SCOTT WITH DALLAS PAINT CORRECTION & AUTO DETAILING IN PLANO TEXAS SHOWS AN AMAZING TRICK TO GETTING DIRTY CAR CARPETS CLEANER www.dallaspaintcorrection.com
After watching several of your videos I finally figured out who you sound like... Ray Romano from "Everybody Loves Raymond." Love your channel!! Keep up the good work!!
Thanks for bringing back some childhood memories. I grew up in a shop in the 80s and 90s and our detail man was a miracle worker this way. Hope all's well with you and yours
Appreciate the old school tricks.... It just helps guys like myself who are just trying to get started in this business that can't afford all the fancy equipment that they have out to make the job quicker and easier. Thanks Scott for all your knowledge.
There's a lot we didnt have back in the day Scott but we got it done. Look what they offer us now. I started Detailing over 30 years ago and remember this well.
Great trick Scott. I’m about to clean my friends nightmare of a carpet and I was dreading the elbow grease it needed. This is going to save me a ton of effort. Thank you!!!
Thank you sir. I am going to use it on a car I inherited from my dad who does not drive anymore. The carpets have never been cleaned in 14 years. Will let you know how it went. ray, Oklahoma
I have a fancy Tornador, but it is so awkward that I use compressed air most of the time. I blow out under the seats before vacuuming, then do just what you demonstrated. I'm even older than you, so I'm glad you are teaching the new generation our old-timers tricks :-)
D.K. That will certainly improve the situation and may be enough. I find that the compressed air gets down into the base of carpet to remove additional grime, taking it up a notch especially on light-colored carpets.
Scott I too am an old school mechanic and take care care or detail my own cars I use this method but instead of mopping up with the second towel run over it with a wet dry vacuum then mop up it brings up the pile in that carpet that much more great videos thanks
That is a awesome trick and I'm sure I'LL use this trick from time to time but thanks for videos the are very helpful Scott keep the videos coming there's alot that people don't know and your a good teacher my friend
So funny Scott I was watching your videos last night and I cleaned my carpets this morning, the entire time I was telling myself “alright just agitate this hammered carpet.
I've owned probably 30 cars in my lifetime. I recently bought a used pickup that is okay condition but the carpet (especially on the drivers front) was just flat filthy. Salt stains, dirt, etc.. I cannot stand a filthy interior and bought some nice CoverCraft seat covers but the truck is really not worth spending the money on replacing the carpet which from Toyota is not cheap and the alternatives are lacking. Scott, I have to say the technique you outlined here is the best idea I have seen since sliced bread. I did it tonight as you outlined and the difference is night and day. I never in a million years would have thought my air compressor would be a useful detailing tool but man it sure is. Thank You for this video. It's worth it's weight in gold and you are correct - the crap that came out of the carpet onto the Micro Fiber towel was pretty astounding.
The quality of vehicles these days is shit. Cheap fuzzy carpet, thin paint, thin leather, fabric that frays if you look at it, dash boards that melt. Been detailing as long as you have and you have to admit that our job has become twice as difficult with newer cars. Cheap junk at a high price.
Yes sir. I remember how my dad used that very same trick but with a terry cloth or a vacuum cleaner. Now they made the Tornador with the hole connection with the vacuum. Xoxo from Puerto Rico 👍🇵🇷
I don't have a compressor, I would have done exactly what you did, may be not with Superclean, but carpet cleaner , agitated repeatedly with brush, wait 12 hours, vacuum. This works great for me. Love your video's, you have a lot of knowledge.
Heck yes, i figured this out years ago when i had this awful white carpet, and just happened to have a huge air compressor on the front porch. Lol my carpet was beautiful after using this trick. (And dawn dish soap/hot water) a brush and a towel. This video made me smile. I knew i wasn't crazy for doing this. Haha thank you for proving it too.
I don't understand what's so great about blowing dirt around using compressed air and a cloth to catch the dirt. Why not just use a wet/dry shop vac to suck up the dirty residue. Sometimes old tips are overrated.
Brian is old like me..lol...some of us remember the old days!..i feel blessed to have spent time with some great men and women of auto detailing of the past:)
I love your videos, this one on the carpet is umm,,????? When I saw you blowing I could see residue going all over. Is this how you still do it? Or do you extract now ? I do detailing. But not on your level. I just prefer extraction I guess. If you still do it that way and are going to detail inside of a car are you starting with the carpets and seats first? Thanks for all your videos.
