@@CarlOutside it was our go to spot on the weekends. Times have changed but I still love fishing the river , I’ve had from friends come up from down south who can’t believe what an awesome fishery it is. I agree !!
I am on the Canadian side, so not to familiar with your launches, but I do much better on the northern end of the river this time of year, Thanks for watching
Awesome to see some local walleye slamming in my hometown! I had heard guys were doing well late in the season, guess you were one of them out there getting those chunks! Great video Carl, thanks for sharing!
That’s what I started doing a few years ago, got sick of playing bumper boats and launching in target zones for car theft.. found the spring run bite up the river and followed them into the channels by June, always jigging..
❤
We used to get a bunch out in front of the Lambton Power Plant....that warm water discharge does wonder for the fishing in early winter
I used to fish there too in the winter for Browns and walleyes when it was still operational

Yes it was, Thanks
Very nice! Those were some great sized fish. They will be nice and yummy over the winter. Great video!
Thanks, they are so good, supplies are dwindling already LOL
Miss the sound of that drag! Great video as always!
Thanks, I am missing it now too, hope for some ice soon
What launch would you recommend for this time of year? Thinking of Algonac but was also tempted to travel further north

Wat it is the best temperature in October, for walleye fishing in St. Clair.
Not really sure, but I would think it really gets better below 50F or colder. That said there is always some to catch in the river year round

Thanks, I just have a hard time putting my boat away LOL
I'm just curious if you checked out their stomach contents. What were they eating.? Thanks
They generally have very little in their bellies in winter, usually just some partially digested baitfish
Lead weights 😂
@@MCK9000 Now that was funny. Thanks for making me smile.
I’d almost rather try that then the Detroit river
A lot less crowded for sure

Wen vertical gigging, stinger hook to be free, or in to plastic minnow?
I always put one point of the treble into the plastic to keep it in place
