I am the least mechanical minded person you could ever meet. For me it's a major accomplishment if I can get the back off of the TV remote to change those batteries, the struggle is real😂. But I just successfully changed my cabin filter because of you video. The filter was maybe $12....took me less than 5 minutes. The dealership was wanting $60 to change it 🙄
I figured out the trick to that little door for the cabin filter. What you need to do is pull the filter back out, then go in at an angle upwards. It'll go in upwards towards the back and lock into place all the way in and then you can get the door on and the L shaped door too.
Good evening, Thank you for the video. I did it...the air cabin filter. I looked inside and there is sort of a track that goes up. That is how to put the filter back in....point the filter upwards and it slides right in. Your video was a huge help. Now off to the engine air filter. Thank you again.
At the end of the vid. That last clip level the filter hosing in place. I had the same problem. You can actually take the cover out & see the housing is in place.
I didn't mean to insult you . I have a 2020 Toyota Camry LE , had a purolator cabin air filter in , arrows pointing down . Not 100 % sure if this was correct . Now putting in a WIX cabin air filter and I asked them , which direction of the arrow . The top of the purolator cabin air filter was very dirty . This is what WIX said - The arrow points in the direction of air flow . If the top of the old filter is dirty , the arrow points down . If the bottom of the old filter is dirty , the arrow points up . In most cases the top of the old filter should be the dirty side . I don't see why the bottom would be " dirty " . As dirt , pine needles , etc will fall thorough the crowl ? at the base of the windshield . Which I have found on the top of my old filter . Someone suggested to remove the cabin air filter and put your hand inside , which I did . Of course engine running and aiircon on . And I cannot 100 % tell which direction the air is coming from . It seems I am feeling forceful air against my palm and also top of hand . So putting in the new one with arow pointing down . Why can;t the idiotic filter manufacturers just to this common sense thing . Either have the word top and arrow pointing upward . Or the word down and arrow pointing downward !!?? SMH I don't care which direction of air flow nor do I want to know . As said by you ? a OEM filter will be installed with ther arrow one way . And then when you go to a aftermarket , the arrow could / should be pointed in the opposite direction . So ridiculous to me about this , I expect to contact Toyota and aske which direction is airflow . I had a simple paper filter in this time . As my thoughts better for winter time for air to pass through easier to clear windshield of fog , etc . And now to install a charcoal filter to minimize any bad smells from outside . Though in the winter because of cold air that settles , and keeps for example exhaust gases at ground level . To where they will easily enter your vehicle and be offensive . Warm / hot air rises and should carry the smells with it . SMH lol
Where did you buy that engine air filter? Whenever I buy one from the dealer it's usually made in the USA or Thailand or Japan. I've never seen one made in China unless it was sold on eBay or Amazon which I avoid.
AIR FLOW IS DOWNWARD. I know it seems contradictory, If the Cabin filter says UP with an arrow pointing up , then install with arrow up. If the Cabin filter has an arrow point down accompanied by the word AIR FLOW then the filter is installed with the arrow pointing down.
@@GEARMOAUTO I also put my hand inside to feel around for anything . And use a penlight to shine in and others have used a telescopic mirror to get a good look .

Great video ! Very helpful. Any recommendations for different types of filters ?
Get a charcoal filter if you have issues with smells in the car
Thanks bro

The Dealership
I bought in O’Reilly store . Is that bad ? Just learning how to do it ))) I did cabin 💃🏽. Now hardest part . Thank for the video .
I think you are wrong , I think the purpose of the word up on the cabin air filter holder . Is for the arrow / up / airflow to be in that direction .
