ZV-E10 wins for me. It’s just about the quick focusing and the wide sensor with the changeable lenses. Also it comes with its own grip which is more convenient to have on a camera + the ease of having your battery and SD card in and out without having to remove your gimbal or the aftermarket bracket for the zv-1
If that's going to be your only camera, I'd agree but remember, the widest lens for the ZV-E10 is 12mm, which ends up effectively at only 18.6mm. You can achieve the same on the ZV-1, which offsets the smaller sensor with a bright F1.8 Zeiss lens.
@Stay at Home Dad Well that price is due to "The Great Reset" causing supply shortages... it used to be ~900 with kit lens, though that lens isn't really worth the price. The new triplet of lenses from sony is pretty nice though...
@@hulu8022 Thanks, I checked that out, but Speed boosters mess up your auto-focus, and make your image soft, so you're basically degrading your lens for the additional light and wider angle... Oh and I almost forgot: With the new SONY 11mm F1.8 prime lens, the problem has been minimized! If my math is right you end up with a 15.4mm wide angle at F1.8... That is very close to SONY's 14mm F1.8 on Full frame - I'll be extremely happy once they start shipping! I love time lapse landscape videos with the clouds rolling through the sky until night comes and beyond
Great video - quick note - the ZV-E10 operates as a crop sensor which is 1.5 times the focal length for full frame equivalent. So the kit lens of 16-50 is actually 24-75 in full frame terms. The ZV1 has a 9.4mm - 25.7mm focal length, so in full frame field of view it is 24mm- 70 (the crop factor on the 1 inch sensor is 2.73 times). So if you want to compare the 24mm on the ZV1 - you would use the 16mm focal length on the ZV-E10. (16mm x 1.5 = 24mm).
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis hey Mark, kind of crazy. I just checked your channel out and I was like whaaa.. I have watched your videos in the past haha. I love your style and honesty. Thanks for helping me out
the major difference between Zv 1 and Zv e10 is bigger sensor and interchangeable lenses, many people commented that having inter changeable lens is an advantage, but from a vloggers point of view it’s an hassle to carry around extra lenses and the fact that the Zv 1 fits in your pocket is really important when it comes to vloging. And also the fact that lenses are additional investments into the system, might even end up paying as much as the body for the lens Ps : I use an a7iii so getting a Zv 1 makes sense to me compared to the Zv e10 just cuz the portability
I agree. I have the ZVE10. It fits in my pocket: barely, and I want a new lens, but the ones I want are $500 & $600…. I would get an A6100 or 6400 maybe
I have the ZV-E10, I wanted the ability to change lenses. I think compared side by side, the E10 is the better camera. Some functions are so close that the average user won't even really notice the difference, but more skilled photographers/videographers will. Especially with the product showcase, there's a clear difference in the lag on the ZV-1. I think if you want something you can slide in your pocket and have the least fuss, the ZV-1 will suffice, but if you want more options in how you use it, the E10 is the better option. When I got mine, I immediately got the 16mm 2.8 at the same time because I knew for me 3.5 wasn't going to let in enough light in many situations I use it. I am also planning to add a couple other lenses like the 50mm 1.8 and a zoom for more options. This is my first move into a Sony body so there's a definite learning curve for the menus, but I am finding as I use it I am even more interested in getting a Sony full frame for my other photo and video work and move away from Nikon, which I've used for ages. Also, I might even grab a ZV-1 for times when I can't take a body with an interchangeable lens some place and that does happen, even with something as small as the E10.
This makes sense what you said. I wanted something I can easily put in my pickets so I went with the zv1. Maybe in future I might get the zv e10 just when I hike. Go beach. I want small things that fit in my pocket
I really liked that you expressed your own opinion and perspective on the rolling shutter which is so often emphasised by other youtubers. Its great to hear that independence of thought and experience. Thanks mate
I have both of them. I love ZV-E10 battery life and ability to change lens, but ZV-1 crops less, shake less and has f1.8. Well both of cameras is great, it's only deepens what you actually need.
