True classic. My and friend and I spent many afternoons playing against the bots. I remember two scenarios. Playing on the smallest level with max bots and grenade launchers as a starting weapon. And the other is playing on the ski lodge level. We got so good at using the guided missiles that we could steer them through the inside of the building without hitting anything.
Instead of just killing the first snow guard with the sniper. You can wait till he leans the sniper on his shoulder and walk up behind him and take it from him. Kill him after or taze him. whatever made you feel more bond. The fun little things you find out in this game is really what makes it for me.
There are 3 ways you can enter the castle: Front door, Dropping in the truck from the start or go the long way around (if you go left of the bridge at the start)
One of the nice things about this game were all of the options you had for getting around the level. IIRC, there are 2 or 3 ways to get into the castle in the first level that don't involve walking through the gates. I always appreciated that.
In the mission The Exchange there is another option: You dont have to go into the castle, you can also walk around it and then go inside by another way.
Best thing about the Gamecube version (in comparison to other consoles) was multiplayer you could verse up to 8 bots and have 4 players as well compared to PS2 which had only 4 bots. This game is fun to go back in and explore the amount of cool little things and ways you can go really add to the maps and missions.
One of my favourite moments in gaming was playing Nightfire multiplayer with friends on the XBox. I was in the middle of an open field having a fight with one friend when suddenly I spot a sentinel rocket heading our way. I turned and ran for the nearest building (which was quite a ways away) as my friend shouted at me to come back and fight her. She exploded and I knew another missile was coming for me, I ran into the building and hung a left as soon as I was through the door but the friend who'd fired it managed to make the turn and curve inside the building to kill me.
The multiplayer for this game was amazingly good fun. One of the best things was the random weapons mode. Sometimes you'd get stuck with only a smoke grenade and everyone has to run to find the best weapons.
I was having a bit of an observation on the castle and i've realized that the hoarding's aren't hoardings. They're full on Crenelation's with a roof. Question now is... Is it machicolated? The bloody battlement's are extended so it would make sense that it would. Although judging by the fact that light is not shining down from in between the corbel's... The Blighting castle does not have machicolation's. BOO
007 Everything or Nothing on the PS2 was good for me too. It had Pierce Brosnan, the guy that defined my idea of Bond, with Sean Conery as second. It had the feeling of being a movie, it also had it's own music and some parts felt similar to mixing the two Bond games you showed already. It wasn't that special but I really liked it...
we do have a space missile platform from the old star wars program but it's obsolete and I doubt It can hit a ground target if it's even functioning anymore
In 007 Legends point blank shotguns literally make enemies fly away and it's hilarious 😅 Goldeneye reloaded gives the option for low G enemies in MI6 ops, so you can make them fly away with any gun if I remember correctly
Just as a point of reference, at some point in the United States history we renamed the Secretary of War to Secretary of Defense. So ALL of the US space nukes are defensive space nukes :D
Too bad more Bond games didn't have PC ports. Good thing it's practically a different game too so it's not more of the same. Goldeneye Reloaded should've been on PC as well
there is project star wars it was never "fully" implemented but was to include space defense platforms. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strategic_Defense_Initiative
I feel like it's a conspiracy, every time I finish a video, a movie or anything and I just want to go to bed ManyATrueNerd post a new video... It could happen with any youtuber but no ! Since I'm french the release time is just too perfect.
Jon, we renamed the Department of War to the Defense Department, we renamed Shell Shock to Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, when the CIA kidnaps people from foreign countries to move them to countries with legal torture they call that "extraordinary rendition," sleep deprivation torture is called "sleep management," water torture is now called "waterboarding," killing the enemy is now refered to as "a soft target," and the law that suspended search warrants for the NSA was called the PATRIOT Act, and the law renewing most of those provisions was called the FREEDOM Act. When I lived in Missouri, I found out there was a nuclear waste dump nearby named the "Weldon Springs Nuclear Waste Adventure Trail." So if America had a nuclear weapons platform in space, we probably wouldn't call it a defense platform; we'd call it a Happy Sunshine Science-Package Base.
