These idiots are why I am having to pay much more for my car insurance this year.
Mini didn’t claim😊
You are correct.
Yes 🤬💯
Insurers won't pay out for this
@@Chr155yboy16 We saw in one video one person in a van stopped in deep water phoning in saying he had gone through a puddle. It depends on the story getting back to the insurance company and the effort of investigating it as opposed to heavy cross subsidising of premiums, which must go on considering the standard of driving we see on the roads from people who should not be on the roads.
Hard to imagine how these people actually survived this long.
Very hard 🤦🏻♂️
Agreed 😂😂
There`s one born every minute.
Hope they don't get insurance pay out
They walk among us
The monster energy can floating out of the boot of the mini was poetic.
Or the can of anti freeze? 🙄
....he's gonna wait for it to dry out......Priceless..... "Did the battery get water in it?".....Priceless.... Cheers Ben!
@@highdownmartin Because I cant see the 6 foot high depth guage.
The Mini is just scrap now and I hope the insurance company sees this video and doesn’t pay out driving through water nearly 3ft deep.
@CharlesDickson-nv2ol they won't pay out even without the video. They will inspect it and find evidence of water ingress well above the wade depth of the car through the entire vehicle.
If you drive through deep water, it's on you.
Insurance will always ask if it could have been avoided. And the answer almost all of the time will be yes. As we have a choice as to if we drive through thr water or not.
I think the mini driver was likely aware of his situation though. The look on his face as he sat on the roof of his car said it all.
@mikeh2006 the insurer will always pay a reduced settlement due to drivers failure to mitigate damage. Stating that they point blank won't pay out is entirely wrong.
Unless it is write off.
That number plate wall of shame at the end 👌
👌
The majority appear to only be a few year old cars too. I wouldn't risk it in my cheap old shed let alone a 23 plate!
Hall of shame!
@@eyesodd I was thinking exactly the same, although what's the betting that most of them are on some for of lease or finance

Modern drivers are not taught how to read.
The signs on both sides are obviously just for decoration.
Hahaha
massive bellend fails to see equally massive depth gauge ...
😂
For some reason I find 2:21 particularly funny. Just smashing into the water, losing the front plate, and then racing off to tailgate someone without testing their brakes
They just carried on like the water was never there, surprised the air bags didn't deploy! That was a fair impact with the water 😂
Female driver. I'm saying no more...

“…it’s killed the battery?” Thanks for the laughs Ben!😊
It's definitely the battery. LOL.
That guy knows as much about car mechanics as he does about driving.
@@Patmofar In fairness that clicking noise we heard when he tried to crank it does sound like a dead battery - honestly not an unreasonable suggestion.
@@karlosbricks2413 No it only shows his total ignorance of the symptoms of hydraulic locking.
@@karlosbricks2413 The clicking is the starter motor unable to turn the engine over because it's trying to compress water in the cylinder head. lol😅

Spot on …
"Wait till it dries out" Love that optimism.
Very interesting psychology demonstrated here, if a puddle is 2 or 3 inches deep car drivers will try to drive around it or go carefully through the shallow side but if it’s 2 or 3 feet deep they think their car is invincible andthey try to wade through it, often unsuccessfully. our cars are so reliable these days that we think a few feet of water is fine.
I drive a hgv and the amount of drivers that will go onto the wrong side of the road to avoid a puddle is insane. If I'm heading right towards them it doesn't make a difference. They'd rather be hit by a truck than drive through a puddle.
Not saying all drivers do that of course, but the amount that do is ridiculous.
@@mikeh2006 And on a single track/narrow road they expect the truck to pull on the grass as they are scared they will get stuck if they try, the concept of n 18-44 tonne truck being able to pull a car off a verge hasn't dawned on them and they somehow thin that 18-44 tonne will jut float over grass like a Dakar rally truck.
"Our cars are so reliable these days that we think a few feet of water is enough."
Read from the manufacturer's logbook, accessible lookout height.... ya
If one of the Lamda probes dips ....engine stop. cqfd
I think it’s the people who drive through 2-3” puddles who also drive through 2-3ft fords. The ones who are cautious around puddles will also by and large avoid fords too.
"has it killed the battery" that question is just as useless as you were driving into that in the first place
It's never cheap old bangers getting trashed, because if that's what you can afford you look after it!
Very true. I was chatting to a garage owner today. He has a car in for MOT prep. It’s owned by a retired vicar. Every year it comes in & it needs £500 spent because the dog has chewed all the seatbelts in the back. 🙄
To be fair, I've cherished every car I've ever owned and looked after it as though it were part of the family. And therein lies the rub--very few of the people in these vids give a crap about their cars. They're nothing more than tools to them, or something akin to an item of clothing to show off to others. They're not valued. You can see the idiot at the start in the mini--he doesn't give a crap. It's just a joke to him.
I'd argue few of them even care about other road users.
I never thought about it like that! ❤
Most new cars are leased. When you don't own something you don't respect it like you do if you own it. I wonder how many of these weren't covered by their insurance companies. Deliberately driving through flood water usually makes your cover null & void.
Ah the Dukes of Hazard entry method (for those of you old enough to remember!)
I guess parents should be proud of a genius they raised (first scene).
No one takes responsibility nowadays.... Some people would walk in front of a train and say it swerved to hit them 🤷
I take responsibility. I have common sense - people treat me like I'm odd and awkward. It's depressing how simple so many people have become.
@@thebrowns5337 couldn't agree more! 👍. Most these drivers should be in rubber dinghies,,not cars...

