- The Li-On is 70% More expensive than the Li-Po. Which To Buy if were flying Long Range? Let's take a 7 inch Quad and strap both a Lithium-Ion and a Lithium-Polymer battery to it and see how it does on a freestyle. This should give us some non-scientific idea of how they would do long-range stye.

Li-Ion is totally worth it if you build your own packs. Got 3 4S packs made out of of 18650s and one out of 21700s.
Do the 21700 performed better than 18 650s

@@rightawaycarhaulers5460 The specific cells I used (Samsung 40T) are capable to sustain a higher current draw, up to 30a continuous, according to the specs.

@@sunsetpark_fpv Not true freestyle, more like cruising with flips and rolls. If you keep an eye on the amp draw, you can fly a bit more aggressively. I'm building a 6S1P next for my new 5in Long range quad.

Whoa, wasn't expecting that punchy performance from the li ion. I have a 5 inch drone and I've ordered a 4200 mah 4S pack with molicell 21700 4200 mah cells. Can't wait to test it

The bad part about it they're filling themselves a little too hard the battery line only came out a few years ago and was half the price I wonder how well it would do when he charges it after treating it that way LOL

Not saying you cant do the odd freestyle move, but Li-ion batteries are more suited towards endurance and smooth inputs, but you already knew this anyway.

You can find way better prices for the equivalent of each of those batteries from a different brand, and you get more milliamp hours for your dollar.

I'm quite shocked that even with LiOn, it still flies very fast! I must try it on the 7 inch quad I'm building.

Thanks. I only fly long range & am not familiar with the li-ion packs but I see them being used a lot. Was wondering about the differences. *But you're comparing 4000mah to a 2250mah, so is that the reason for such a difference?
li ions can be flown all the way down to like 2.5v before getting cutoff
Hey Drainman. Thank a lot for your awesome videos - especially your build ones! Your a solder god😊 I love flying and building, but I have a problem. I shake a lot with my hands. It’s a big problem when soldering😕 I’ve literally destroyed 5 mamba stacks because I soldering the pads together. My favorite stack at the moment is Succex-E F405 because there is so much space between the pads unlike the Mamba F4 ore F7. Can you point me in the way of stacks with as much or more space between the pads then the Succex? Thanks for a great channel💪😎😃👍
I can offer you a little advice -
Buy a smaller soldering iron tip online.
Use solder flux (no clean works fine)
Use a "solder jig" (clamp the wire you are soldering in a helping hand tool, and then rotate into place as you heat the joint)
Use a magnification device, I use one that sits on my head and has a light.
Always look over the pads BEFORE you apply battery power, or use a multimeter to check continuity to find a mis-soldered pad prior to powering up.
A few sips of your favorite alcoholic beverage helps for the mental nerves. 😎

Heyy, I'm just starting out so far from an expert, but, the li-ion has nearly twice the mah than the li-po.. is this not why it lasted nearly twice as long 🤔
The thing about Li-ion packs is that you can abuse them down to 2.8V /cell long lange without fear. Even for cells between the two different chemistries you can still get more abuse out of the Li-ion when far away

@@rightawaycarhaulers5460 bro what are you talking about. The top frames were GoPro hero footage. The bottom frames were DVR from his goggles, which is why you saw break up, that's what analogue looks like........