I heard you say someone called you the Howard Stern of detailing and as someone who listens to Stern on a daily basis, they are absolutely right. You guys have an oddly similar timber and delivery/inflection on a lot of words. I can't un-hear it lol.
Thanks, I drive trucks and about 1 third of drivers has a air tool hooked up to their air ride seats. Scott your demo and monologue is why Thomas Jefferson never patented his inventions. He believed other people will build on his inventions and therefore society would be better off. Think of the Franklin stove which was never patented. And this is the reason why I like the RUclips channel.
have a quick question for you though I have a pickup truck with a canvas tonneau cover and would like to know how you would end up cleaning and treating this material thank you in advance for all your help
I been grabbing 2 cans of dollar general carpet cleaner for the past 10 years. I will spray the front and back down with one can. Take a scrub brush lightly work it in and in about a half hour vacuum it out at the car wash. I can assure you in the morning your carpets will smell and look brand spanking new. The extra can is for the next time you need to do it. I been using that stuff for a very long time. It's completely harmless to me and the environment and will make 40.00-50 bucks on just the interior of a cars floor. great video though
A) Tell customer stains won't come out ( not a lie in most hammered cars ) but I can dye it for $X B) Go to NAPA with year, make and model of vehicle. C) Have them make aerosol cans of dye. D) Use painters tape to tape off anything you don't want overspray on and spray it new. Turn a $100 detail into a $200 plus detail.
I have the Optima Steamer XD. This is insane. Can't wait to try this. Oh, and it has heat and moisture so It should work really well. Why am I singing "Car Wash" listening to u talk about the 70's😂
I tried the superclean dillution to do the carpets. I agitated it with brush and rewet a little like you did. But I have terrible browning. Once the carpet dries, it turns brown and kinda crusty eventhough it looked clean immediately after I cleaned it. What am I doing wrong??
deemechanic1 lightly Mist the carpets again and rewipe. The residual dirt is wicking up to the carpet fibers. Ever so slightly Mist it like I said and wipe again to remove the Stain. Spraying too heavily we'll just continue the problem
That's because your leaving suds soap behind. will happen every time if you listen to this guy. He should have finished with some warm water and extraction /wet vac.
Greg Sullivan - That's what I do. AP + bristle brush like first half to agitate and lift, then use a shop vac instead of compressed air. Scrubbing with a brush is more aggressive than a 100PSI blast of air, and I don't think blowing drops and particles of who knows what onto everything else is worth it. But what I think what the compressed air does best is unflatten the carpet, by standing the carpet fibers up and straightening them as if it were new, which adds another dimension to the looks.
Saw your video on the carpets makes sense mr mothers over on his site is flooding carpets told him won't that ruin the padding underneath the carpet and cause mold waiting for his reply like your old school method better my friend old school is the best school it's also what is called lots of years and experience which you have best to you!
You're like me. I started to detail my own cars in the eighties(Was born in 70) but that is also where I stopped. I chose IT as a career field and "wasted" decades on tech stuff. I wish I had stayed into the automotive industry.
2:57 is what you're here for
Thnk u
Beat me to it!
Thank you!
Push up! Thanks for the 3 minutes of my life back.
THANK YOU!!
After watching several of your videos I finally figured out who you sound like... Ray Romano from "Everybody Loves Raymond." Love your channel!! Keep up the good work!!
Almost Zen iiiiiii
I think they're from the same region of the country?
Couldn't quite call that voice mannerism...but you are so right on! He is so darn 'wordy', but he gives great tips!
New Yawk, Queens?
John Afella that is 100% not a Texan accent...
Early 70's? Good God you're young Scott! But... you definitely know what you're doing! Keep it up brotha'!
Thanks for bringing back some childhood memories. I grew up in a shop in the 80s and 90s and our detail man was a miracle worker this way. Hope all's well with you and yours
Thanks for your old time carpet cleaning tricks from the 70's, Scott!
Appreciate the old school tricks.... It just helps guys like myself who are just trying to get started in this business that can't afford all the fancy equipment that they have out to make the job quicker and easier. Thanks Scott for all your knowledge.
That was one of the best videos I have ever seen for cleaning carpet. I have an air compressor. Cannot wait to try.
There's a lot we didnt have back in the day Scott but we got it done.
Look what they offer us now.
I started Detailing over 30 years ago and remember this well.