This video is a couple months old now but I wanted to say that I was at first surprised in the low light test as the zv e10 clearly looks lower quality. I didn't know why this was the case as I'd suspect the next camera in line would stay the same if not improve. But then I noticed at 10:20 that the Soft skin effect was on in the zv e10 when it wasn't for the zv 1, so I would like to let that be known. As for which camera to buy, I'd say that unless if you need to have a camera that fits in your pocket to go with the e10, however if you already have a z1 the upgrade isn't really worth it unless you want to make use of the changeable lenses.
Love your content so much bro and your passion for what you're doing. On a personal level, never stop doing what you love and keep pursuing your YT dream, we're all rooting for you!
Is the ZV1 zoom powerful enough to film a 3 inch wide area from 30 inches away? If not, how far away can the camera go and still only have a 3 inch area in the shot? I'll be filming close ups of artwork.
Fantastic production! I'm excited to say this video, and a few of your others, helped me make decisions while buying my first camera!! I was torn between the ZV1 and the ZV-E10 but I settled on the ZV1 Here's why: I think the ZV1 has smoother image stabilization, built in ND filters (I shoot a lot of airplanes and they help smooth out the propellers), a collapsable lens for on the go security, and slightly better low light quality. My only hang up was, with these two cameras having a similar price point and almost the same quality, I thought the ZVE10 would allow me to upgrade lenses at a later date. Still stuck with the ZV1 Thanks for your time and effort, these videos are very well done! Best, Chels
Hey thanks! I havent heard of the ZV-E10, just I was searching for ZV-1 video samples. But this video helped me decide that I actually want to go with the E10 instead :)

Thanks for doing this video! My zv-1 lasted 2 years on my maple syrup farm. I didn’t baby it nor did I rough house with it. Created more than 400 videos. I was happy with it. Next time I’ll buy extended warranty. It started turning off and on repeatedly. Time for a new one! Thanks for a great video! Mill Gap Farms
Actually love the Zv1 and wanted to get one but I had to reconsider since I’m about to go to art school and I need a camera that can hold up for my photography class as well as for traveling and vlogging, I think being able to change the lenses will be a must and make upgrading easier in the future since I can just buy new lenses instead of an entirely different camera
Great video. Thank you. The ZV-1 performed the same or better in every test, except for the auto focus. But, I have a ZV-1 and have never noticed ‘slow’ auto focus in practical use. In fact I’ve always been surprised by how fast it is. With good pricing around these days for a ZV-1 there is a lot of value in a small package.
I know you thought the ZV one delivered better image quality. I just created a new video comparing the two cameras. It’s uploading now. Please let me know what you think now!🎥
I’ve been racking my brain to buy either one of the Sony‘s-ZV-1F, ZV-1, or the ZV-E10. I watched both of your videos that compare the ZV-1 to both of the other cameras, and it’s a clear decision that and it’s a clear and it’s a safe bet that the ZV-1 is the one I’m going to go with. I’m going to be filming more and I especially enjoyed the fact that the ZV-1 has the HFR slow motion feature. Also, it looks way more stabilized and the colors seems more rich in the ZV-1. So I appreciate this videos that you made and your channel. Instant subscribe. Thank you!
Thank you for the compliment, and the encouragement. The Zve10 is def very nice for that specific reason. But I really like both of the cameras. Have you gotten either of the cameras yet?
I’m watching these while waiting for my ZV-e10 to arrive. I was scared I made a mistake that I bought the ZV-e10 instead of the ZV-1. Thank you for your informative video I am now glad that I chose & bought the Sony ZV-e10 after watching this video.
@@thefilmalliance I'm saving money for a nice new A Cam. I will see what comes out from the A7IV... But I'm aiming for A7SIII. I think I’m gonna go with ZV-E10 I noticed a difference in how fast the focusing was and I love the interchangeable lens especially because I do journalism and I love the different ranges of frames I could get with an interchangeable lens

@@thefilmalliance I already made up my mind and got the ZV-E10 after watching your comparison video and so far it's a great purchase. The mic is good, it's very practical for beginner video maker, with options for lens open in the future. So sincerely thank you. Your video is really helpful for a 'commoner' buyer like me.
