    Just spent 1 month in Thailand and was unable to withdraw money from atm using wise card. Had to transfer money into my girlfriend account to access cash from my wise account. Had same issue when I returned to the UK my wise card was not accepted at atm. I have just received a new wise card that seems to have resolved the problem for now.

      @Wise  7 месяцев назад

      Hey, Ivan!
      Generally our cards should work anywhere Visa/Mastercards are accepted, but if you've tried using both the old and new ones in the same ATMs, it sounds like the old card might have been damaged 🤔 If so, replacing it was a good call.
      In future, don't hesitate to reach out to our support team (either over email/phone calls, or via DMs on Facebook, Twitter/X and Instagram) - We'd be be happy to investigate and see what's up!

    I’ve just been to a Vietcom ATM in Vietnam and tried to withdraw cash with my WISE card. Limit is set correctly, yet despite whatever account options I choose, default current savings or credit, it says withdrawal not available and please contact bank for assistance. Is there something wrong with my wise account?

      Hey, Violet 👋 If your card was issued in the US, and you're a personal customer, it won’t work in Vietnam. If that's not the case, we'd need more details to investigate further. • @Wise
      @Wise  13 дней назад

      Hey there. Not being able to use your card is never ideal, especially when this happens unexpectedly.
      With that said, there are some ATM's that may provide you with a number options before you'd be able to continue with your withdrawal. And if the option 'Debit' is present then you should always go with that one, as our card is a debit card after all.
      Depending on where you are however, this option may not be present, and in those cases choosing 'Credit' should suffice in order for you to continue withdrawing funds.
      We hope this helps, but please feel free to PM or DM us on Facebook, Instagram, or X, in case you have any other questions or concerns. We'd naturally be glad to assist you.

    I'm from Singapore and intend to withdraw from ATM in Malaysia using the Wise Card, how much charges from Wise for the transaction?

    • @Wise
      @Wise  12 дней назад

      Hey there! There are 2 kinds of fees for ATM withdrawals, fixed and variable. The fixed fee is added after you've passed your 2 cost-free withdrawals- in Malaysia, this will be 5 MYR per withdrawal. The variable is added based on how much is being withdrawn, and will be 1.75% after 1000MYR has been withdrawn.
      Both fees reset after 1 month, and we can't guarantee compatibility with all ATMs. For more info on ATM withdrawal fees, check out: wi.se/withdrawalfees

    Can I withdraw cash using Wise in an ATM in Turkey, Greece and Bulgaria? If so, which option to select? Savings, chequing or credit?

    • @Wise
      @Wise  Месяц назад

      Hey, there. You can withdraw money in Turkey, Greece and Bulgaria via ATM. We'd suggest using the Mastercard/Visa ATM locator tool to locate the nearest ATM. More about that here: wi.se/whereyoucanuseyourcard
      Generally, the credit option should work. If your card is issued in Brazil before 3rd of May 2022, you should choose debit. For cards issued in Singapore, Australia and New Zealand, you can choose credit if the debit option is not available 👍

      Hi, there! If you're looking to take your Wise Card abroad, you can top it up with any currencies you want. You can load your balances with your current currency: wi.se/addmoneytoyourbalances and, after you do that, you can convert it to any other currencies you might need to use: wi.se/moneyconversion - by converting manually, you can choose to do so when the conversion rate is better for you.
      However, don't worry if you don't convert it. If you don't have the local currency in your account, our Smart Conversion tool will automatically convert the balance for you that has the lowest conversion fee. Learn more here: wi.se/smart-conversion

    I don't understand the part about cash withdrawal limit. I am from Malaysia. What if I travel to India, and I have already converted my MYR to INR and want to withdraw INR in an ATM machine in India, is it possible ? And How does the carsh withdrawal limit calculated in this case since it says that it only allowes to withdraw for 2 times. I just don't understand that part. Could you please clarify it?

    • @Wise
      @Wise  10 месяцев назад +3

      Hi. You can certainly withdraw INR in India, even if you only have MYR available. The 2 withdrawals you're mentioning, goes for free ones. You can withdraw more than 2 times, but then a small fee would apply, which we explain here: wi.se/debitcardfees. You can also check more about limits here: wi.se/wisedebitcardlimits.
      Let us know if anything's still unclear - we'd be happy to help.

    In choosing myself as a recipient to send money to my bank account, for the ACH routing and account number I put in my bank account number not the USD account detail correct?

