A suggestion: When I make bezels similar to this, I fold the packing tape over on the ends. That way you have an area to hold that isn't sticky (making it easy to turn) and you can place pieces close together for curing without worrying that the tape will interfere by sticking to other pieces. :)
Well that's an awesome idea!
some ppl can use silicone tape and not a stick tape
So unique! I will give it a try. Thank you for the tutorial!
Lovely. I like. Tks for sharing👍
Didn't think of adding mica directly to the piece, perfect!
Thank You for these great info & i LOVE these Earrings i will gave it a try for shure like this technique. Becky i love all of your tut. videos and you are an amazing Designer!
Thanx for this new idea! It really looks so simple, and clear, and natural. Ideally!
P.S. the audio is a real ASMR, so thank you also for such enjoyment :))
Very helpful for my projects. Thank you!
Beautiful! You did such a great job demonstrating! I've been doing research on jewelry making with resin and I'm so excited to give it a try!
Thank you 😊 for all the information ❤
Instead of trimming the excess tape, I fold it over so that I have something to grip kind of like handles
Love this video!😍
Really enjoyed this video! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you
I can't wait p
Estou com um projeto de trabalhar com bijuterias de resina e gostaria muito desse vídeo em português! Apesar da delicadeza da explicação que ficou muito boa!
Thankuuuu
what kind of packing tape did you use in the end? :o
great tutorial! how long are you supposed to wait before adding any kind of color (pearl ex, mica powder, etc) to the piece?
this is an old comment, do you might've experimented and discovered what works already, but just in case you or someone else who watches this video wants to know -
ideally, you'd want to add pigment pretty much immediately - lots of folks will actually mix their pigment with one of the parts of their epoxy resin before combining the two parts together. while the resin is still fairly thin, the pigment will mix more evenly, and there's less risk of introducing a bunch of air bubbles. however, adding pigment at different points can create different effects. i sometimes brush pearl ex powders onto the resin while it's still very slightly tacky but otherwise almost totally cured.
i'd just say experimentation can lead to finding some really interesting effects - just try different stuff!
I made A similar Earring. My problem is I slightly over filled and got resin in the holes where the wires go. My question is now how do I clean out those holes. Next question you said lay it on a good sticky piece of tape so I did that and now the back of the earring a sticky. How do I get the sticky off what can I use to put on it that will be a ring. Thank you waiting to hear from you
Hello ...
I bought a resin package to make some crafts, but one of the bottles came dark brown and it supposed to be almost clear white. is it ok to use them or should i throw them???
Hi there! It depends on what kind of resin you are using. Nunn Design's Gel du Soleil comes in a brown bottle. If the resin substance itself is a dark brown, it could be old and you may not want to use it, as your finished pieces will yellow faster. I hope this helps! - Becky
Thank you for your help. I'll try to mix it with Colours to see the result. 😊
I know this is an old video, but hope someone reads this and can help. I've never used resin before, and I'm trying to buy it so I can start these projects. I've seen so many bad comments on several types of resin out there, please tell me the best to use and where to get for this project?
Mustang 2008 "Resin Obsession" has a great video w/ that info.
Looks like fun. Great tutorial, like all of Becky's tutorials. Do have a question though: wondering just how fragile these are once the resin is fully cured. Is it brittle, being so thin?
Hi there! When correctly mixed, the resin should be firm when fully cured, but not brittle. I hope this answers your question!
Thanks for your quick reply.
Amazing tutorial! how long do I have to wait before adding any kind of color (pearl ex, mica powder, etc) to the piece?
Hi there! You can add your color in soon after the resin is poured into your bezel or wire frame!
@@ArtbeadsVideos Thank you so much! This helped me a lot
I've had trouble where the resin pops out of the metal once already completed. What can I do to prevent that?
Martha Diaz did you ever solve your problem of the resin coming out of the bezel?
Is there a reason you use packing tape versus the blue painter's tape?
Darleen DeHaven blue tape leaves texture in the resin. The packing tape leaves no texture on the backside. Problem is if you are using heat to pop bubbles the tape will warp. :(
If you have a lot of resin overfill & it has hardened too much for scissors. Use a small amount of heat from a heat gun or very hot hairdryer to soften the overfill enough to be cut. Be careful to avoid the centre of your work or leave finger marks.
Which #gauge wire did you use? Perhaps 20g?
Hi these were made with pendants that come already made. You can find them here: www.artbeads.com/jewelry-supplies/nunn-design-antique-gold-large-wire-frame-drop-pendant/
how do you actually make the wire frame???
Hi Morgan! The wire frame is a Nunn Design that comes already made! You can find it here: www.artbeads.com/pend-1047.html
plzz a name of colorful
Do you have to hammer the bezel ?
Hi Barbara. The bezel comes already made (find it here: www.artbeads.com/jewelry-supplies/nunn-design-antique-gold-large-wire-frame-drop-pendant/), so you don't have to hammer it to work harden it. - Becky
What wire do you use to make a bezel?
Hi there. The frame for these earrings comes already made. You can find it here: www.artbeads.com/jewelry-supplies/nunn-design-antique-gold-large-wire-frame-drop-pendant/
Thanks for asking the same question I had ✌🏽
Subtitles would be awesome. But I was able to fallow. Thank you for the great video!
My dog barked when she hammered the bezel.
My dog gets upset every time I can only do it a little a day this fireworks, or a fire alarm battery going dead he will bark and b scared but would lick a robber to death quietly go figure lol;)
Another way to take the sticky part of is with hot water :D less time spent..
how many max layers we can put in small crafting things ?? 4 ?? more ??
It depends on the depth of your bezel or wire frame. A thin wire frame like this would only need 1 thin layer of resin. If you have a deep bezel, there could be several layers.
I was afraid to start resin wire jewelry because I thought you'd have to use a heat torch, that's great I don't have to.
What gauge is the wire?
I’ve been wondering this too. I did a little looking around on their website, and they have another frame that is 14g. It’s not this exact bezel, but it’s probably the gauge I’m going to use.
Hi Jennifer! Jensi is right, this frame is 14 gauge. I hope this helps!
@@ArtbeadsVideos Thank you!
where's your PPE??
mm of the wire??
This wire is a 14 gauge wire. You can find the pendant here: artbeads.com/jewelry-supplies/nunn-design-antique-gold-large-wire-frame-drop-pendant/
