- Jim Croce was only 30 years old when he died in a plane crash along with his guitarist. Maury Muehleisen and four others on September 20. 1973. He is buried at Haym Salomon Memorial Park in Chester, PA. This is the vlog I made visiting him on 4/29/20, I hope you enjoy it.
Thank you for visiting the burial site of Jim Croce. I was only 11 when he died , buthe is my all time favorite musical artist. His lyrics touch my heart and soul. I miss you, big Jim!! RIP!!
Jim’s music touched us all, and is now touching many others who are discovering him. Thank you for your comment ✌️
I loved jims music the first time I heard it as a child,....it just gets sweeter with time. thanx Jim and Maury,....boy do we need you here making music today !!!
I feel the same way, David. I was just a 10 year old when I heard Jim's music. I remember buying some of records though Columbia House (remember them?). I've been a fan ever since. Gone way too soon but his music lives on. Thanks for watching and commenting, much appreciated ✌
"Operator" was always my favorite Jim Croce song.
"Time in a Bottle". The musical genius that is Jim Croce was with us for only a very short while. He had put more, a lot more, of his heart, his soul, into words and music, which he was unable to share with us. In Jim, the Lord allowed us to catch a glimpse of His greatness, and for this I am thankful.
Time in a Bottle is a masterpiece. Thank you for watching and for your nice comment ✌
Ive Got a Name and Operator. Both beautiful songs. Rest In Peace Jim.
Those are my two favorites by Jim. Thank you for sharing ✌
I love all of his songs ,he'll stay in our hearts forever
Me too, he has so many great songs. Almost 50 years after his passing, his music lives on! Thanks for watching and commenting ✌

When ever I hear Jim's music it brings back memories of my childhood, too. I remember buying some of his records through Columbia House (remember them?). Thanks for watching and commenting, I appreciate it! ✌
Thanks for this. My mom is buried at Hayam Solomon in section B/B and I have never been able to find Jim's final resting place. I think I can now. FYI it is in Frazer PA which is in Chester County. I don't think I have a favorite song, I love them all!
I’m glad you enjoyed it and can now visit Jim next time you visit your mom. Check out the video I did visiting Jim’s Farmhouse, I revisited his grave afterwards. Thanks for watching and commenting, Sari ✌️

Jim Croce was 30 when he diedin a plane crash in 1973. Patsy Cline was also 30 when she died in a plane crash in 1963. Both were taken too soon. RIP Patsy. Jim and Maury!! ❤❤❤
Such a shame that they both decided to leave at night instead of the next day. Both were taken way too soon. However, their music lives on. Thanks for your watching and for your comment✌️
I can't think of a Jim Croce song that I don't love! But if I had to list some ,Speedball Tucker, Age, lover's cross , operator, Time in a bottle, oh can't forget Rapid Roy, photographs and memories, I guess ALL OF HIS MUSIC!!! BEST VOICE EVER!!! Been listening to him for 50 yrs and never ever get tired of him!!💞💞💞
I agree, Cindy. There are so many great songs by Jim Croce, it's hard to pick just one. I've been listening to him for 50 years, too. He was unique and genuine, gone way too soon! Thank you for watching and for your comment!
In our hearts
He was my favorite singer when I was in high school why do all these great singers have to die in a plane crash ? I just don't understand this ? so sad .............. R.I.P Jim Croce we will never forget you & your music
He most certainly was a great singer and song writer. Gone way too soon. Buddy Holly is another favorite of mine that was gone way too soon. Thanks for your comment, Tony ✌️
Always loved Leroy Brown. Great song great lyrics
That was the song I first heard by him as a young kid. It turned me into an instant fan of his. Thanks for your comment ✌
@@beatlepete it was the first time i heard Jim's music too! I was 8 years old when he died.
@@atraxrobustus3618 I was 12 when he died. I know one of the records I bought of his from Columbia House was Photographs and Memories.
Time in a bottle my favorite
Great song ✌
Your brother bullfrog's channel brought me here. I watched your brother's Enchanted Sunday video before coming over to check your channel out. Huge Jim Croce fan myself, and I live near Philly, and intend to try to get to this site myself some day. One of the greats, gone far too soon. We were blessed to have him, for a while at least. I look forward to catching more of your channel. If your channel is half as entertaining as Gus's, I will be around for a while, catching up! This is a fantastic intro to your channel for me, and I really enjoyed this video. Music, road geeking, and rail fanning are also big parts of my life. All the best for you & your channel. Because I enjoy Gus & Dolly's travels so much, you got yourself an automatic subscriber, once I found out this channel existed! Greetings from Montgomery Co., PA!
ThresholdDreamer, first of all, thank you so much for subscribing and for commenting, I really appreciate it! I loved Jim Croce. I believe the first album I got was Photographs and Memories through Columbia House (remember them?) back in the early 70s. I didn't realize that he was buried in Pennsylvania until last year when I did the vlog. The "Find a Grave" was spot on in helping me find it. I hope that you do enjoy some of the things that I vlog on my channel. My brother and I are different in the things we do so hopefully you enjoy the variety. Other graves I visited include Fred Gwynne and Joey Ramone. I also like going to find old structures and ruins, but nothing is off the list. If it's interesting and will work for my channel, I'll vlog it.
