2 geniuses..great to see. Love these Papa interviews, where he’s clearly up to play and nail the licks but he hangs back to let the guest shine. And asks the questions most of us would ask, to get to the basics of how others create licks👍

Stopped for just a moment to comment about the lead that Robbie plays at the intro portion. Isn't it remarkable how his deliberate lead playing changes completely transform the spirit/feel of the collective chords ?

So comfortable to watch. I like Robbie directing his teaching to the camera/us. I like how Papa asks the questions we all have and adds some supportive information. Home run.
The zoom into Robbie is great.
If I was directing I would have papa look at the camera/us more. But I am not the director.
These lessons are amazing. Every guitarist should have friends like Papa and Robbie to jam with/learn from.
    Thanks.

Thanks you! To me they are teaching the lesson so I just talk to them and interject when I feel something could be expanded upon. Thats why in the interviews I don't talk to much or look at the camera. I'll probable pick up another camera soon though so that will help haha.

Fantastic lesson, Robbie along with your great knowledge and wisdom, you have a great talent for teaching and simplifying the explanation of the lessons. Like Brett stated, you are very melodic and that makes for a good lesson and excellent playing, unlike some teachers blazing all up and down the fretboard as fast as they can which sounds like someone singing scat music, never taking a break to let the music breathe. I love your explanation of the Helix, I hope Line 6 is endorsing you. Thanks guys. Merry Christmas.

Great value. After some years of scales and pentatonics, i began hitting chord tones and arpeggios, its an open door to mix all and trying to find your style though i still resist myself to the sound of an arpeggio in a song. Thanks guys. :-)

A easy way to find your mix. scale is to play a min. scale a whole step up. So if you play a G7 chord play a Amin. scale. You can also play some licks that you would play in Amin.

This is something I noticed when taking lessons from a jazz guy: The reason jazz chords are so complicated isn't necessarily because those guys are so big-brained and harmonically advanced, it's because then they can use more notes in the solos. In other words, there are a lot fewer "wrong" notes to remember not to play.
(Also: "I'm not just repeating the idea and going, 'Hope this works'..." Damn! He's onto my method! 😀)

When you seek tones worth more than a buck and some loose change.
BTW, found that descending play of notes while barring the 1st 2 strings with the pinky a great takeaway.
Never barred pinky and worked notes to the left like that before.
Thanks for another great video guys !