@@thefilmalliance How is it possible that the ZV-1 all the way to the back shows a wider frame than the ZV-E10 all the way to the back? (For what you have explained in other videos, that shouldn't be possible. Sorry, new to video cameras for a RUclips channel)
Thanks, very good comparison. I saw other reviews too. I also guess the E10 is a clear winner if it comes to quality, but ,people that don't mind lens setups and go for a good point and shoot this is a very good choice and they won't be disappointed.
@@thefilmalliance No I don't, to be honest my first DSLR was a Sony A200 and it took very nice shots. So I shifted to Canon , but kept track of Sony and how they become this huge competitor for other brands. I only have Sony video camcorders which I like a lot. I hardly do video with my still cameras and was so surprised to see how photographer so quickly become video orientated.
I am deciding between these two cameras... The primary purpose of the camera is for video recording guitar tuition videos in a small room. I need the background to blur well to focus on the instrument. The camera will probably be one metre away from me in a 3m x 3m room. I have very little experience with professional cameras and don't want to spend big. Is the ZV1 the way to go? Or is there a specific affordable lens I could get along with the ZVE10 that will get me far superior results than the ZV1?? I will purchase some basic lighting gear as well.
Which one is newer ? How big is the 6400 compared to this ? Also how is the wide angle on each? I need something that's compact but w wide angle , vlogging and pics
I want to shoot high quality video and stills. Which camera would be best for natural motion blur with a sharp center. It might be a camera model you have not reviewed. Please consider a full frame chip in a small format camera.
@@thefilmalliance I think so. I use the zve10 at church, I’m on the media team, and there is a dial or meter by the thumb that you scroll with and you can adjust the lighting exposure with it. It seemed helpful in low light situations because during worship the lighting in the room is pretty dim..so I use that thingy on the fly to adjust the lighting..I might be butchering the terminology sorry lol
I'm decided to change my zv-1 for the Zv-e10 because I don't think I need a powerful camera like this for vlog, actually I will use zv e10 for studio records with sigma lens, for vlog I'm sure my iPhone 12 is enough.. What do you think?
E10 definitely looks better but I'd still prefer the ZV1 because it's smaller, cheaper, and I don't need to buy new lenses. I have to keep in mind that ZV1 is better than smartphones. ZV1 is better than smartphones. ZV1 is better than smartphones! lol
All these comparison videos are pushing me towards the ZV-1 , since i's just a hobby and i can get a used one for $450 , while the zv-e10 is being sold used for $700 ( when a new one is $790) , and seeing how nice of a cinematic setup you were able to make with the ZV1 , those $700 can get me a used ZV-1 and some of the stuff to make it awesome !

I advise Sony ZV-E10. Buy once and use a long time. Bigger battery, and better quality. Change available lens on ZV-E10. The lens is everything. (Story everything for vlogging but!) It is bigger than ZV1 or Canon g7x3. But you will love it. Btw I bought my camera after watching this video. Thank you bro for the COOL video. 😁
@@thefilmalliance Now I been looking at the Canon M50 Mark 2 and the Canon T8i and the Canon EOS Rebel SL3 which camera should I get? Please let me know
Great comparison. However, I'm looking for a camera for real estate/ commercial video shooting. Need wide angle and a gimbal with it. Which do you recommend? ZV-E10 or ZV1?
According to your video and echoing other comments I agree ZV-1 in my humble opinion excel in video while ZV-E10 is better in autofocus and photo, but again is just my humble opinion
I have both cameras and the ZV1 is best for that stealth tourist look when you don't want to be noticed. The ZV-E10 is the far better camera simply because of lens choices but that is expensive. However while both cameras are excellent for shooting products, neither camera is a fun to use camera, and both are an ergonomic pain. I find that my old G9 is still my first choice most of the time because it feels good in the hand and has all sorts of video and photo features not available on the Sony cameras. However, after the sun goes down the lack of IBIS means the Sony cameras are poor performers while the incredible IBIS on the Panasonic reliably gets the shot. As a result I use the G9 90% of the time, and just use the little Sony's for those few times when they really are the best choice. Spending extra to get good IBIS is worth it in my book.