Thanks again for subscribing, I hope you enjoy my vlogs! ✌
Your vlog was done with dignity, and respect. I loved Jim, and his music. My favorite songs are, I Got A Name, and Working At The Car Wash Blues. New subscriber.
Thank you so much, Joan. I respect all of those who's final resting places I visited and do my best making a decent vlog about them. I appreciate your nice comment and thank you very much for subscribing! ✌
@@beatlepete My pleasure. The videos look excellent! Thanks for all you do.
I loved all Jim’s songs.😢
Me too, Leland
You look like you could be his son. What a beautiful voice that man had.
That's a nice complement, thanks Glen. Yes, Jim most definitely had a beautiful voice.
Hombre tan joven y talentoso..y ese himno que dejo time in the botlle..bella canción y saludos a ese niño ,creo era el hijo de jim y seguro creció con el recuerdo vivo de su padre🥀🇺🇲🏆🏅🎵🎤👶
I always enjoyed Jim Croce's songs, and think "Operator" was one of my favorites! Never realized he was buried in Chester, PA. Interesting vlog, Pete!
I didn't realize he was buried there either, I only found that out a week or two before going there. He wasn't hard to find either. The "find a grave' app was spot on. Thank you, Jean! ✌
He isn’t. He’s buried in Frazer.
@@beatlepete I think you are confusing Chester, Pa (which is in Delaware County, Pennsylvania) with Chester County. The cemetery is actually in Frazer, Pa. (which IS located in Chester County). Also, Jim Croce did not write “ I got a Name”. He was attracted to the song because his dad died at a young age. It was co-written by Charles Fox (music) and Norman Gimbel (lyrics). Just an FYI.
I love them All but Time In A B💕💕💕💕💕💕
Time in a Bottle is one of my favorites, too 🎶
thanks Beatlepete! great job!.......... RIP LEGEND Jim Croce.....I Got A Name is a favorite of mine among others!
Jim is most certainly a legend, gone way too soon. Many couldn't believe he was only 30. I never get tired of his music, it's timeless. Thanks for viewing and for your comment, Ulysses, I appreciate it! ✌
@@beatlepete welcome and more power.....pls do further with the other artist-legends...i'm watching you! good luck buddy(from the Philippines)!
I went to Joey Ramones grave back in April, it was the 20th anniversary of his death. Also went to Fred Gwynne's last year. More to come. Thanks again! ✌
Nice vlog! I had no idea Jim Croce was buried in Pa! Pretty close. I'll have to visit one day.
Thanks Walt! I didnt know it was close either until last week. Took me about 75 minutes to get there and listened to Jim on the way.
Great video! Thx.
Thanks for watching ✌
Jim Croce was one of my favorites growing up
Mine too. I remember buying some of his albums through the Columbia House Music Club. Thanks for watchingng, Vic
Just 30 years old. I had no idea. So many hits!
A lot of people couldn't believe he was only 30, he was very young.
Time in a bottle is my favourite, and Lou Costello had a similar situation , when his little boy was in a swimming pool accident , and went on to do a show within hours of the child's death , no one in the audience was Any the wiser.
That quote, "any the wiser" was used a lot by my favorite comedy team, Laurel and Hardy. Time in a Bottle is one of the most beautiful songs ever written. Thanks, Gary ✌
@@beatlepete They were the greats , Professional through and through , and classy , no Tawdry gutter humour still safe to show young children today 🌟
You hit the nail on the head, Gary. No gutter humor, just good clean fun. Thier shorts and features are timeless!
@@beatlepete Lou Costello and his wife are interred across from Thier son I believe , and I suspect that the reason that they are higher than Thier son is to forevermore watch over him in death . I don't think this is an accident it is by subtle Design .
"I'll have to say I love you in a song"
Great song!
So young,so 😢sad.
Such a sad and tragic death, only 30
If I could save time in a bottle the first thing I would do is to find a way to keep wind out of the audio
omg..i didnt know he is died already...ist song i heard and fall in love to his music ..i love you in a song by Jim Croce...RiP idol
Jim made a lot of great music and was a good man. It's a shame he died at such a you age (30) and so tragically. His music will live on ✌
Car Wash Blues
Jim is not there, he and all those on that plane went to heaven on Sept. 2oth, 1973. Thank the Lord! 🎸✝⛪🧡
You're right, his body may be there but his soul is in Heaven along with the others that were on the plane. Thank you for your comment ✌
Hey Beatle Pete , why is he not in Rock Hall of Fame?????????? He is Americana
That is a good question. Jim should be in the R&R HOF, he made lots of great music. Yet they put others in, who for the life of me, makes no sense why
Along with Dan Fogelberg.
And Gordon Lightfoot.
Operator was so big wither phone company employees and. Families
Operator is a great song. Love all of his music. Thanks for watching! ✌
