Thanks for the inspirational video. I am in a wheelchair as well and have been trying to find the right path for me. I have other health issues as well, like breathing limitation because of lung damage but listening to you gives me incentive to keep trying. Wishing you success, 👍🇨🇦

Thank you!! It is a hard struggle and I am still working.. it has been a journey of success and then unfortunately some regression but I have found some success again lately

Hey, i just found your channel. I have Spina Bifida as well, though Ive only been in the wheelchair for 9 years. I was on crutches before that. I've been struggling to control my weight since being in the chair.
Cool video. I like the concept of having the "why" for self motivation whether for fitness or whatever.

For sure! Consistency is key and finding something that works for you and is sustainable! Ive struggled with consistency but progress is progress no matter how small!

Hey thank you for the question. Right now I am trying to still cut weight so I try to stay around 1200, but please please consult a professional, I am no doctor or dietician! haha👨🏼‍⚕️

People with spina bifida, I have noticed (myself included) have poor muscle tone so it is easier for them to have a weight problem.

Hey so admittedly I have plateaued a bit around 222-223 but i have a trip in about a month and my goal is to be below 220 by March 12 and im really trying to push myself to see how low I can get by my 30th bday in April

@@AdaptedAdventures I cannot stress enough how important weight loss is for us. I am 40, and ballooned up to 260. I am no longer able to get myself off the ground, into my wheelchair. I just recently gained enough strength to where I can get into my truck without worrying that I will be stranded. The worst thing I ever did to myself, is stop playing ball...maybe one day I will get back on the court, but right now its dangerous.
Keep it up! You have no idea how much mobility/independence you lose if you let yourself go. :(

@@AdaptedAdventures: Loosing weight is by 40% training plus 60% eating, it's faster and easier to control your every meal, and never let yourself feel hungry😅
To use a plate, 30% is chicken, fish or other seafood(beef shall eat once per week), 60% is vegetables(apple, tomato and kiwi are the only fruits we can eat), 10% is carbohydrate. Eating the vegetables first, then is the protein, last is carbohydrates. If you still feel hungry then try bigger plate, to drink 3000cc water is also important. You will see the different after 1 month!!!
