    Best Blues Band ever. Duane and Greg Allman both gone, Dickie Betts is gone, and most everyone else has also passed away. First heard them back in 1971 while doing my tour in Vietnam. A couple Beers, a few tokes, and some Allman Bros music in the background got us through that ugly war.

    The original Allman Brothers Band is the best in that genre and are all time legends. This song is a perfect example. They can play some of the very best, deepest blues rock around, try Ain't My Cross to Bear and be blown away. Despite personnel changes over time, they were great all the way to the end in the past decade. Forever music, enjoy! 🔥🎵🎸🎤🎸🎹🎶🔥

    There are two legendary bands that put "Southern Rock" on the map in America, both coming from Jacksonville, Florida that formed in the late 1960's. One was Lynyrd Skynyrd and the other was the Allman Brothers Band. Both bands incorporate Rock, Jazz & Blues into their music and are known for their "jamming sessions". No auto tune or fake instruments...just pure musical talent and poetry at its finest!

  • @alvarhanso6310
    @alvarhanso6310 2 месяца назад +1

    Allman Brothers solos will never disappoint, especially when Duane and Dickey were in the band. They played a very limited setlist, but they would attack each song differently each night. This version of One Way Out was recorded on June 27, 1971, three and a half months before their more famous Fillmore East live recordings made up the Live at Fillmore East album. They did play One Way Out during that March run, but it was new to the repertoire, and not nearly as explosive as the one used for Eat a Peach (and subsequently used on Fillmore East rereleases, which confuses things a bit more). Dickey's solo in this one is just searing hot. He passed away in May of this year, and was an underrated guitarist and composer. He wrote some incredible instrumental pieces, In Memory of Elizabeth Reed being just the first of many. Some were haunting ike Liz Reed, others joyous like Jessica, always well crafted and intricate. Dickey used to hate being called a Southern Rock band, preferring to say the Allmans were "a progressive rock band from the South".

Two fire lead guitars, two fire drummers, fire bass, and Greg with his bluesy world-weary Deep South vocals and mellow organ fills. Damn I miss the Brothers. First saw The ABB in 1977, at a show with The Edgar Winter Group, an odd billing if you ask me. Seen them a few times since, and they are always on top of their game. With Dickey Betts (RIP), Warren Haynes and Derek Trucks, I missed Duane Allman, sadly, their Guitar work is among the best in the game. Two Drummers, Jaimoe Johnny Johnson and Butch Trucks, Derek's uncle, and the great Gregg Allman on Keys and Vocals, and Otiel Burbage on Bass, when i saw them, he's busy with other things right now, aka Dead and Company, just an amazing collection of musicians. "Live At The Fillmore East", one of the best LIVE albums ever recorded. Try "In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed", an instrumental, fairly long, but great.

    The BEST live band of the last 50 years. The album Live at Fillmore East is probably the best live album of all time. What blows me away is the fact that the oldest band member at time of recording was 24 years old. Gregg, the vocalist was *21* ! They were SO tight as a band - you don't see or hear that kind of performance EVER these days.... That was REAL live music at it's absolute best.
