Hi, Laurie. I was vegetarian for almost 6 years. I noticed I had less headaches, lost about 20 pounds. My skin was AMAZING. I'm gonna try again next month 🙃

Had the same experience with you. Was doing 21 lasted 7 days but I’m strongly considering going back to the eating plan. The energy is amazing. Weight loss and being regular. Insomnia was a problem but I enjoyed it. There’s also a lot of variety of foods one can eat. I tend to agree with the strategy of eating chicken and fish on weekends weekday veges fruits beans legumes and lots of water all the way. 👌

I was a vegetarian for several years at 2 different times in my life sparked by how we treat livestock in this country & how it’s processed. I eat meat now but some things I have changed is…not eating conventional meat or eggs & I have meat-free days and weeks. I also limit my red meat. I too come from a Jamaican family & goat, beef patties & jerk chicken are a part of my life! In my research to maintain a healthy lifestyle I’ve learned that you’ve got to beef up on fruits & veg to maintain longevity. I’m enjoying the content Laurie Ann! One 💚

Great Video. My wife and I sometimes give up meat in January as spiritual/religious fast but this year we've continued not eating meat since January. My skin has cleared up, been sleeping better, have seen changes in my weight, and I have more energy. We've been creative with making meals. I have my moments of missing meat and will eventually go back to Chicken or Fish. But it's been a interesting journey. We're going to see how long we can last.

Great video! I started watching you a few weeks ago and I really love your transparency. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is so hard I week especially working 12 hour shifts. Listen when I migrated to the USA I brought so much curry with me my kids asked if I'm opening a restaurant..lol. My kids and husband love love curry. I am Jamaican born but spend my latter childhood and adulthood in The Bahamas . I'm always looking for Jamaican products and we found some hot patty the other day and the kids were so happy

I gave up meat (poultry, pork and beef) in 2016. People always ask when I gave up meat did I notice a difference and I don't remember. I'm sure I prob did but it's been so long now I can't recall.
I would say a vegetarian diet works best for me. I did Vegan/Plant based for a while and it was too restricting for me. I use non-dairy creamers/milk. Most times non-dairy cheese but there are times when I do have dairy as in mac n cheese, pizza, etc. The only time I miss meat is smoked turkey in greens/green beans😂

My first two weeks of no meat I felt that I could leap a tall building. But I had to start eating fish because I started feeling off. I wasn't sluggish or anything. I didn't even get a bad body odor smell.

fish is meat, It's so funny people believing fish is a distinctive creature or something. Same for honey, it's an animal product made from bees enzymes

@@Diss-jd2un well sir. I was on a challenge with some coworkers. I know fish is meat and anything that is a byproduct of anything with eyes, mouth, digestive system is considered meat or not plant based. Evidently my body needed something that is in meat, I just chose fish.

Loved your intro statement! First 10 seconds subscribed! Fellow Caribbean girl. I’ve easily cut out pork and beef in the last decade, chickens been more challenging but the past 2 years I’ve leaned towards pescatarian for weeks or months and cut out dairy periodically and notice the difference physically & mentally. Though my goal is to be vegetarian that leans towards minimal dairy I’m not putting the pressure on myself to not ever enjoy what I’ve come to love in true moderation. Good luck on your energy sis ❤️