I'd rather use the powerful shop vac to extract the cleaning solution. I would followup with water spray and then extract the leftover residue.
Absolutely
Scott is only showing how it was done back in the beginning of time. Not how it should be done, sir!
Thank you.
This is what I hv been looking for .
Here in India we have basic tools, thank you.
Your technique is the best
That is an awesome trick! Thanks for taking the time to show us.
Thank you for sharing this . I too do detail and wish their were more videos out like this to show old tricks of the trade . Thank you
I have a fancy Tornador, but it is so awkward that I use compressed air most of the time. I blow out under the seats before vacuuming, then do just what you demonstrated. I'm even older than you, so I'm glad you are teaching the new generation our old-timers tricks :-)
G. Fox i think this is a waste of time just well to use tuff stuff or something and scrub with a brush just my thoughts nothing really
D.K. That will certainly improve the situation and may be enough. I find that the compressed air gets down into the base of carpet to remove additional grime, taking it up a notch especially on light-colored carpets.
If adding air cleans it better than it’s not at waste of time.
Scott I too am an old school mechanic and take care care or detail my own cars I use this method but instead of mopping up with the second towel run over it with a wet dry vacuum then mop up it brings up the pile in that carpet that much more great videos thanks

This is why I follow you. Great content.
I will start trying this method Scott have you tried formula 88 cleaner & degreaser it works great give it a try
In the old days we used brake fluid as a tire dressing. We used sos pads on white wall tires and raised white letter tires!
Ginger Fisher , remember how strong old school " fantastic " that stuff was like coil cleaner they use today .
Old school always the best.
Thanks for sharing
Best carpet cleaning tip on RUclips 👍
Ty for this awesome cleaning trick. Stay blessed.
You sound like Ray Ramano from Long island. Thanks for the tips.
My very first job was.. detailing cars back in the late 70s..and we used the air compressor to clean carpets and worked wonders..this is so very true.

Genius, I love it!. Is cleaning the dashes and the glass your last step for interior cleaning since all the stuff gets blown in the air?
Great idea! I’m definitely going to try this. I have large air compressor. Thanks !!
I remember this way of cleaning. Some still use it around here and l think l can try it on a bad carpet stain on my pick up. Thanks, Scott.
I don't have a compressor, I would have done exactly what you did, may be not with Superclean, but carpet cleaner , agitated repeatedly with brush, wait 12 hours, vacuum. This works great for me. Love your video's, you have a lot of knowledge.
thanks again, I've ruined a few carpets in my time trying to clean them
I have not tried my Tornador with Super Clean and I think it is a very poweful combination
Nice trick, this will help me .... thank you
Scott...3 cheers to you man!
thanks scott for your humour, and pragmatism
Omg lol i still do that to this day! Air is a detailers best friend!!!
Cool can you do this with the seats to. Proper old skool 👍
Heck yes, i figured this out years ago when i had this awful white carpet, and just happened to have a huge air compressor on the front porch. Lol my carpet was beautiful after using this trick. A head of the game back in the day.👍🏽 Now that's thinking outside the box .
Like always always useful info
And technics
great video. Thanks for the information.
Great tip! I'm using this technique.
I don't understand what's so great about blowing dirt around using compressed air and a cloth to catch the dirt. Why not just use a wet/dry shop vac to suck up the dirty residue. Sometimes old tips are overrated.
wow. So old school cool. Super tip gonna try it. thanks.
Great trick!! Even better attitude and outlook on life and love ❤️
Brian from apex detail uses this method in some of his videos...great tips guys!
Brian is old like me..lol...some of us remember the old days!..i feel blessed to have spent time with some great men and women of auto detailing of the past:)
Brian is only 10minutes from
me
I'll have to settle for using shop vac. Thanks for video.

He's the love child of Howard Stern and Ray Romano 🤣🤣
@@julius_the_python That's a perfect description.

AWESOME Scott
Good tip bro I'm goin try this 👍
Great vlog!
Great video. Just used this method on my car and took soms nasty stains out of the carpet.
Great idea thank you for share
Would one of them hot steam cleaners be of use here, or are they not good for the fabric?
Don't do a 3 minute intro..... had to wait til almost half the video to find out what I was
This guy talks to much. Get to it man and shut up
Your just jealous
Elric Howard no sir. He wanted feedback, so I’m giving it to him. Great video, it just some constructive criticism 😀
Have to agree.