Thank you for this video it help me out to choose. Since my wife is starting her makeup vblogging and personal life vblogging. I thinking of getting of getting the Sony ZV-E10. I want to hear your options if you think that is a good choice ???
@@thomasusheriii971 yeah the compact form factor of the ZV-1 almost got me to sway to buy it. Future-proof features of the ZV-E10 won in the end though. Do you have both or just the ZV-1? Lol going to check your channel now 😅
I heard that the e10 has a built in streaming mode that erases the need for a capture card.. does the ZV1 have that same functionality or does it need to be paired with a capture card for streaming?
I am looking at the e-10 to combine with the new 11mm lens being released soon. Might be a good vlogging combo for me. I have an A7iv but it’s so heavy for on the go vlogs.
I"m not sure if this was already brought up, but according to Sony's specs for the ZV-1, it has optical image stabilization. Not all Sony lenses for the ZV-E10 do ( the package lens does, but it's only f3.5) He seems to suggest otherwise in the section on stabilization comparison.
Thanks for the video. The ZV-10 is the one for me. What camera did you use to shoot the talking heads bits when you weren’t showing the actual footage of the two cameras? Thanks Andy
Hey, I was wondering if you could help me decide to buy either the Sony ZV-1 or the ZV-E10/another better same-priced camera. My price range is very low at around $550 max. I’m also trying to get a camera somewhat for the long term. Is the ZV-1 good enough? Is the 24-70 mm range good enough for most my needs? I’m trying to get into the videography/cinematography department just as a hobby but I still want it to look like a professional movie. (Feel free to ask more follow up questions) Thanks!
Hey Brandon. The Zve10 is a better overall camera in my opinion, but the Zv1 is good too. The 24-70mm range would be good enough to meet most of your needs. What exactly would you be shooting though?
I picked up my ZV-E10 a couple of days ago and was super excited but bummed at the same time that the mic door rubber flap wouldn't stay closed. Is yours holding up ok? I was going to return it since things like that really irritate me but taking into account how long it took me to find one in stock, it going on a cage with an external mic anyway but just wanted to see if I'm just unlucky. Good comparison btw. :)
I already have the A7III with full frame lenses and I have thought long and hard about buying the ZV-E10 to use it with my lenses, but ultimately it's stupid ... I want a 2nd camera for video only , the ZV1 is more logical, light, film in vlog2, etc etc ...... The ZV-E10 may be useful for new SONY users.
I was worried about "early adopter syndrome" when I bought my zv-1. I agree with a lot of the other comments that the video in some shots looks better, the stabilisation as well on the zv-1. I think the pics and the audio are so similar it's impossible to pick. The only thing the zv-e10 has as an "advantage" is the ability to change lenses, and if I was going to go there, I'm thinking the a7c is a better choice, but then again I'm years away from out growing the zv-1, so maybe an a7c II or III?
