Reason the taxi driver got through in the Toyota was he was using his hybrid motor but when he tries to turn the engine on he may get a nasty shock unless he leaves it sat off for a few hours to dry lol
You'd struggle to get up out the other side without the engine kicking in tbh, the bigger problem with any car going into water that deep is all the other things it will ruin like parking sensors and adaptive cruise, ABS etc etc.

old kenilworth castle ford, steam through my garden runs into this river/ steam about mile down. castle ford dose flood lot less these days since they installed bigger pipes under road many years ago , but soon the grids get blocked that it , over the road it goes. remember when younger we did not like the improvements not seen a flood in ages so we went up river / steam and chucked all sorts in and as expected it to had few ft water over the road. biggest danger to that ford is grid under the foot path if you get swept under the path you going to be in bit trouble

That is not the same. Old cars died from water beacuse of the ignition electronics soaked. The repair was just let it dry. Nowadays cars' electronics are waterproof. If they stop under water it is because their engine sucked up water into the cylinders. Repair of a dived engine is more than costly.
Some of these people really are a risk to all other humans.....ploughing into floods at night, shorting the electrics.....how long before someone is killed, because of another numpty driving at speed, and not seeing a stranded car ?. It also shows ignorance of their vehicles too.....not knowing where the air inlet is !.

This is why toyota stays on top of car companie there reliability and relatively affordable price is unmatched. All car brands last majority 10 year but the toyota will still be on the road after 25 year latter even when there original factory part. That's really a value for the money car
