One special nurse who provided care to Presley at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee in the mid-70s.
Almost 28 years later, registered nurse Marian J. Cocke can still remember the day Elvis Presley made his way into her life.
It was the second week in January of 1975. Marian, then a unit supervisor on a medical floor at Baptist Memorial Hospital, was asked by Elvis' personal physician, Dr. George Nichopolus, if she would personally care for Elvis. 'Dr. Nick', as Marian called him, explained that Elvis was a shy fellow and that it had taken some coaxing to get him to stay .

Thank you Joe for another great interview. I think these are all wonderful to listen to.
I hope you'll post more -- I know you were concerned about backlash from fans, but even if I don't care for a person all that much, and their memories may not be consistent with other people's accounts, I think it's very interesting to listen to them talk about their own experiences, memories, thoughts, etc.,
Ms. Cocke's description of his being shy, his insomnia, his extreme generosity, (to a fault), his love for his mother, are consistent with many other accounts.
I also liked that she didn't share his medical condition(s) -- that information would be confined within the doctor/patient confidentiality relationship.

Marian also did charity events at the Peabody Hotel after Elvis had passed to honor his legacy and the proceeds went to various local charities. It's nice to hear interviews where people who knew him have kind and loving things to say. We will never know who did what for him. Elvis looked to both nurses as motherly figures in his life. I'm glad he had them when he needed that attention.

Hey @jkreine82, Tish Henley was his nurse who was supposed to be dispensing drugs via Nichopolous's prescription pad. Why did Elvis need Marion Cocke to go to Graceland for the period she states.

I know someone who lets his little dog bark A LOT. When I'm talking, he allows it to bark loudly and incessantly with the regularity of a beeper timed to perfect one second intervals. When _he's_ talking, he tells the little dog to "cut it out" or "SHUT UP". Sometimes I lose track of what I'm trying to say because I'm so distracted. So, the barking here set my teeth on edge. I realize it's a personal problem for me....
