This film is also the final time we get to see Batfleck, as production for Joss Whedon's Justice League drove him to drink heavily, as he said in interviews that "he didn't have a fun experience, it was very depressing", and that his alcoholism, his stints in rehab, and his divorce from Jennifer Garner took it's toll.

The director claimed the CGI was that bad as a stylistic choice. One of the VFX artists said something along the lines of “If it looks like it was done in a week, it was.” Other VFX artists confirmed they were asked to do scenes from scratch a couple weeks before release. Another example and possibly the worst example of underpaid and overworked VFX artists who must’ve been working 20 hours a day for a couple weeks straight to get something release ready.

Agreed, I saw someone mention how when you let VFX artist take their time and do their thing they get results such as Avatar and Avatar 2 but for 90% of Hollywood movies they only get a few months if their lucky and have to be expected to deliver otherwise they don’t get paid

The movie itself was good just a shame the CGI at times was not the best and of course Millers real life antics didn't help. You're correct with the CHI artists he said the same about MCU projects with shady CGI like She Hulk for example looked lackluster as well though that whole series sucked for other reasons but yeah he was saying WB and Disney rush the CGI people so you get rushed results.

Fun fact: the reason ezra runs like he’s ice skating is because if he were running normally he’d destroy everything in his path, in one on of the scenes where u see him save that women, before, he barely slid on the ground and it destroyed the ground, he has to run like that, also the lightning passing through him he’s gotta let it flow a certain way somehow 😂

I actually really enjoyed this one. Sure some of the CGI isn’t the best, but the only time it really took me out of the movie was with the CGI babies in the beginning. I thought this was pretty good and despite Ezra Miller’s schemes, he still played a pretty damn good Barry Allen. Some of the ending cameos I didn’t think were needed, but it was cool to see some classic characters again.

I disagree with Miller playing a good Barry Allen. He's playing a character that's truly nothing like comic version of Barry Allen. Barry was a calm, rational, adult scientist that had worked for years with the police in the forensics lab. He wasn't neurotic and uncertain and just plain childish.
I have no doubt Miller was doing what the directors wanted, starting with Snyder, but to say he's a "damn good Barry Allen" is to show a lack of knowledge about who Barry Allen (as a character) is supposed to be.

It was the ending actually, and imo they should've mixed the second and third ending. You get Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Sasha Calle talking to Ezra's Barry outside of the courthouse, you build up who's the new Bruce Wayne as the timelines clearly merged and... boom, George Clooney as Bruce Wayne to close off the DCEU. I think that would've been better than either show something we won't get to see again (like Black Adam did) or just have a joke ending (Flash's third and final ending). Having both would mean we get to see familiar faces one last time while rebooting and keeping Ezra out of the new DCU lol.

The TV series Continuum was premised on time travel. It was eventually revealed that time travel was something like time travel in Flash, where each time you go back you end up on a branched reality, not on your original time line, though history up to that point of your arrival was still the same. She had something of a crisis when she realized that it was impossible for her to get back to the reality she knew.
It was a really good series, and I'd love to see someone react to it, but it's probably too obscure to ever make it on anyone's radar.

The costume department knew that the original Keaton Batman costume was very rigid and wasn't very flexible in the neck/head area, so before he showed up for fitting, they redesigned his suit with a more flexible rubber alternative.
When he arrived, they told him of the improvement... but he insisted they go back to the original style as he had all the mannerisms all worked out according to the original suit's accommodations.

Kara and Keaton were amazing to see on the big screen, and I felt like Ezra did a great job of playing two versions of the same character, that also felt like separate people w the separate lives they lived. There was never a moment where I confused the two Barry’s.
Zod and especially Faora were super under-utilised (I mean Faora didn’t even speak a word and she was one of the best parts of Man Of Steel)
A pretty messy but fitting conclusion to the DCEU, w it centering around Man of Steel given it was also the first movie of this universe.

Also in The flash TV show, the villain in the fifth season I believe is named Savitar and that's actually a future version of Barry who kept on trying to change the past. His suit was somewhat similar to this Berry with a bunch of metallic spikes.

I think timeline wise, I think it works. If his mom dying is the junction point, then we he goes back 5 mins and not back to her, he is in the same timeline. It doesn’t drastically change again til he goes back to say goodbye to his mom. Then we get Clooney.