This, so many of them appear to be thick as pig shit, yet must have pretty decent paying jobs to buy these new cars. The mind boggles.
'We are sailing..... home again to the scrapyard........ We going to trash our car for Christmas.....🤪

When did the UK become a bunch of Darwin Award Winners?
Oh, they've always been around. Does, however, seem that the DAWs have become substantially more prolific in recent years.
"Darwin Award Winners" lol another internet armchair intellectual, if they was real Darwin award winners they would be dead...
How did the term ‘Darwin Award’ come to be so misunderstood?
Fair play to the guys helping, they do it out of kindness (and cos it's hilarious to watch)
There really is no accounting for stupid. How can they have no idea at all about the workings of their cars? 🤔🤔
Tbh for most (me included) cars are just another tool. Just like the computer. It works, you only very vaguely understand how. You do not need to understand: cars work just fine without understanding them. Plus people are tired and already late. If you don't know the risk of failure, why not try is a common attitude.
What amazes me is the occasional professional driver fuckup. As they spend so much time on the road, you'd expect them to be aware of rare but serious dangers.
@@IdiotPosterBoyI'm not intelligent but I like to have a knowledge of the workings of any tool I'm using or traveling in from a lighter to a laptop to a passenger plane. It's just being practical I guess.
@@IdiotPosterBoywhat a strange approach to life … you’d rather live in ignorance than spend some time educating yourself

We have a simple policy at my work. Stop, turn around and go another way. Drivers who go into floods and destroy the vans get sacked, no plea or argument, instant gross misconduct dismissal.

I’m convinced theirs a Factory somewhere manufacturing idiots. They must be running round the clock with all the staff on shift work with overtime......demand has never been so high.
It must be near to a BMW or Mercedes garage, looks like the first place they go after being released into the wild.
@FreePigeonI was brought up on a council estate, one of five kids. My father was a lorry driver and mum was a housewife and brought us up well. Dad taught me how to fix my bike and I watched him fix his cars, for years. I'm now 58, have never paid a garage to do work on any of my cars. I'm a teacher of kids who have learning difficulties, so degree educated. My brother and sisters are all degree educated. Both my oldest kids have masters degrees, one in physics and the other in psychology. So yes, council estate childhood creates idiots. Wow.

My driving instructor actually told me never to drive through water like this also not to drive through even large puddles because it will flood the engine… I was 16 😂😂😂😂
Just can't believe how stupid some people are. Seriously, look at the fence on the road, it actually disappears yet the mini driver thought they would try. This is yet another reason why insurance is so high, it should be removed from claims with the claim form stating 'Are you an idiot? y/n'.
the plates of shame at the end :)

Why would anyone attempt to go through water that deep 🤦♂️🤦♂️
Most of those cars and vans are capable of driving through it. The problem is the drivers creating a bow wave and the water rising instead of slowly being pushed away. You'd be surprised what a average car can wade through

A terrible lack of technical education and experience in the UK
Pure school basic’s really isn’t it? Water can not be compressed. Suck, squeeze, bang, blow, the fundamentals of an internal combustion engine. It’s the ‘squeeze’ part that’s costing these people hundreds of pounds in repair costs.
