To me, Smith and Whittaker have the playful and spread out spirit with this slight dark side and sadness at some point, they really make what I prefer in the doctors... And 13 being the first female doctor is quite nice too, I never understood why there was none as a kid even though the show refers to timelords changing gender after regenerating
The magic of doctor who the sound track really brought everything to a hole other level in this song with out the clip you can feel the sadness of goodbye to David but you can also feel the anticipation of who the next doctor will be.

Best is personal preference mixed with things like nostalgia, I grew up when there was no current Doc on tv so I watched some repeats and grew to like 2 and 7 the best. 9 was far better than 10 despite having just 1 series.
