Why are you taking a bit of the coffee grounds out?
✨ The coffee recipe requires 23gr dose of the coffee ground, and most of the time, the grinder is being inaccurate, either giving me too much or too little, so I have to scoop it out :)

More of these and longer versions too, please! I spend A TON of time trying to find videos just like this and am almost always disappointed. It's hard to find good ones, especially ones that don't have a music soundtrack over them and/or that don't just stare at one person (i.e. study with me videos) or an empty room. Your videos are the perfect balance of things that help one focus. Thank you for helping me focus while at home.

Just discovered your channel whilst experiencing a 'writer's block', only to realize that this is actually a perfect scenario: a struggling writer in a café, low-key enjoying the glorious virtual aroma of coffee grinding in the background, living in an alternate universe where Covid lockdowns and closures of establishments are unheard of.

I remembered during my barista days , opening shift is sometimes become so terrible esp. if the coffee shop offers a breakfast meal . But somehow it's so satisfying and fun to work in a coffeeshop!

This is how all of us in the UK are getting our coffee shop vibe now we’ve gone back into full lockdown, I miss going out, getting a coffee (double ‘spro SO fwiw) and a pastry and just watching the world go by for a while. We sometimes use it for ghost steaming, haha.. But at the time this video was recorded, I was still not confident to do the ghost steaming.. But I am now.. hehe
So you might see me using it in the futu videos
Never tried ghost steaming at home (single boiler machine + espresso drinker), I’ve seen it done once when our regular coffee place was rammed on a weekend. Props to you for learning something new tho!

I dont know why but watching this is satisfying and intimidating at the same time. How could you keep up. I have a commercial grade espresso machine at home and get totally stressed if 3 members of my family asked me to make them a cup of coffee. Well done and great content.

I'm sorry if this is a silly question, I'm no coffee expert, but once I was told by a barista that you shouldn't press the coffee, at all if you manage, in mocha pots (which for me mimics an espresso). So why when using espresso machines it's a general rule to tamp it with a considerable amount of pressure ? Cheers from Brazil and thank you for sharing this content with us :)
I never use Mokapot to make coffees, so I don't know how to answer about that part, but for tamping itself :
If you don’t tamp your coffee grounds, there won’t be enough space for the water to optimally saturate the coffee. The most important reason to tamp is to help the water along when it comes to extracting flavor from the coffee.
With tamped grounds that are tightly compressed, the water will shoot through and take with it delicious oils from the coffee. With loose grounds, you’ll have weakly flavored espresso.
If you ever make your own brew at home and find that it lacks the characteristic bold flavor and richness of a properly made espresso, improper tamping may be the culprit.
