Hey Carl, just came across your channel, great vids and info, been watching quite a few. Looks like you do quite a bit up river. I actually live on the North Channel and got back into walleye fishing in the last few years, so looking for all the info I can get. Will definitely be adding these to my plastics collection, just looking forward to spring now. Thanks and cheers!
Just found your video/channel. Great detail on what to do down to little nuances of type of hooks and snaps to use and love the indoor (classroom) style explanations :) I'm newer to fishing but learning at an exponential rate thanks to greay quality videos like this. Ps - i met John Bondy while shopping at his store recently and he suggested having a good blade on you. Took the advice, and it was only thing to work when nothing else would recently. Anyways love the video, thanks!
Lived 10 minutes from the bridge my whole life and only ever pond and small river fished trying to get into if river fishing it’s nice to be able to tell where he’s at just from the short time looking up
Great video and lots of good information. Hoping to get on the St. Clair River in a couple of weeks I just subscribed to your channel and look forward to seeing more of your videos in the future.
Great video with good tips! Good primer for the upcoming walleye season. Your homemade stinger hooks look awesome with the perfect length for the specific sized bait. Could you post a "how to" video on how you make them? That would be very much appreciated by myself and also many other viewers. Thanks
Great video Carl! Love the Anglers Choice baits! That AC has become my go-to for most species! What pound test are you using to create your stingers? Also, do you ever run into issues deep hooking fish with the stinger?
Thanks, was good meeting you on the weekend!. I use 14LB fluoro for my stingers, as it fits double through the small beads I have perfectly. Deep hooking is very rare especially in cold water, I am sure it may have happened but I actually can't remember ever gut/gill hooking one. With the jig bite they really don't get much of a chance to get it deep as you can feel the bite and set immediately. Hope you have a great season!!
@@CarlOutside Thanks for the response Carl!! It was great meeting you too, I wish we had more time to chat! Gonna be trying the jig/drift on the Spanish in May...so I am gonna try and employ some of those techniques!
Thanks for the great information Carl. Look forward to more videos from the river as the weather improves. I am interested in knowing if you prefer to tip with minnows or worms for jig fishing on the St Clair? If you are a minnow guy, what size do you recommend and with new bait zone restrictions, can you suggest a good, reliable bait shop?
I prefer minnows but they are not always available, worms do work well too. When the water gets above 40-45F I don't feel its necessary to tip anymore. Ed's Bait in Wallaceburg usually has minnows and I often catch my own
@@CarlOutside I was just up at the st Mary's river at the soo locks fishing for pink salmon. We were using blade baits and killed them. Heading to the St Clair river for walleye, going too need to try the blade baits. I will let you know how it went. Thanks again.

Any tips for bank fishing the st clair river ?
I only fish off the bank at night and it can be good. I have a video on that coming in a couple weeks
Loved the video, very informative
Thank-you,..Glad it was helpful!
Great information Carl Mahalo Nui!🤙🏾
Thank-you!!
Awesome video! Just wondering what brand of jigheads those are in the video they look great. Thanks!
Honestly they are just sold bulk at a few local shops, no brand name
@@CarlOutside I found a similar looking one on bondy baits website in case anyone's looking (called the Domo's walleye jig)
Dave is the shizzle, I've slayed with his stuff
He makes great baits!!
Can you fish for walleye year round like the Detroit river?
Yes but its much better in the spring and fall

Thanks...I appreciate it!!
I asked a guy up here what he was catching walleye off shore. He said Floaters but wouldn’t show me. Do you know?
Not sure what a Floater is but I do catch lots at night on the Fluffy
