I used to say if your fc or esc is acting strange just toss it, its not worth it failing while flying over people but now they are getting so expensive its worth it to attempt to repair for sure.
Time is money,so i am guessing mostly this attempt is NOT worth it, but it still is a GREAT skill to have ,to know HOW to use a multimeter. EXCELLENT video - THANK YOU :)
@@M-H433 well no bodys time is free, u see if you have to spend 3 hours to fix this FC,instead of either making money (thats what i do in my free time) or spending "QUALITY TIME" with my family,than u are loosing money on this process instead of just buying a new one.

Mine doesn't do yhe betaflight or power up from esc board but i put tape around it and wrote bad on it and put it in a plastic coffee jar with bad vtx's and a bad elrs rx that worked until the ufl yanked off by the props . I put antenna on where the ufl snap went on , but whe i tried adding shield ground wire the rx fell off from heat . If i would have used a different ground or just used a 14mm or 28mm wire for antenna hanging off the board . 6 elrs rx's and 3 tx's need " upgrades" to work . That means they sell them in non working condition .
Great video… I’m trying to take my drone skills to the “next” level and learn more about these magical boards! If you can “recharge” the blue smoke *_back into_* the board for Penny’s, why the hell not! Love that scope by the way… it’s got a pretty price tag, but I can see the value if you do this kind of work a lot… by saving that fc, you just paid down the scope cost at least 50 bucks!

Hello uncle, sorry for asking outside of the video discussion. I have a 5 in. assembled drone. With FC Speedybee F405 V3. But after everything is finished, the raft is assembled. When I set it on betaflig and wanted to test the motorbike, I plugged in a 6s battery which detected only 1s or 4 volts, not 22 volts. How do you fix it, bro? Please help uncle🙏

A common problem is when using an iron that it’s too big is hitting or wiping tiny components off of the board. Some traitors are sooooo tiny that you can not see them whilst soldering. Study the boards solder point before you go and tin it up. Work from the outside and try not to wipe the iron across the pads if you can. It’s a tricky business and I’ve had to reflow boards for friends 😜💖
Had a little bump when landing (I blame airmode) and now my FC won't connect to the ESC either. Its fine via USB C but doesn't power up. This sucks and I don't know what to do.
I’m about to throw my fc , it is from happymodel crazybee lite f4, I have no way to connect it to betaflight it is not recognized, I put zadig… impulse rc fixer, even when i put it in dfu, it is not opening port , I guess maybe my computer but hey any othe fc is working!! , any help to identify hardware damage , I can’t figure which hardware responsible to that issue!!!
I love my Fettec but unfortunately if the MCU happens to go poof on Fettec or KISS, it's done thanks to the serial and closed source firmware. Betaflight FCs are much easier to fix since you can replace the MCU and flash.

I have one question though, why do I have those 2 capacitors on your drone? Are they both on the ESC? What are their rating and capacitance.
uggh, video help learn how to test motor pads and fets, but didnt find my issue. Brand new radio, brand new pavo 20.....not even 2 minutes into its maiden flight, I caould smell something cooking and then it hit the floor. No changes in betaflight other than assign switches and turning opff OSD and VTX due to I am flying LOS until I am able to afford the goggles I want. Anyways, I am stumped on this AIO in the Pavo 20. Using my multimeter to test pads and fets all came backl ok, I connect the AIO to betaflight everythinng seems fine, all lights flash and work the way they should. THis is drivning me fucking crazy, ther ehas to be a reason why a brand new drone cooked a motor in under 3 minutes time.....I just want to know if it was on my end, or defective product.
My racer drone connected to the betaflight usb simply freezes when I connect the 3s lipo battery. I can't configure the engines. They don't rotate. Has this ever happened to you?

Man just installed the new g4 fettec fc and can't get the osd to work with the caddx vista. I used the pin in the fettec g4 manual and I only get link quality and nothing else. I need battery volts and amps used. Any idea why and what to do??
Hi DrainMan, I have received a Brand New FlyLens 75 HD O3 \O3 Lite 2S Brushless Whoop FPV Drone as a Gift, After opening it I charge the Battery check the voltage and plug it, nothing happened, but I can go to Betaflight and check everything, even register the DJI part of it. Hey DraaainMaaan. I have a DJI 03 VTX and a RX connected to a blitz f7 mini FC. When I have connect only the RX, there are no issues. However, with plugged in battery when I connect the VTX, the RX gets burned. I've ensured that the components are connected to the correct ports. Do you have any idea what the problem might be? I thought it could be the voltage regulator on the FC.

I don't have a microscope but I found that I can't take a pretty detailed photo with my smartphone. All I do is rest the phone on something solid as close as I can while keeping the board in focus. I shine an LED light on the board. I can zoom in on the photo and see pretty good detail.

Ho acquistato una nuova scheda. Sulla scatola c'è scritto v2.0 ma sulla scheda v3.3. Il venditore dice che è la stessa ma aggiornata. Dopo aver collegato tutto, appena ho attaccato la lipo ha fatto è saltata immediatamente e ho visto una piccola parte incandescente. Anche stavolta a pc funzionava. Sostituita in garanzia con un altra uguale e questa volta ho usato uno smoke stopper. Risultato è in corto😢 Cosa potrei fare? Potrebbe essere semplicemente una partita di schede difettose? Secondo te posso risolvere in qualche modo? Avevo provato anche con un bec ma con scarsi risultati 😩 Spero potrai aiutarmi!! Grazie Un saluto dall'Italia! 😊
I think it’s always worth fixing (if you know what you’re doing) because it’s not just that everything’s getting so expensive, it’s also that there is so much “Out Of Stock” components and shortages and because of the whole “Chip Shortage” companies are replacing quality components with lesser quality or slightly older components/gyros/capacitors/chips/boards/etc,etc as a matter of fact I’ve busted out a bunch of those “On The Arms” ESCs just to get some builds done while I wait for the ons I purchased. The good thing about this whole “Expensive/Chip Shortage/Out Of Stock/On Pre-Order Forever” situation is it’ll make people want to learn the basics: building, soldering, flashing firmware, programming protocols, inputting commands, configuring “Betaflight, INAV,Emuflight, Blheli, Agent M, etc,etc learning how to match components with each other in other words becoming more self sufficient and understanding quadcopers as a whole along with flying and just the entire RC hobby from ground vehicles to helicopters, to planes. 💯💯👍👍👍

My motors make the sound but I don't get the FC not connected and nothing works input wise

I was wonder if I could use the smart battery from my dji fpv as the power supply to test the FC?

With electronics so expensive nowadays these videos are very useful. Please more on troubleshooting, SMD repairs, schematics, etc.

I've fixed two so far. A heat station and copper tape to keep components in place and shield from unneeded heat saves hundreds of dollars.

Wish I was nice with the soldering iron....i would be switching out mosfets..but I suck, struggle soldering joints on micros..lol Nice video tho!
