Hey just a heads up. From my research if you want that soap opera effect to go away completely you go to picture clarity in the settings and turn the “motion plus” to off. This will disable the soap opera effect on your tv.

I read your other comments, and I understand that you can use filmmaker mode to effectively turn off motion smoothing, but my concern is that I will then no longer be able to adjust other settings such as saturation, etc. I hope to completely turn off motion smoothing for all apps and inputs. I would appreciate any insight you can share. Thank you!

A five series tcl would probably rival it in picture quality, I just got the q70a as an upgrade from a 2019 4 series and it was tough to get looking better, I did get there but it wasn't night and day... other then the brightness that is. Just don't expect to have this tv produce any sense of contrast when that brightness is maxed. Anywhere between 20 and 40 and the contrast enhancer can do wonders.

Can't turn off the smooth motion in native apps currently, only can turn it off for HDMI sources - or basically turn on the "Film mode" which equals turning off the smooth motion aka soap opera effect.
Oled is definitely worth the price. I have the Q70A in my lounge and LG C1 in my Gaming room and the difference is night and day. I even have a B1 in my bedroom and I will still blow away my Q70A. When you see a movie or series in Dolby Vision or a next gen game you'll realise what I mean.
4K 120 fps HDMI 2.1 that’s the turbo motion he talks about it has free sync support and a game bar and can even on pc support 21:9 and 32:9 ratios it’s more of a gaming monitor than a tv, biggest improvement along side erc and assistance, for movies only I would save money if the 2020 is on sale but if it’s similar price it’s definitely better that one HDMI 2.1 is gonna be standard soon
Yes q70a has better design and much thinner also it can get noticeably brighter in hdr and the new OS with solarcell remote give you feel more like premium

My kids managed to crack the plastic remote within the first few weeks, the solar panel just cracked. A replacement cost me $70 shipped, luckily I had purchase insurance on my credit card to have a credit applied

I believe you are wrong. having it on the front would make it prone to spills and damages. On the back it is perfect I think because it works for a year when fully charge. if you leave it face down it will stay charged and never have to use the USB
The sound quality is on par with any built-in TV speakers, kind of flat. A soundbar will definitely be a step up. I couldn't be happier with my Sonos Arc setup with rear speakers.

No, the only advantage of this model that the 2017 model may not have is eARC. This allow for Dolby Atmos passthrough to soundbars. I have a LG 2017 OLED that has ARC that tries to pass through Dolby Atmos but always runs into bandwidth issues, eARC was the solution to that. As far as soundbars go, Dolby Digital 5.1 was the big thing, then 7.1, then soundbars, then Atmos... I think there's a lot of marketing, if you enjoy your set up I think that's the most important thing, no need to get too caught up with all the spec's
You said no backlight bleed on that black screens. Well I’de to change my samsung q70T in favour of sony x900h just because of this backlight bleed that was so creepy in dark room when watching movies. Samsung is not doing good by removing the full array local dimming feature on QLED lineup.
No, I don't think most streaming apps support 120 Hz, nor do you need to. I actually prefer "fild mode" at 24 fps otherwise at 30 or 60 fps you get the soap opera effect

I didn't want to invest in a new stand or a wall mount, sony's feet are too far apart for my stand. Best Buy is sold out (I don't have Costco). The $300 gift card pushed it for me, I can now use that towards a computer for my kid :) I'm sure q70a 65" is plenty. I'm upgrading from the 2013 Samsung UFN8000 in 55". It's a great TV but dated.

Have the same tv but 50inches big. But on a white screen or more bright colours i can see brights dots going near the edges of the frame. From the store, they said that's how it is. Does anybody have the same problem?
6:55 way too much reflection. I had a 55qn70a and had sent it back as the viewing angle are awfull. Also i was dissapointed with colours and could not get the settings right. Changed it for a 55qn90a

@@ItsJunxid Sorry, not sure how it's packaged. Protective and meant to be removed screen covers should come off easily and often have a lip to peel from, if in doubt call Samsung first!
No.. It's okay you can remove it without any problem.. Every new TVs that I know always have that kind of protective films.. It's for giving the installers peace of mind and doesn't scratch the main screen on installation process... In some regions that might be different, but it's supposed to be there...

Plastic, and beware the solar panel cracks easily - I think the kids stepped or squished it in the sofa crack and the solar panel cracked, a replacement costs about $70 shipped! So much for being eco friendly. Just build it metal like a tank and that will probably reduce waste right?
maybe its the setting done wrong, but i hate the colours on this, over saturated wierd pink and orange skin. Bad handeling of colours. Im looking at a 65 for christmas, and this tv is the worst ive seen so far.. Never show a tv in anything but standarsd or cinemar/movie mode. It looks horible, and that watered down look because of too much brightness is never good to sell you on a tv. Never saw any decent blacks. You want footage of people in caves and rocks all around, and some nature shows thrown in. Kids in crazy colours is not what sells a tv. So if this tv is actually good this is a giant fail..

This TV is better than the QN90A - QN95A, they have a blur effect on faces whereas the Q70A has great sharpness.
It looks absolutely the same as Q70T. No dimming, no antiglare coating, mediocre brightness.

When watching shows or movies on Netflix you are forced to watch with the Soap Opera Effect and can't enable filmmaker mode?
I don't think you can enable filmmaker mode in the app, just on disc settings unfortunately

Samsung QLED tvs are known for not getting burn in......Samsungs website guarantees no burn in for at least 10 years.
A QLED is an LCD tv...LCD does not have an issue with burn in...

Im looking at a 65 for christmas, and this tv is the worst ive seen so far.. Never show a tv in anything but standarsd or cinemar/movie mode. It looks horible, and that watered down look because of too much brightness is never good to sell you on a tv. Never saw any decent blacks. You want footage of people in caves and rocks all around, and some nature shows thrown in. Kids in crazy colours is not what sells a tv. So if this tv is actually good this is a giant fail..

@@TheChanClanLife Yes, it’s new for Samsung’s 2021 models. Previously the Samsung logo would be located at the center of the TV, which gave it a more symmetric look.
