Drivers will sometimes do some very stupid things. If your engine gets flooded, not only is your vehicle now stranded in the water, but your motor faces significant repairs. Not to mention that driving where you cannot see what you're driving over can get you stuck on underwater objects or new holes in the pavement.
@@lascm5237 That makes me remember one night in 1977 when I was in my friend's car driving into a hotel's parking garage, and the street was flooded. We went through some kind of major bump that startled both of us. Hours later, as we were leaving and the flooding was over, we saw the reason for the "bump" was an open manhole with the cover dislodged and lying nearby.

It really isn’t worth the risk. It floods most years (not as bad as this) but every time cars ignore advice and drive through
