good movies and they both can't win but sometimes undeserving actors win them with lesser performances.
@@davimerc for supporting actor
@@indrajeetpatel5058 Freeman was nominated in the best actor category.

This guy is the king of narrating. He is by far the best narrator ever.
i absolutly loved the shawshank redemption, one of the best movies i have ever seen!!
Fabian Brink one of the greatest movies ever
Mr. Freeman's acting in Se7en & The Shawshank Redemption are not only his finest performances, they are two of Cinema's greatest.
Hands down, Red. I must have watched Shawshank Redemption over a dozen times, and I still can't get over Mr. Freeman's performance. He was also the film's narrator. What a voice.

I *LOVE* Morgan Freeman!
Se7en is one of my all time favorites and Shawshank Redemption is brilliant.
Number 1 is easy Morgan Freemans Performance as Morgan Freeman in life.
through the wormhole..
Shawshank is the best in my book...and most of it because of the music and the fact that Mr Freeman narrates it.
His performance in the Shawshank Redemption is probably the best by any actor in any film.
I had forgotten how good he was in Million Dollar Baby. Morgan Freeman is far and away my favorite actor of all time.
we need to record 1000 hours of morgan freemans voice ...

I'm from Dublin IRELAND and any time there is one of his films on TV I have to look at it , i think he is the best ever.
Shawshank Redemption = one of the best films ever made!!
Shawshank Redemption is hands down the greatest movie ever made in my opinion.
Morgan Freeman should have at least 10 Oscars..and 1 exclusively for his voice alone.
And Al Pacino should have more Oscars.

The Shawshank Redemption is his greatest. His face on the bus at the end, where he begins to believe that hope and real freedom may truly be in his grasp always sears me.
The great thing about his performance in Bruce/Evan Almighty was, he actually played the role of himself.