Nightfire was an exceptional game for its time, probably not quite 'better than 007 Goldeneye' but still quite good. I recall an entire summer spent with a PS2 and a multi-tap playing 4 player on it, not to mention dozens of hours per mission getting that perfect score for each mission.
well the space platfor could be an anti balistic misile system a bit like the starwars program that was desinged ro shoot nukes down with space born lasers
Well it would be a Departmen of Defense thing(our version of the MoD) originally intended as a guaranteed response...but God only knows what we would actually do😒
Did you ever play 007 Blood Stone on the 360 Jon? Nothing amazing by any stretch of the imagination, but it was a pretty fun third person shooter with some exciting car sequences, plus it captured the feel of the Craig films pretty well.
+Many A True Nerd Have you ever played Dishonored? Its a stealthy assassin game in a steampunk london and it has so many ways of playing. I think you'd like it
"And we get multiplayer Oddjob for scum, who like cheating."
I burst out laughing when I heard that. Admittedly, I chose Oddjob every single time.
When everyone is oddjob, no one is over powered
+Klavin "When everyone is Oddjob, noone is."
+Shady Doorags ah the joy of launching your hat in a completely random direction and ending up killing someone :D
True classic. My and friend and I spent many afternoons playing against the bots. I remember two scenarios. Playing on the smallest level with max bots and grenade launchers as a starting weapon. Nightfire was fecking beautiful to play, with friends and without cause the ai was suprisingly fun.
Apparently it was made on the goldsrc engine for PC atleast dont know about console versions
This is easily still the best bond game of all time. God, I spent so many hours playing this back in the day.
I wish a James Bond movie opened with jaunty Irish music.
Damn
I love that jaunty irish music
+Wi-Fi Flapper Ikr? It's about time it made a comeback.
Actually it was rather sinister, what with the blood falling from the top of the screen.
I play that when I was in my first grade, great time with my ps2,RIP now😭
+jerry133226 Same here, except I think my brother's friend borrowed it and never returned it :S
The camera sensitivity felt quite sluggish to me, which is really weird because usually I don't get bothered by that unless I'm playing the game.
The "do you have a Geiger counter" line got me.
Hmm I played Nightfire to death on the PC as a kid, but it seems there are quite a few differences between the pc version and the gamecube version
My absolute favorite shooter for the time. Thanks for playing this.
Instead of just killing the first snow guard with the sniper. You can wait till he leans the sniper on his shoulder and walk up behind him and take it from him. Kill him after or taze him. whatever made you feel more bond. The fun little things you find out in this game is really what makes it for me.
Jon this game has so many options to do things its ridiculous.
That beginning mission has a lot of different approaches.
There are 3 ways you can enter the castle: Front door, Dropping in the truck from the start or go the long way around (if you go left of the bridge at the start)
oh yes a playtrough of my favorite bond game :D nice channel btw you got my sub
One of the nice things about this game were all of the options you had for getting around the level. IIRC, there are 2 or 3 ways to get into the castle in the first level that don't involve walking through the gates. I always appreciated that.
Even if the US had a nuclear space platform our government wouldn't tell anybody.
+Halfgnomen Surely it wouldn't be too hard to figure out - I mean, it's in space. People could just see it with a telescope, right...?
+Halfgnomen There is proposal for one, and it's public information. They couldn't hide something that big.
if we had a space defense platform it wouldn't be armed with nukes
+Halfgnomen railguns would be cheaper
Putting weapons to fire from space has been illegal for a while.
Please do more of these! This was my favorite game as a kid so it's fun to watch these videos
In the mission The Exchange there is another option: You dont have to go into the castle, you can also walk around it and then go inside by another way.

"Excuse me, I've got a shotgun and I want to get close to you."