The best things about this movie was Michael Keaton's Batman and Supergirl. I really do hope we see Sasha Calle as Supergirl again because i think she did a great job! Other than that, I thought the movie was horrible.
I knew it wasnt going to happen but I was really really hoping that since the DCEU was gonna be rebooted they would take this opportunity and make it so that Grant Gustin would end up becoming our new Flash because of the timeline being messed up. Wishful thing😅

5:49 e-trade baby. 6:50 he has some kind of armor over his suit so he would be able to slide on the asphalt. I love the whole lasso of truth scene with Batman & the Flash. 9:55 If you’ve seen “Shawshank Redemption” you should recognize the poster on the wall he phases through. 7:57 Billy Crudup was supposed to but filming schedule caused them to have to recast him with Ron Livingston. 16:03 I like how they hide his face until the reveal. I think it makes it better. 17:05 this is the Bruce Wayne that Barry needed to start with. He said things Barry needed to hear. 17:24 it’s what Commissioner Gordon finds on Jokers body in 89. 18:18 fun fact about his suit is they tried to make his suit more flexible and he said it needed to be stiffer cause of how it was in 89 & 92. He had to turn his whole body so this suit had to be the same. 19:30 a Michael Keaton “Batman Beyond” movie. That’s what DC needs to do next. 25:43 as Keaton Batman said that was Barry created a timeline mess like the cooked pasta the timeline was no longer straight. 27:21 unless cause they didn’t go back so far in time they were still in the same universe. 28:48 I like how the red paint falls off his suit as he keeps going back in time showing him changing to evil (in a way). 30:51 I think they decided to do the Superman Returns with Brandon Routh instead. 33:32 Jason Momoa must have had a blast filming this end credit scene.

Re Clooney returning for a cameo, I’m pretty sure they tried to get Bale back but he wasn’t interested. They previewed the movie early and it didn’t show him at all, just had Ezra’s ‘who the f**k is this?’ Like and then cut to credits.
It seems this movie had a LOT of delays and reshoots, I think people in charge at WB & DC at the time wanted rid of all Snyder’s versions of the characters and intended to end the movie with Keaton permanently in place as the current Batman so then the now cancelled Batwoman movie that had already been filmed with Keaton in it and also with JK Simmons (reprising his role of Gordon from Justice League) could make sense. When David Zaslov took over WB when the Discovery takeover took place, I think he decided to try and right the ship while saving costs and clearing up the audience confusion from too many different versions, and then James Gunn was put in charge to reboot the DCU, so I think they decided to do a throwaway joke at the end with Clooney. To be honest, it’s a perfect analogy for how sh**ty they’ve treated the franchises and the fans IMO.

Yeah I have to say I kind of loved this movie. I just watched it this weekend, I put it off until it was cheap because of the terrible reviews, but ended up really enjoying it. The CGI was generally bad, but was just "fine" enough for me that it did not pull me out of the movie. Maybe because the movie as a whole was more silly, and not trying to be super real.
I thought Miller was excellent, very funny and played both versions of him well. All of the cameos and nods to other universes was very fun. I thought Supergirl very good, she had very limited screen time so hard to say for sure, but I liked the look and feel of the character, I hope they keep her and don't recast or just drop the character.
The main thing I did not like, was how they never resolved Supergirl's story. I assume in the new timeline there's a good chance she is still held captive in Russia. I was hoping Barry would at least say he has to check or save her even if he does not do it in this movie. The other thing was I thought "Evil Flash" was too easy to see coming, and was way too easy to resolve.
But overall this is one of my top 3 or 4 DCEU movies.

  • @silentassason
    @silentassason 10 месяцев назад

The way it usually works with flash time travel its not so much he's going to a different universe as it is he's creating a branch in the timeline that causes a different "universe" to be created. He could get back to his exact timeline if he just reverses whatever he changed in the first place completely. The fight with Zod not creating wildly different branches is because the ripples of that change don't go as far as the ripples that saving his mom does. That's why just moving the cans to the top shelf got him mostly back to his original time with differences such as George Clooney being batman in thie time line happens as the cans moving arent as big a change as his mom surviving.