    • @Wise
      @Wise  Год назад +1

      Hi, Anne. For context, recipient details are where the funds should arrive. So, if you're sending it to your personal bank account, then yes, you have to input your personal bank account info. But if you're sending it to your Wise account, you'll have to put in your Wise USD account details as the recipient. It depends on where you intend to send the funds to. We hope this clarifies, and let us know if you have other questions.

    If I withdraw money from an ATM, lets say Singapore Dollars from an ATM in Singapore, do I have to have that amount of money on my SGD wallet in the app, or will it just use any currency that I have money in. For eg GBP's. Thank you !!

    • @Wise
      @Wise  Год назад +1

      Hey, Richard 👋 Thanks for reaching out.
      If you withdraw cash in a currency you're not currently holding, we'll charge a conversion fee to convert it for you. Be aware that ATMs may ask to convert your money for you, so if you say yes to this option, they might charge an unfair exchange rate. So to avoid extra fees from the ATM, be sure to choose the local currency where the ATM is. For more details, check here: wi.se/withdraw-fees
      We hope that helps, but let us know if you have any other questions. Feel free to reach our DMs in other social media channels as well.

      The free withdrawals are from our side, but we still can't control any charges that a specific ATM has, so there might still be a charge. But since you're withdrawing in the local currency, the fee shouldn't be too high much. 220THB seems quite a high fee, but depends on your overall amount of course. Just in case, we recommend using trusted and known banks ATM's within Thailand. More about withdrawal fees here: wi.se/withdrawalfees

    Would I be able to withdraw Euros from my Wise Euros account using an ATM in Canada? Are there any fees associated with that since it is not local currency?

    • @Wise
      @Wise  Год назад +1

      If what you meant is getting an EUR-denominated cash from an ATM in Canada, that actually depends on the bank's ATM/machine. Generally, ATMs dispense money in the home currency (e.g. in Canada, it's in CAD).
      However, if your question is if you can withdraw money in Canada from your EUR currency balance in Wise, then that's possible - but again, the money will be in Canadian dollars. Alternatively, you can open an EUR balance, and convert your funds from your app before you withdraw it: wi.se/moneyconversion_
      But also note that we have our Smart Conversion technology that'll automatically convert the balance for you that has the lowest conversion fee. More on this here: wi.se/smart-conversion
      We hope this clarifies!

      @@Wise Thank you for your response! To clarify, I am headed to Europe this fall and I would like to withdraw a few thousand euros in cash before I go there (I have a euro balance on my Wise account). If that is not possible in Canada, I will be travelling to USA in a few days so that will be an option too. Would it be possible to withdraw euro currency in either Canada or USA? Or can I only do that in Europe where that currency is local?

    • @Wise
      @Wise  Год назад +1

      While some ATM's do offer the option to withdraw in other currencies, normally, ATM's dispense money in their local currency, which means that most likely, you'll need to withdraw EUR when in Europe.

      Hey, Fares!
      One possible reason could be that you added an account denominated in another currency 🤔 Whenever you set up a transfer, it would show you any saved accounts matching the target currency only.
      If that's not the case, we'll need to take a closer look to see what's up - be sure to DM us on either Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram, so we can help you further.

    Hi, Can I receive money in India using wise ?
    Can I use my spouse card to deposit the $20 for activation?
    How long does it take for international transfer?

    • @Wise
      @Wise  Год назад

      Great questions. If you're currently living in India, you won't be able to open currency accounts with Wise, so your account won't be able to receive 3rd party transfers. You will be able to send INR transfers both to or from your Indian bank account, though. The standard delivery time is up to 2 working days, but most transfers sent with Wise arrive sooner than that. Lastly, if the Wise account is in your name, you can only pay for your account activity with a debit card that is in your name, or from an external bank account that is in your name.

      Hey, Kevin. When spending with your card, we'll always use your Wise balance. So, as long as you have money there, regardless if you added it from your own bank account or received payments from others, there shouldn't be any issues 😉
      Keep in mind that your initial deposit has to come from an account registered under the same name as the Wise account. It doesn't have to be a bank in the US, but it should be an account in your name.

      @@Wise Just installed your app but no point of having it. Srilanka is not in the list. Added to waitlist. But how long it will take? Maybe years.....

      We don't have a time frame on when this will be available, but since you added yourself to our waitlist, we'll email you when our cards are available in Sri Lanka.
      If you have any other questions, feel free to DM us on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter, or you can call or email us here: wi.se/directcontactus