That MATN is one smooth customer.
One of my favourite moments in gaming was playing Nightfire multiplayer with friends on the XBox. Thank you for going back to this game! It was my favorite childhood game series when my cousin showed me this!
aw hell yeah nightfire i used to play this games multiplayer all the time thanks for the nostalgia trip jon and keep up the good work
Thank the Lord a Nightfire video! Definitely in my top 10 games of all time
Not to mention there are like 3 ways into the castle...
It's very Hitman-y in terms of ways to complete a mission, right up your alley.
The multiplayer for this game was amazingly good fun. One of the best things was the random weapons mode. Sometimes you'd get stuck with only a smoke grenade and everyone has to run to find the best weapons.
used to play this alllllll the time on the hardest difficulty, there are lots of secrets hidden in the chain reaction level on the ziplines
I was having a bit of an observation on the castle and i've realized that the hoarding's aren't hoardings. They're full on Crenelation's with a roof. Question now is... Is it machicolated? The Blighting castle does not have machicolation's. BOO
Lots of people played Goldeneye with they're friends, I played night fire. Love this game to death
God how I loved this game when I was young
Everything or Nothing is also perfect, hell the theme song is a great song and is possibly my favorite Bond theme.
No-One Lives Forever 2: A Spy In Harm's Way is the best Bond game
+jbal695 The only bit i remember is the part when your trapped inside a house
are you mad? Golden Eye is, was and always will be the best bond game.
Agreed, NOLF 2 was excellent and extremely bond-like
+BongSau83 I never liked that game was a good game but for me not the best bond game.
4:50-5:00- The Best answer is we don't but we would likely call it a Defense Platform, if we did make one
i remember this game ! also car damage modeling is actually very good for a game thats almost 14 years old
Quick tip, when going into the Castle if you drop down to the left there is a secret way in
OH IT'S THIS BOND GAME! I remember this one, I played it at a friends house in 2nd grade! GOD I FEEL OLD
This brings back so many memories of the multiplayer the raptor pistol is my baby
local multiplayer 4 player split screen really worked with this, that's why it's a level above the others.
The Jaunty Irish music is honestly the best part of when you play bond games
The voice actor for Bond in this game was called Max Caulfield
Do you have a geiger counter? Sounds oddly similar from a game i've recently played...
What time in the video was that?
13:07 I promise. Had she said "Mine is in the shop," I'd stop the video right here. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 You crazy bro.
we do have a space missile platform from the old star wars program but it's obsolete and I doubt It can hit a ground target if it's even functioning anymore
Multiplayer on this was great. I remember the map with the cable car things.
Jon, have you tried to shoot down the casual lights? Like those ine the... corridors, or whatever it is in the courtyard?
Oh my I remember this game as well John Continue with bond games
In 007 Legends point blank shotguns literally make enemies fly away and it's hilarious 😅 Goldeneye reloaded gives the option for low G enemies in MI6 ops, so you can make them fly away with any gun if I remember correctly
I love this gaaaame :D
+Ejnar And there was NO autoaim on the PS2 version as far as I can remember.
+Ejnar There was autoaim on both versions, you may have just turned yours off though.
+Ejnar Xbox verition is the best
Man, I lost it at "Do you have a giger counter?"
I keep watching this and cringing every time he misses a secret. RIP
I played this on ps2, this game was amazing. This game also has such a good multiplayer.
Does anyone know that you can infiltrate the castle without getting caught by jumping into the truck?
Even after 14 years this game is still GOAT-tier for multiplayer
The thermal goggles aren't completely useless, it looked like you could still see an enemy's breath from any distance.
Whenever there's talk about orbital space weapons, I just keep thinking about _The Day of the Triffids_.
Wow I remember playing this when I was like 6. What a childhood
Night fire was my childhood.
I actually love when your videos come across licensed music.