@@thefilmalliance yes. If you really want to up grade to a lens system from the zv-1, then full frame seems the way to go, while maintaining the sony AF. If they up graded the a7C to 10 bit & gave it dual native iso (or did that for the expected a7 IV) that's the real jump to an "intermediate" lens system camera
@@thefilmalliance Native ISO is the best optimized ISO for low light, particularly for log gamma profiles. While Canon tends to be the Apple iPhone of digital cameras for the ease of use & "straight out of camera colour science", Canon as a brand also tend to produce a lot of really "fast" lenses. Sony on the other hand has focused on excellent low light capabilities of it's sensor. Sony has pushed the native iso in low light with log profiles higher, so that you can shoot in low light with less noise, and you don't need more expensive "fast" lenses, dual native iso simply has 2 sweet spots that do this. The best dual native iso example is the a7s iii, with 6400 & 12800 being native iso, and there are examples of people shooting at 6400 iso with a f4 lens (slog 2 or 3) and getting crystal clear results outside, in the evening with candles and yellowish deck lights. Now I hardly expect the next gen a7c to do that, but hey how about 1600 & 3200? The a7s iii & FX3 are still the low light kings for the semi pro & pro level youtubers/doco heads, but us amateurs wanting to get into a lens eco system have access to really good low light with excellent AF at an accessible price point
Amazing video and keep up with the good work. I bought my ZV-E10 a week ago (body only) and paired it with a TAMRON 17-28mm f/2.8 and so far I love it. In my way of thinking and since I am going to invest in SONY ecosystem it seemed preferable to invest in a Full Frame lens, start growing up the collection and have a small entry level lens-switch body. My budget was marginal for either this setup and a RODE wireless GOII system or a SONY A7C body only. In my opinion I would rather have a capable setup that will provide the means to evolve than just to buy a comparable better body system and have to rent or lend lenses until I get the budget to get my own. I haven't worked with a ZV-1 and I am pretty sure its an amazing camera but since I am not in the run and gun approach and lenses matters to me I am happy with my choice. I wish we could all get our hands on our dream cameras but till then be happy with what you got or what you can get. Stay healthy and safe everybody.
@@Gaming56456 depends on your needs. Depends on what you are currently filming or what are your near future projects. Depends on the budget and if you want to spend more for lenses. All extra accessories are the same for both and has to do again with the budget. Both cameras are delivering amazing footage for their price. To me ZV-1 has the portability and ZV-E10 has the adaptability. If you are planing for low light footage you should go for ZV-E10 though that can hold a dissent footage in HLG3 (that you have to keep that +0,7 exposure) up to 2000-2500 iso (noise will always be there but in an acceptable amount especially for RUclips or Social Media.

ZV-E10 for me just because of its compact AND changeable lens. I have had a bad experience with my RX-10 M1 which has a fuggy/moisture inside its zoom lens that's unable to clean it. Sony want $350 to take care of problem. With that being said, I will buy this compact ZV-E10 to go with my A7M4 as daily shooting. Thank for your video. It's very helpful. 👍

I really liked that you expressed your own opinion and perspective on the rolling shutter which is so often emphasised by other youtubers. Its great to hear that independence of thought and experience. Thanks mate
That was a lot of effort making this video! ❤ Thank you for this!
Thanks Christian, Which camera did you decide on?
Another high quality camera video Joe! Way to go, you answered the questions that all of us Sony buffs are asking. Kudos!
Thanks for that motivational comment. Always love seeing your still here
I have both of them. I love ZV-E10 battery life and ability to change lens, but ZV-1 crops less, shake less and has f1.8. Well both of cameras is great, it's only deepens what you actually need.
Yes, this is right. They have small differences. And the ZV-1 has no filters but the ZV E10 has bigger sensor
Great attention to detal! Thank you!!!
I paused @1:08 to say Thank You Sir... You're work isn't over looked by this subscriber....
Love your content so much bro and your passion for what you're doing. On a personal level, never stop doing what you love and keep pursuing your YT dream, we're all rooting for you!
The ZV1 wins for me, I love not having to worry about the lenses
I know that’s nice. It’s grab and go
Sony zv1 vs sony zv e10 with only kit lens which best for video
I am watching reviews almost everyday and this one its the best so far! Thank you for this video!
Thank you, Im happy your getting value from these videos! Do you like the ZV-1 or ZV-E10 better?
Is the ZV1 zoom powerful enough to film a 3 inch wide area from 30 inches away? If not, how far away can the camera go and still only have a 3 inch area in the shot? I'll be filming close ups of artwork.
Fantastic production!
I'm excited to say this video, and a few of your others, helped me make decisions while buying my first camera!! I was torn between the ZV1 and the ZV-E10 but I settled on the ZV1
Here's why: I think the ZV1 has smoother image stabilization, built in ND filters (I shoot a lot of airplanes and they help smooth out the propellers), a collapsable lens for on the go security, and slightly better low light quality.
