Have you tried doing these in wood with your Onefinity CNC by removing the material around the leters.

I have done a couple that way. It just takes longer to do. The majority of my customers want the layered acrylic look though. Especially the ones with the brushed metal look because it is very low maintenance and cheaper than real stainless steel or something similar I guess.