Just as a point of reference, at some point in the United States history we renamed the Secretary of War to Secretary of Defense. So ALL of the US space nukes are defensive space nukes :D
OMG the memories this is bring back
I love you. You are one of my favorite commentators. Nuff' said.
I used to play this game constantly on my ps2 (it was the only game I had) XD I loved it
Awesome Jon, love some Nightfire nostalgia.
You're in luck, more driving in the next part! Huge nostalgia wave just hit me
The PC version in my opinion, I preferred it more and its cutscenes were nice too bad it didn't have driving elements
It was more fps oriented and it had more stealth missions
Too bad more Bond games didn't have PC ports. Good thing it's practically a different game too so it's not more of the same. Goldeneye Reloaded should've been on PC as well
I had this game for ps2 and it had to have been one of my favorite games for it.
same here, i loves this game and played is sooo much i think this is the game that got me addicted to gaming xd
there is project star wars it was never "fully" implemented but was to include space defense platforms.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strategic_Defense_Initiative
What is the MATN cover though?
I feel like it's a conspiracy, every time I finish a video, a movie or anything and I just want to go to bed ManyATrueNerd post a new video... It could happen with any youtuber but no ! Since I'm french the release time is just too perfect.
+light370 Oh ! And it's Nightfire ! God damn it... my childhood James Bond game...
Goldeneye, Nightfire, and Quantum of Solace are the top 3 007 games imo. Nightfire is the one I played the most.
Played this game with my bigger brother on PS2 xD So much fun!
This is my favorite game from my childhood. So good
As an American, I will nither confirm nor denie the possibility of a US satellite weapon platform.
I really enjoy these old games showcasing. consider doing Conflict desert storm, please I loved that game
When you get to Japan, the Aston Martin magically changes from left-hand drive to right-hand
This brings back memories.
I loved this game back in the day!
That tower mission, gave me so much stress when I first played this game.
"Everything or Nothing" is still my favorite Bond game with From Russia with Love not far behind. Those need to be next Jon!
Nightfire was an exceptional game for its time, probably not quite 'better than 007 Goldeneye' but still quite good. I recall an entire summer spent with a PS2 and a multi-tap playing 4 player on it, not to mention dozens of hours per mission getting that perfect score for each mission.
Why does this look so different from the PC version?

Well it would be a Departmen of Defense thing(our version of the MoD) originally intended as a guaranteed response...but God only knows what we would actually do😒
Did you ever play 007 Blood Stone on the 360 Jon? Nothing amazing by any stretch of the imagination, but it was a pretty fun third person shooter with some exciting car sequences, plus it captured the feel of the Craig films pretty well.
I played this on the original Xbox, it was my favorite game at the time
bond is voiced by the guy who voiced Smythe from the spiderman cartoon from the 90's
wow i had this on pc and i forgot all about it untill now !
i think its funny how the dart gun is the most powerful gun in the whole game. one hit takedowns from any range with zero noise.
Nobody tell him about the secret orbital defense platform. He'll inform the Queen
I think that Jon's jaunty Irish music Bond opening, is better that the normal Bond theme opening
SO MUCH YES! SO MUCH YES!
it dosn't make physical sense if when you shoot someone with a shot gun and they go flying
I think it's more of a shoot down nukes situation. and having that down would leave things vulnerable to attack.
I still have this for the original xbox
+Many A True Nerd will there be a part 2?
+Roy Smith Yep, this is this week's mid-week mini-series, so I'll finish the game tomorrow and Thursday :)
Awesome!
+Many A True Nerd Have you ever played Dishonored? Its a stealthy assassin game in a steampunk london and it has so many ways of playing. I think you'd like it
+Matthew Loser I think he has if I'm correct. Look on the channel.
+UnknownAnon I looked for any playlists and looked it up on youtube but couldn't find it. Apparently NerdCubed did play dishonored but not MaTN
Hey Jon, have you ever played the Mission Impossible game for N64?
Ive hade this game for so long and i love it its favorite game
