Awesome video! This just helped me verify that my TotK controller is in fact real. Sticks are as precise as they can be and the whole thing went BRRRRRRRR when I had the console looking for it.
Broo, thanks a million for this vid! There was an auction in one of local stores in my area, i placed a bid in last minutes and won brand new Zelda controller for around 45$ Sticks and Motion Control were calibrated perfectly, amiibo worked, firmware updated succesfully. I even opened it and EVERYTHING, including screws and motherboards looks exactly like in Your OG controller, battery 1300mAh with Nintendo logo. Guess i lost my warranty by opening it, but still that's a win for me! This controller looks and feels amazing 😮
Really helpful, I have one question please reply.... On the battery part on 7:07 which battery is fake and which is real? if you check the one is 4.81 Wh while the other is 5
Thanks! The left one (4,8 Wh) is the fake battery. I checked with my fake again and I double checked by going through some videos of TronicsFix and Spawn Wave and their controllers also showed that the real battery has 5Wh.
@@PCs454every single point he made the controller had that problem, the good thing is I contacted the company that sold me the controller and they refunded me and I kept the fake controller so I guess it's a win xD
Picked up a TOTK controller but had my suspicions. Came across your video and it looks like you hit everything I needed to confidently report back to eBay about my findings.
not mine. I think about 10-20 hrs. They still work really good, and they have shells that you just can't buy anymore from Nintendo, like the smash bros one, splatoon, monster hunter, etc
I don't think it has the same 40 hours battery life but I remember getting a few play sessions in without having to recharge inbetween. At the very least I don't remember it constantly running out of charge while playing.
Have you tried to update this controller? I'm sus about mine because it stays in 0% forever, and after your video I noticed my sticks are also weird calibrated and screws inside are black...
I just tried that and it seems to work. I put the front and back shell of an original Splatoon 2 controller on a fake controller and it fit. The original grips also fit but were a bit tighter than the fakes. I don't know if every fake will be from the same factory and therefore have the exact same measurements but for mine it is close enough to the original. (Also, the fake grips don't really fit on the original in my case as the upper edge is slightly more curved so you have a bit of a sharp edge where the grip meets the backplate)
I just ordered a Japanese Tears of the Kingdom controller on Amazon and so help me if the sticks are bad and the vibration sounds off I'm going to be miffed, a Twitter account I trust tweeted the link to that.
Your best bet will always be brand new controllers from reputable sites like Amazon, the official Nintendo Store, Media Markt, maybe Best Buy or whatever is available in your country. The fake controllers are usually from sites like AliExpress or eBay. When buying make sure the seller on the site is official (sold and shipped by Amazon for example).
Yes I think that's normal. I checked on my Xenoblade Controller and the Zelda Tears Of the Kingdom controller. The DPAD feels a little different. It is rougher than the ABXY buttons. The ABXY buttons feel a little smoother and almost slippery.
One easy way to check if the Zelda TOTK controller is fake or not is to feel if there is texture on the art, if it does have texture than you can rest assured knowing it is original, I know that from experience cause I have both a fake and original version of it xD

Very informative👍🏻
The runble test may not be always the case as my TOTK controller is quieter than the monster hunter one. Both of them are real
I just buy totk controller and it is also quieter than my xenoblade 2 controller

is the fake one also has the same battery life of 40hrs?

I think I did accidentally one time and the switch kept trying to update but it didn't work and I had to manually restart the console.
Hey, i bought a fake controller by inadvertance and i would like to customise it, do you think i can cover it with an original Switch pro shell ?

Well I guess in case it's not a real one you wouldn't have an issue getting a refund from Amazon, but I hope it's a real one of course.

i got a switch pro zelda and the Dpad is rough matte texture than the rest of the buttons ? is the DPAD meant to be rough matte?

Yes. The D-Pad material on the authentic Switch Pro Controller is slightly similar to the texture of the N64 D-Pad.