Yes. Show us how. Go already. Super clean 2to 1 , .. thx. Good job
Gonna do it tomorrow. Thanks
hey Scott thank you for all the tips and tricks I've been a sub of your channel for a little bit now and love all the info for my personal game.....
have a quick question for you though I have a pickup truck with a canvas tonneau cover and would like to know how you would end up cleaning and treating this material thank you in advance for all your help
pistoncount
VERY INTERESTING, THANKS
Awesome tip!
Lol, your trucks floor looked just a little better than mine did yesterday before i spent 8 hours heat steam cleaning and detailing it :D
i know the feeling!..i have spent hours cleaning floors as well...auto detailing is hard work..much love my friend and thanks for your comment
I been grabbing 2 cans of dollar general carpet cleaner for the past 10 years. I will spray the front and back down with one can. C) Have them make aerosol cans of dye.

Turn a $100 detail into a $200 plus detail.
Would a vaccum work just as well?
Some of us don't want carpet from the 70"s in our vehicles or on our women ; - ) Thanks Scott!
That seems to create more work, a carpet extractor would be easier and faster
Where can you get the super cleaner
first watching good video buddy
Loves this video I never heard of this but so awesome of I had that 'tornordor'
Steam cleaner with extension cable ?
I’m learning but also like listening bc your voice reminds me of Ray Ramono.
Nice insight
why didn't I think of this when I was working for the dealer!!!!lol. So What's a good air compressor for a newbie?
Ripster you just better off useing a shop vaccum this is nonsense to me
We still do it in Mexico 🇲🇽
Great tip
I have the Optima Steamer XD. This is insane. Can't wait to try this. Oh, and it has heat and moisture so It should work really well. Why am I singing "Car Wash" listening to u talk about the 70's😂
Awesome tip
Add some spray paint when it is dry...it works on those worse stains! The old days we used dish soap for tire shine...from a old timer!
Thank u friend
I tried the superclean dillution to do the carpets. I agitated it with brush and rewet a little like you did. But I have terrible browning. Once the carpet dries, it turns brown and kinda crusty eventhough it looked clean immediately after I cleaned it. What am I doing wrong??

That's because your leaving suds soap behind. will happen every time if you listen to this guy. He should have finished with some warm water and extraction /wet vac.
Thanks for the video, now i won't have to go our and rent a carpet cleaner. Lots of people in different trades won't give away tricks and tips.
I love it get trick Scott
thanks for sharing but I do not have the air gun or access to a compressor
Amazing
Nice. Now would you please detail the entire truck. He has served you so you need to show your appreciation. I love cars and their buddies!
That's all good and great if folk have access to that stuff, most don't plus the cleaning stuff you get in the states, we in the UK don't get.
Dude I just ran into this vid I just had to laugh too cause I still do that to this day but I do it wit my steamer so cool
Gonna try this in my boat. Guys swear be Barbasol for cleaning boat carpet but I haven’t had great experience.
Get to it dude!!!!!!!!!
What if we don't have an air compressor?
Is this method better than using a wet & dry vac to simply suck up the muck?
Greg Sullivan - That's what I do. AP + bristle brush like first half to agitate and lift, then use a shop vac instead of compressed air. Scrubbing with a brush is more aggressive than a 100PSI blast of air, and I don't think blowing drops and particles of who knows what onto everything else is worth it. But what I think what the compressed air does best is unflatten the carpet, by standing the carpet fibers up and straightening them as if it were new, which adds another dimension to the looks.
I have to agree. The flattening of the fibers is also something that has to be dealt with to 'truly restore' the original look of the carpet. Thanks
How much is this airgun?
Good!
Saw your video on the carpets makes sense mr mothers over on his site is flooding carpets told him won't that ruin the padding underneath the carpet and cause mold waiting for his reply like your old school method better my friend old school is the best school it's also what is called lots of years and experience which you have best to you!
yo raymond, wheres debra? also thank you for helping me with my carpets
You're like me. I started to detail my own cars in the eighties(Was born in 70) but that is also where I stopped. I chose IT as a career field and "wasted" decades on tech stuff. I wish I had stayed into the automotive industry.
Same here, it's never too late. I'm starting to get into it and I'm 40. Been doing IT for over 12 years now and it's time to work for myself.
@@ocwaterlesswash32 I'm still young and I was wanting to get into the tech and I love detailing my cars
Good tips
Never thought of that
