Solo Northwoods Island Fishing Adventure

      Females are usually very fat in the spring, as they are full of eggs. The males are much leaner

      Most sections are catch and release, and you must use single barbless hooks

    Great video Carl, always enjoy watching these when I can’t get out. Always wanted to Try the solo trips but was honestly kind of freaked about bears and wolves. I guess I’d rather have a chance that they eat my buddy first while I run. Lol. Keep up the good work, I know it’s a a lot to do but the results are appreciated.

      Thanks, solo is a little unnerving for the first night but now after many solo trips I love it. Going with friends is great and I really enjoy that too, but there is something about doing the occasional solo adventure that is renewing. Thanks for watching

    Great trip! I like big fish but numbers win for me every time. I always remove the front treble hooks from all my multi hook baits. I also crush the barbs. AOSPB.

    Started with a bobber trout fishing years ago and avoided it for the longest time after. I came back to it while fishing bluegills this year and had a blast. Now I am looking for a long rod for slip bobbers to fish for whitefish, walleye, trout and everything else.

      Yes, they were an accidental stocking that took off and are all naturals now. There are some in Huron and lots in Superior

    If you want maximum fun, pitch little poppers on a light fly rod, the surface takes are an absolute riot.

    Hey Carl - whereabouts were you? I am from Newfoundland, grew up fly fishing for Atlantic Salmon. I now live in Guelph, and have yet to attempt / learn to fish for browns. Great video.

    Great video thank you, I have a question.. you said it was fly fishing only, are there signs or something posted near by the area stating this? I don't see fly fishing only in the regulations. Just artificial lures and single barbless hook. Thanks! :)

      Yes thats my bad, I just think of it as fly fishing only, but that is not the case it is single barbless, doesnt have to be a fly