My only hang up was, with these two cameras having a similar price point and almost the same quality, I thought the ZVE10 would allow me to upgrade lenses at a later date.
Still stuck with the ZV1
Thanks for your time and effort, these videos are very well done!
Best,
Chels
I just bought the Sony ZV-1 the other day and I know is the best investment I made this year as far as the camera goes.
Nice! SO happy to hear that.
Hey thanks! I havent heard of the ZV-E10, just I was searching for ZV-1 video samples. But this video helped me decide that I actually want to go with the E10 instead :)
great video and great explanations about the details for each camera.
Thanks for your words of encouragement. I honestly feel like we are a family here.
Haha you right time to subscribe you do explain enough for a beginner to understand i ready move from gopro8 to something better i think shooting at night always let me down with gopro could you advice is there a good camera in you opinion that i should research for camping day and night shooting in Heavy Thai rain low light and super bright light i like idea have nd filter for afternoon sun it crazy bright here most my work shooting is on tripod but do walk along nice beach sometimes Thank you for good info 🙏Mo
That makes me happy. Thanks for chiming in and welcome aboard. Please tell us what cameras you have and if you shoot pro or as a hobby.
Thats great! SO you mean it broke? I thought it would last longer than that
Actually love the Zv1 and wanted to get one but I had to reconsider since I’m about to go to art school and I need a camera that can hold up for my photography class as well as for traveling and vlogging, I think being able to change the lenses will be a must and make upgrading easier in the future since I can just buy new lenses instead of an entirely different camera
Did you buy?
@@keithlittle293 the Zve10 Mark 2, yes
Great video. Thank you. The ZV-1 performed the same or better in every test, except for the auto focus. But, I have a ZV-1 and have never noticed ‘slow’ auto focus in practical use. In fact I’ve always been surprised by how fast it is. With good pricing around these days for a ZV-1 there is a lot of value in a small package.
Thanks for sharing
I know you thought the ZV one delivered better image quality. I just created a new video comparing the two cameras. It’s uploading now. Please let me know what you think now!🎥
@@thefilmalliance Thanks Jo. I just had a look.
Thank you!
Thanks for the comprehensive and straight to the point comparison. Think I'll go with the ZV-E10 because of the ability to change out the lens
Thank you for the compliment, and the encouragement. The Zve10 is def very nice for that specific reason. But I really like both of the cameras. Have you gotten either of the cameras yet?
@@thefilmalliance looks like they have the E-10 now for their vlogs
I’m watching these while waiting for my ZV-e10 to arrive. I was scared I made a mistake that I bought the ZV-e10 instead of the ZV-1. Thank you for your informative video I am now glad that I chose & bought the Sony ZV-e10 after watching this video.
4:06 :):) haha, more of these moments :)
Been waiting for this!
Finally, sorry for the wait
@@thefilmalliance I'm saving money for a nice new A Cam. I will see what comes out from the A7IV... But I'm aiming for A7SIII. Wouldn't choose the zv-e10 because with a little bit more money there are better cameras with interchangeable lenses. But that's just my personal opinion. Your videos are top notch as always.
Wow I agree 1000%. Yes let’s see what the a74 looks like
I think I’m gonna go with ZV-E10 I noticed a difference in how fast the focusing was and I love the interchangeable lens especially because I do journalism and I love the different ranges of frames I could get with an interchangeable lens
Hey Brooke, the zve10 is a better overall camera but unfortunately it is more expensive. So, if you have the budget, I would def recommend the zve10.
My plan is ZV-1 for portability & autofocus, GH5 for lenses & stability
I know you thought the ZV one delivered better image quality. I just created a new video comparing the two cameras. It’s uploading now. Please let me know what you think now!🎥
Your review was the one I was waiting for! As for now, I’ll stay with my zv1 cuz I don’t have budget for the zve10
Hi Cami, good call, I agree. I do think the ZVE10 takes better quality video but everything else is close
Please make the ZVE10 picture profiles comparison video.. like you did with the ZV1 year ago..Pleeease 🙏🙏
Gr8 idea. Ok I will research
@@thefilmalliance THANK YOU 💜
My pleasure
this is the best comparison video for both cameras. thank you :D
Glad it was helpful!
