- Working at Sour Leaf Cafe today just off Walworth road.
Really fun shift- got to run a trail shift for a new full time barista, met a fan of the channel and squeezed a fresh orange juice!
I'm definitely warming up to all the clowns as well! Do you like clowns?
Recipe for this cafe was:
18g in 28-30 seconds with 74ml of water.
The SANREMO machine measures ml of water total so its 74ml of water going through the portafilter not total espresso.

An hour of barista fighting with a scale... This was epic
That scale is the villain in his barista story
That chinese scale is the worst haha, I also have one at home cuz it was too cheap (Around $10 online), but will def buy something better when this scale break down.
I've been a barista for 6 months and I tried making latte art for the first time the other day. I went for a flower and it turned into a penis. You make it look so easy.
We’ve all botched some patterns before dw, sounds impressive honestly
I want to go where you work! I want a penis on my latte
But if someone comes in asking for penis in their latte....you'll nail it.
My heart was broken when he asked for the sugar after you'd already done the latte art-
i was just looking at the comments for this haha
Painful to watch
dont wanna be rude but omg why not ask first it hurts my eyes
Yeah that was just straight up annoying. Loved Connor's reaction to it, though. That entire process of adding the sugar to the drink had so much spite infused into it lol.
I don't think the guy cares. Its going in one way and going out the other. There is a lid on it anyway.
I thought he was serving dumbass customers based on the title lol
This video had so many good snippets in it! Along with the coffee, the interactions were lovely! Although imagine being that guy who had the job interview hearing them talking about his lack of personality 😂
Yeah that was rude he seemed normal enough
These videos are so relaxing they're an actual lifeline!! Thanks for making them! I have horrific insomnia and your videos have helped me get a few good hours of sleep that I otherwise wouldn't have gotten- so grateful 🤩
Glad they can help!
So therapeautic, thank you for continuing to upload these! So nice to see how much support people are giving this channel :)
These videos are such a vibe, man.
I love this long form content! Keep it up ❤
Loving these longer uploads

Rumour has it that Connor still does not know which side the fridge door opens to

i just discovered this type of video, and yeah for some reason it's so satisfying to watch!
Connor, tysm for the long videos, I love them!
You so right for this job as your a perfectionist ❤
i love these videos so much!
Loved this
I fell in love with these videos. Love the latteart and everything, so peacfull. The only thing that bothers me is how you mix every iced drinks :D. I always love to mix them myself. XDD Peace
I know sometimes I leave them for people, some cafes want you to mix them before though
Relaxing to watch x
That orange juice looked amazing!
I’ve been blessed with this video
The best hour of this day. Thanks connor
That food looked absolutely incredible!
It was!
Nicely Brewed ❤
WOW!!!! Smells 🎉
One hour of happiness
I have that scale at home, and I absolutely hate its delayed readouts. Got a replacement coming in the mail right now.
I know I'm going to lose an hour of my life but the video is worth it
its not losing time if youre enjoying what youre doing in that hour
@@yazbasarslan true
I only live for these videos now
The best hour spent.
Wow. I never knew there was a cafe with a wall of portraits of me!!! 🥰🥰
How is it that you work in different cafes? Are you like a sub for baristas on their day off? Do you belong to a swing3r-like barista club where you all exchange places to work at? Do you own any of these coffee shops? I have sooooo many questions!!
right i’ve been wondering this too. Is he like a freelance barista?😂
I need to know this too
Coffee shops see these videos and ask him to work a shift, didn't realize it was such a hard concept to understand. Have a great day!
I hate it when you throw the milk away.
If you are measuring the coffee, the chocolate, why not measure the milk needed too?
Love from Vietnam mate!❤❤❤
When he made the ones Togo he put the lids on and the latte art was hidden, it killed me a little
New subscriber here based on the southeast, keep up the good work
Thanks for subscribing!
You are throwing away too much milk mate!
definitely agree
The broken portafilter handles are driving me nuts! 😂
Same!
I love this oats milk:) actually, I'm a big fan of oat milk! It has a creamy texture and a slightly sweet taste that I really enjoy. It's a great non-dairy alternative that I find delicious and satisfying.
8:24 "I used to but then I got hit by a car" lmao wtf
I literally read this comment exactly when she said it 😂
videos that make me yearn to work at a coffee shop that isn't a st*rb^cks kiosk
How come you're so precise with the grounds but like whatever with the rest of the steps?
That scale is exactly the same with my 1st one… and it’s now dead even just used at home.
I have the same scale at home and honestly its annoying when it gets delayed
Califa is the best oat milk ive used for steaming.
How does this shop stay open? Doesn’t seem like much profit
14:03 making sure to get proper spin in there 💀
Like 0.01 gram will make a difference I can't 🤣😭
Hypnotising.
6:45 him taking one last look at his art before having to ruin it ):
Thanks
This place needs a proper scale...
18g beans to 74ml - isn't that basically a stronger double lungo instead of double espresso which was ordered?
It’s the water going in, the amount coming out is 36-ish ml each time which is a double shot. The rest is absorbed by the coffee and doesn’t come out
42:31 it`s so sad😢
So nice to hear Latin music in that cafe
thats a well rounded mashine u are working with there pal.
This one was definitely interesting...
45:19 dont worry about it its for me
watching this while drinking my cheap filter coffe is just painful
Bro good 🎉🎉
Best Channel ever!
god send
If blessings have a video😍
i need more videos
More coming every week!
So much wasted milk 😢
Yeah unfortunately it's hard not to waste milk as a barista.
We should work together.
LETS GOOOO
ASLAN BARİSTAM SEN ÇOK YAŞA
❤
48:42 are those hairs on his hand? or are his hands covered with a cloth? 💀
Obviously you’re not a real man if you don’t know what arm hair is but sure? 🤷🏻
where's the clowns?
I think it's referring to the clown pictures on the wall
10:40 that looks kinda... wrong
too painful to Watch when Sugar added, LOL.
💖💖💖🎉🎉🎉

wasting milk is sad 😢
Why spill so much milk I domt get this
You have to fill up the milk pitcher to a certain level to make good foam, otherwise you can't make latte art and the texture will be worse (so it's not just about looking good, but also about how it feels in the mouth) . Also, you have to fill up cups to max otherwise customers think you're ripping them off,so even if you can steam less milk, you run the risk of not having enough milk in the drink, and having to steam a whole new batch of milk, thus wasting more. Eyeballing the amount of milk needed is a barista skill not many have mastered. (also depending on how much air you add in the milk, you might end up with more or less steamed milk than expected.)
@@TheSupernitro6 As a barista who has worked for Costa for over 4 years now, I couldn't agree with this statement more. The work we do as barista's is honestly overlooked far too much. It's a skill that takes time to master.
i dont understand why you keep weighing the beans, the scale obviously doesnt work that precise... 2:50
It's better than nothing, and the cafe will have standards around ratios
Weighing on a subpar scale and knowing you're close is better than eyeballing and ending up being 1+g off
Even half a gram can make a huge difference in the final espresso. And weighing it is the best way to assure good quality shots. I try to stick to 0.1g accuracy, but +/- 0.2g will do in rush situations. I never let it be more off than that, it will be very noticable if it does deviate more.
Speaking mathematically, you coulda been more efficient
