Sometimes I listen to Josh’s voice and think that it’s some sort of miracle of nature, but then I think of Corlynn and Miles and his level of talent makes sense. Thank you Josh, for your amazing musicality, your impeccable writing skills, and for loaning your parents to us in Phoenix for all those years. I miss them. And congratulations to our physicians choir for another fantastic video! Canada is so thankful for your continued dedication. 💕

Perhaps I totally misunderstood this song. I have friends who have shared their dementia process and for them, these are false goals and hope. For them, this is not at all appropriate for our friends with dementia who wish there were a promise of coming back to the old reality. Many of the images of losing self and seeing broken ties to oneself are appropriate but the subsequent promise or implied promise that one will return to as things were, is not helpful. Accepting the "broken parts" as a different normal reality might be a more reassuring goal/image.

Yes, that is a misunderstanding of this song. This song is not about dementia.
Josh Ramsay's mother has Lewy Body Dementia, yes, but he did not write this song about her.
This song is about the desire to become a better person for the one you love. Please watch Marianas Trench's original music video. It's all about random acts of kindness.
We sang Josh Ramsay's song just because it's a lovely song. And because he was kind enough to do a cameo in this video, and because his mother has Lewy Body Dementia, that's why this video is promoting fundraising for the Lewy Body Dementia Association and Alzheimer Society of Canada.
One of the choir's other performances, "Ordinary Day", fundraised for the "A Dollar A Day Foundation"; funding frontline mental health and addictions programs across Canada. But the song "Ordinary Day" is not about mental illness or addiction.
Sometimes a song is just a song! :)
