    I think your advice is quite valid, some channels that may have made it tend to give the same type of advice from my experience

    Huh, i saw someone say ages ago that the algorithm didn't count the creator's comments, if the opposite is true then that's really good to know :0 and good god tags are awful, apparently where you put tags including the description and title can also have some effect and it is ✨nervewracking✨

    • @DuchessCelestia
      @DuchessCelestia  3 года назад +9

      it’s definitely 100% possible that im wrong about that lmao fhejfje dont take my word for it!! it’s just what i’ve personally heard
      DUDE WHAT why does RUclips deliberately make tags so nightmarish

      it doesn’t matter if it does or not because i’m very sure it counts it when they reply to you

    I started my art channel 6 years ago. I started out sharing videos because I thought it would be fun to share my art journey with others. I have benefited from meeting loads of cool art friends. It took me at least 4 years to reach 1k. I am still a small channel (my numbers have got stuck) and that is ok. I am not giving up. I know why I am still a small channel and that is because I stopped going live and stopped being as consistent as I once was. I am also being a bit of a rebel right now in that I am flexing my other creative muscles and doing weaving and other kinds of creativity such as knitting. I did post a vlog about my new adventure weaving and I have asked my community if they would like to see a vlog about my new adventure knitting my very first aran cable jumper, they said yes. I do plan to get back to posting more portrait art videos. I just got fed up trying to do them weekly as I was not painting as much over the restrictions for a number of reasons, which I wont bore you with. I recently gave twitch a try but have since decided I am not going to continue on twitch (Ive just heard that twitch is potentially not doing well) and I am coming back to youtube to do my lives because at least when I go live on youtube I am not talking to myself lol Sorry for the long comment, but you did ask lol

    Awesome advice. My sister and I are trying to grow our channel too and I’ll your tips. For us we focus on time lapses, character art, Art challenges. We want to expand to Art base commentary like you (not on Art drama). I’m excited to see how it goes ❤️

    Thank you so much for these advices 🥰😘!! I'm trying to grow my channel based in speedpaints and tutorials and others concepts. It's kinda hard to me to be consistent because I'm a snail and very indecisive hehe. I wish I could be able to upload videos every week but some of my ideas take some much time.

    • @DuchessCelestia
      @DuchessCelestia  3 года назад +2

      i’m glad it was helpful!! ❤️💙 i totally feel you with that - just do your best for consistency, but don’t burn yourself out trying to get too much done too quickly!! people understand that good content takes time, and your well-being is the number one priority ❤️

    you are my favorite art (commentary) channel sjsj your videos seem so well put together, the art, the set up of the video so you can actually still see the speedpaint, but still have that other half, the voiceover is amazing, because its constant, and you sound confident. (and i find your voice comforting) And overall, your videos seem very professional. I started watching your videos like 5 days ago, and until now when i checked your sub count i had thought you had around 500k subs sjsj (which you def deserve. In my opinion your underrated)
    EDIT: your also all over my reccomended LOL

    I knew this video was going to be something good when I clicked on it, but your advice once again exceeded my expectations by a ton! You covered a lot of things here that I don't think I ever would have considered otherwise ^^ Plus, there was a good amount of humour in it and you made me crack up a couple of times XD Amazing video, Paige

    Just started creating videos for my channel, thanku sm for sharing your experience and advice!
    Really appreciate it, you're a big inspiration to me and one of the reasons I got brave enough to start this! ✨💖
    Doing art commentary has been a dream of mine ever since I started using YT as a teen
    One of my biggest insecurities was editing the Videos (as I have absolutely NO experience with this) but the second I tried it for the first time, I completely fell in love with the process of creating videos :D
    I'd love to once have YT and art be my main stream of income (because being AuDHD, having PTSD etc. really makes it hard for me to work in most environments)
    But honestly ever since I actually started creating these videos I'm certain to keep doing this wheter I'll make any money from it or not
    It's so much fun and I see so much growth in my skills and also myself (kinda feels like creative therapy to me...)
    No matter what happens, I'll definetely keep doing this! :D
    And I'm so happy and proud that I was brave enough to try it out and actually start this channel >u

    Fantastic video,also yes, as a small channel, comments are an amazing thing (that being said, I hate the harassment that tends to come along with them). Comments truly are a double edged sword. Regardless, I actually don’t mind being a small channel. I’m a mixed fandom channel that started with MLP, DC, and Disney. Art has always been a small part of that though with one of my series that I really should get back to. Also I am mostly consistent (Tuesday/Thursday mornings around 8:30 or 9:00) but I honestly post whenever. Also shorts are literally my best friend for when I don’t want to put out a longer video or want a more immediate one. Great video nonetheless. Keep up the good work!!! Love all your content btw! Also yes, scripting has become my best friend! It helps for fandom channels so much as well.

    I was able to grab a lot of advice from your video. Just now, I was examining the analytics of how my videos were doing and noticed that only a few seconds are being watched from every single one. It made me wonder if either I was doing something wrong or maybe my content isn't very interesting. It does get discouraging when you're excited about uploading a video only to realize it's not the outcome you expect. And that's understandable, it does take time. Hearing your advice, it does make me think outside of the box. Thanks for making this video and I hope you continue to do well with your channel.

      thank you so much for the comment - i’m so glad the video was able to help you!! i 100% know where you’re coming from and often feel the same, and wish you the same kindness and good luck you wished me ❤️💙 the algorithm can be hard to deal with, as can accommodating audience interests, but I’m sure we can both find our way anyway! i wish you all the best ❤️

    IT ME
    I'M CAFÉ SOLEY
    SHJHKSJJSJJSJK
    I can't generally convey what I'm trying to say without a script, so making one is very helpful to me. When scripting I do my best to put some character into it, but as I am now I'm still very awkward with speaking, it's something I hope to get better at. I can sing better than I can speak 😩
    When it comes to planning and organization,,, well I kinda bounce off of inspiration, if in don't feel inspired to do something I don't jump into it, though I am trying to get better at organization too, thank god my dearest chum is real good at organizing because I accidentally initiated a huge commentary project about vocal synths and I think I would crumble without her, I owe her my life.
    I really look forward to seeing your stills!!! :O
    And thank you for uploading today, I was having a "sad for no good reason" sort of day 💖

    I'm not exactly expecting to blow up at this point since I'm still a beginner at what I do but I hope in the future when my skills are a bit better, that the algorithm would give me chance or something. Thanks for the info. Not sure if I actually do want to post only my refined work since that would mean less fun= more stress= my perfectionist tendency showing= not getting to shitpost, that doesn't sound fun to me but maybe I'll just post both shitposts and refined works, because the former is less time consuming and the later will take me months. Though content wise I don't have anything specific in mind.

    Just out of curiosity, have you had any issues with COPPA, or know of other artists who have? It seems difficult to make the call wether or not kids are likely to consume your content, considering art, especially pop/cartoony is more accessible