I think the ZV-1 wins in everything other than photography and autofocus timing.
Bingo! I was thinking the same. I was so surprised. I’m happy you said what I was thinking during the edit.
Half a second autofocus timing just doesn’t matter to me in any way. The practical of using that would be unnoticeable honestly.
@@thefilmalliance How is it possible that the ZV-1 all the way to the back shows a wider frame than the ZV-E10 all the way to the back?
(For what you have explained in other videos, that shouldn't be possible. Sorry, new to video cameras for a RUclips channel)
@@MrGheller also wondering this! Thanks :)
@@EntirelyHonest Hopefully someone that knows can answer....
Wow the ZV-1 looks so much better for the dark light test. The audio seems smoother. For a vlog camera it's way better.
Thanks for sharing. When buying a camera, you should definitely buy a camera that suits your own personal needs.
A professional might see more possibilities in the ZV-10, but all my bigger cameras stay at home all the time. The ZV-1 does not disturb that much.
Thanks, very good comparison. I saw other reviews too. I also guess the E10 is a clear winner if it comes to quality, but ,people that don't mind lens setups and go for a good point and shoot this is a very good choice and they won't be disappointed.
yes I agree! thanks for the comment. doe you have the zve10?
@@thefilmalliance No I don't, to be honest my first DSLR was a Sony A200 and it took very nice shots. So I shifted to Canon , but kept track of Sony and how they become this huge competitor for other brands. I only have Sony video camcorders which I like a lot. I hardly do video with my still cameras and was so surprised to see how photographer so quickly become video orientated.

Retro-watching this in 2024 coz the new versions of both these cameras are wayyy expensive! Nice vid!
I'm considering zv-e10 and lumix g7. Which is better for photos?
I am deciding between these two cameras... The primary purpose of the camera is for video recording guitar tuition videos in a small room. I need the background to blur well to focus on the instrument. The camera will probably be one metre away from me in a 3m x 3m room. I have very little experience with professional cameras and don't want to spend big. Is the ZV1 the way to go? Or is there a specific affordable lens I could get along with the ZVE10 that will get me far superior results than the ZV1?? I will purchase some basic lighting gear as well.
Can I record an hours footage with the ZV-1 or is it 30mins max? Thanks
With kit lens, Zv E10 has more bokeh than ZV1?
I have a ZVe10. So, should I take an action camera or a zv1?
It all depends on what you are shooting. Are you a vlogger or just trying to get some cinematic-type Broll?
@@thefilmalliance I am willing to make vlog style documentary. Now, confused between zv1 and gopro hero 11.
I would say the Zv1. Would you consider getting any gear or lenses?
Which one is newer ? How big is the 6400 compared to this ? Also how is the wide angle on each? I need something that's compact but w wide angle , vlogging and pics
I want to shoot high quality video and stills. Which camera would be best for natural motion blur with a sharp center. It might be a camera model you have not reviewed. Please consider a full frame chip in a small format camera.
Which two cameras would you like to see compared next?
I noticed the e10 has an exposure meter, and the ZV1 doesn’t.. will this make a difference?
Hi, do you mean a histogram? If so, it is helpful but not necessary. You can always use zebras.
Yes that's perfect! So the ZV E10 Vs the ZV-1 Image quality video is uploading now. Please let me know what you think!
@@thefilmalliance great, of course I will comment
E10 definitely looks better but I'd still prefer the ZV1 because it's smaller, cheaper, and I don't need to buy new lenses. I have to keep in mind that ZV1 is better than smartphones. ZV1 is better than smartphones. ZV1 is better than smartphones! lol
For me personally its the ZV-1. The size, the ease of use, and there isnt a whole lot of difference too.
Glad that it helped you. I also appreciate you taking the time to comment and let me know.

