Definitely is a satisfying sound with the silicone. Without it sounds better in person than what comes through in the video.. could hear a little more character from the board but I didn’t like the sound of the space bar without the silicone
Thanks! This board really surprised me with how nice it sounded. I have a new video coming out next week comparing this entry edition to the aluminum version.
I thought I didn’t like the sound profile of this board, but when I heard the soundtest with lubed stabs and splits, I may have changed my mind. I already bought some splits and I was waiting for the keychron q3 to drop, but if instant gratification changes my mind I might have this board instead. Great video!
Thanks so much! Appreciate the feedback. I agree, for a "budget" board, I was very surprised with how good this thing sounds. I'm considering replacing the stabs with some Durocks to bring it to the next level. The splits are by far my favorite switch at the moment!
This video is really helpful!! I was wondering if you had any recommendations for switches similar in sound to the banana splits (with a somewhat reasonable price)? I'm building a keyboard with this board and I really like the sound that you achieved with them but they aren't available anymore without buying them from scalpers on Ebay :')
Thanks for the positive feedback, Brenna! Check out Alpaca switches, they are very similar to Banana Splits and should be available to buy right now. Good luck with the board build!
I gotta say....the sound with the silicone is the winner for me. awesome and very thorough review!

Do polyfil from pillow instead of silicone see how that sounds. Could make a goof YT short video.
@@thestreamreader Good idea! I'll put it on my list of Shorts to make.. keep an eye out for it. Thanks!
Agreed! It sounds hollow without the silicon...
@@looksrarekeyboards2994 did you end up making this?
Love the intro with the beautiful golden and the switches transition 😂😂
Thanks Scott, appreciate the positive feedback!
Gave a like and sub.
Thanks for sharing costs post customization. Felt like that was lacking among some of the other creators. Cheers
Thanks for the support! I agree, it always bothered me when people don't disclose the full cost!
omg, that last version with the filmed and lubbed switches, that sounds amazing! Great video!

Great video! nice info for someone who's new to custom keyboards
You have been killing it dude! Awesome video!
Thanks man, you might have been my first sub ha! Appreciate the support for real!
I feel so seen in the first 20 seconds of this video 🙈
I would love to see the stab modding!
Maybe I'll make a video about stabilizer modding/tuning!
Nice build!!!!
Great video!
Thanks, Nathan, I appreciate the positive feedback!

i assume the white with orange-ish color and the second set of gmk hammarheads were clones cuz they were only 50$?
GMK hammerheads are not clones - real GMK from Novelkeys. The pink/white keycaps are just generic PBT caps.

Not quite 😂😅