also does your charging block get really hot while charging your camera with the battery in it because mine does🤔? Zv-10 has my interest, but it has no EVF. I wonder if that is an issue with bright light. Do you have any idea? Thank you.
Yes you can turn the display brightness up, but it drains your battery a bit faster
@@thefilmalliance thank you. Is it okay then or still hard to work with?
I advise Sony ZV-E10. Buy once and use a long time. Bigger battery, and better quality. Change available lens on ZV-E10. The lens is everything. (Story everything for vlogging but!) It is bigger than ZV1 or Canon g7x3. But you will love it. Btw I bought my camera after watching this video. Thank you bro for the COOL video. 😁

According to your video and echoing other comments I agree ZV-1 in my humble opinion excel in video while ZV-E10 is better in autofocus and photo, but again is just my humble opinion
Thanks for your input. Maybe I should do an image quality only comparison
@@thefilmalliance good idea for one of your helpful video’s
Yes I agree
Both are good camera, I just bought sony zv e10 yesterday can’t wait for it😊
How are you enjoying your camera so far?

The ZV 1 is so good and compact. You wont regret it.
@@thomasusheriii971 yeah the compact form factor of the ZV-1 almost got me to sway to buy it. Future-proof features of the ZV-E10 won in the end though.

I heard that the e10 has a built in streaming mode that erases the need for a capture card.. does the ZV1 have that same functionality or does it need to be paired with a capture card for streaming?
Please let me know if you found out this to be true. That would be amazing.
I am looking at the e-10 to combine with the new 11mm lens being released soon. Might be a good vlogging combo for me. I have an A7iv but it’s so heavy for on the go vlogs.
What does the filter do when u add it to the 10?
Do you mean the ND filter?
@@thefilmalliance yes
I"m not sure if this was already brought up, but according to Sony's specs for the ZV-1, it has optical image stabilization. Not all Sony lenses for the ZV-E10 do ( the package lens does, but it's only f3.5) He seems to suggest otherwise in the section on stabilization comparison.
Thanks for the video. The ZV-10 is the one for me. What camera did you use to shoot the talking heads bits when you weren’t showing the actual footage of the two cameras? Thanks Andy
but what about rolling shutter ,, is this problem with ZV E1 ,, or ZV E10 only ??
Sony zv1 vs sony zv e10 with only kit lens which best for video
The low light quality on zv-e1 seems to be better at the same iso, this is a surprise.

Good comparison btw. :)
I already have the A7III with full frame lenses and I have thought long and hard about buying the ZV-E10 to use it with my lenses, but ultimately it's stupid ... I want a 2nd camera for video only , the ZV1 is more logical, light, film in vlog2, etc etc ......
The ZV-E10 may be useful for new SONY users.
I will keep my ZV1 thank you.🙏🙏🙏🙏
I was worried about "early adopter syndrome" when I bought my zv-1.
I love your thought process here. Yes I think you are spot on. Doesn’t the A7C have a full frame sensor?
@@thefilmalliance yes. If you really want to up grade to a lens system from the zv-1, then full frame seems the way to go, while maintaining the sony AF. If they up graded the a7C to 10 bit & gave it dual native iso (or did that for the expected a7 IV) that's the real jump to an "intermediate" lens system camera
@@I.am.Bananaman Can you explain to us what dual native ISO is and why it’s important compared to non dual ISO? Thanks in advance
I have that lens as well, I will have to try it out. Thanks
So I managed to make another video on the image quality of the two cameras. It’s uploading now, please let me know which one you think wins?
What one should I get ZV 1 or E10?

@thefilmalliance I want a time machine, go back to October 2003 and buy another Carl Zeiss lens Sony's Cyber-shot DSC-T1. It is an ultra compact camera with many great features all in a package about the size of a deck of playing cards. (From their site). It's pictures and video taken then look as good as an iphone in 2023. I retouched some with new AI and was blown away.
That is so awesome that you got the Zve10. It is an awesome camera, like you said. What do you think of it so far?
