I’ve watched other artists give tips and advices for small art channels, but the ones you provide in this video are way more valuable.
Thank you for the motivation and for being straightforward.

BeeJay…THANK YOU for being straightforward, patient, logical and using common sense in explaining this process. I could not agree more that our purpose is to provide VALUE. I am an artist among other things & I do not have a You Tube channel for that, but might in the future as I decide what and how I want to go public. I am just retiring from 52 years as a Hospital/Clinical Pharmacist but have been drawing since I was knee high to a grasshopper (as they used to say)! I too invested in an iPad Pro 2 years ago and have been painting, mostly for others…birthdays, honors, special gifts…(printed on canvas) and more. I do use Procreate and am still learning. Your approach and wisdom are palpable and I greatly appreciate what you bring. Jimm ,
P.S. I agree with the guy who posted just ahead of me….People who want something for nothing…’would you give me an iPad genre people’…are selfish, go out and earn it like the rest of us!

It blows my mind that random strangers are messaging you that often just asking you to buy them things. That just seems like such a bizarre and rude thing for somebody to do. I mean even if you were well off enough to do it, it's ridiculous for an internet stranger to come ask for it out of the blue like that, and especially the fact that they are asking for such wildly expensive things.

These were some great tips. I especially agree with you about doing real time videos (what I do on my channel) as I realized I learn better when I get to watch from beginning to end and so I try to provide that for my viewers. It show that people like that as my watch percentage is also higher on those videos, meaning people watched for longer while hopefully learning something. I guess I'm on the right track :)

I love your videos for all these reasons! I’ve just started with Procreate as a complete newbie and you don’t assume I know a thing which is awesome, cos I know nothing… about Procreate that is! Following your step by step stuff has taught me so much. My fave video so far was the one you did with your wife as the things she struggled with was me to a T! I have a channel for mixed media stuff and follow all of what you talk about in this video… I wish more creatives would watch this video of yours before they start out! You didn’t get where you are in the first 5 videos you posted… it has been 3 years of hard graft. Thanks for all you share with us, I wish the world was filled with more people like you… it would be a much nicer place!

I do make a bit of tutorials, but I'm not comfortable showing myself or speaking in my video's (yet). I do narrate with subtitles and try to edit my video's as well as I can. @LeBonesCreations 3 года назад

Fabulous! This really helped to make sense of things. I am not interested in doing a RUclips channel for drawing myself, but I found this video very educational and answered many questions I was wondering but never asked.
About people asking yiu to,buy them an iPad, good grief, that is super bold and rude in my opinion. I appreciate that your teaching is real time and that is one of my BIGGEST reasons I watch your channel. I also, like that you reinforce each step you take and you announce what you are doing next. I end up pausing videos, I do so with you, because I am slower at completing and I’m a a perfectionist. I was taught in school, follow the teacher, do exactly what they do, after the lesson and in yiur own time, modify or do it different. I am working to break this but I have had it so engrained into me, mother an elementary school teacher, I fall into wanting to do it exactly as the instructor. Your videos allow me to follow that and yiur teaching style is conducive to how I learn.
I also, appreciate how yiu have brush sets and you explain them, and you explain why a specific brush is needed for what step. Yiur videos are easy to follow, and I have success with a completed project I can be proud of. (However I’m still working on the Halloween slime monster as I can’t get a couple things right.) Time lapse is very frustrating and often leads me to not complete a project. Lastly I like that your projects are for the most part under an hour. Yes they take me longer than that, but the instruction time is perfect as I don’t get overwhelmed or bogged down by the length of the video.
So BeeJay, you rock for me and I love the characters you create and help me or create. I have incorporated a great deal,of what I learn form you into my mandala type designs. I have developed what I call the Doodle Dala and the Animal dala where animals, characters, cartoon things appear in my designs. I have just started doing more using your eye style modified of course, but I will send you some in an email. I have shared before with you.
Thank you for all yiur hard work and I recommend you constantly to people. You are a fantabulous teacher! Leah aka LeBonesCreations.

I’m struggling with ataxia and anxiety…. My art… good or bad helps with my hand eye coordination and also as a stress release. My son wants me to do shorts to start to get comfortable and learn the basics of how it all works. I don’t even know how to draw on my iPad or own an I pencil…. So many questions on even just how to set everything from account info to logo and branding to gear and even approach. :/

lol, the thought that people just randomly ask someone for a hand out is mad.. I started my channel mainly because I do demonstrations for clubs and I thought this would be a way for the club members to find out if i was worth going to the meeting for.. lol... my videos are getting better (thankfully) so to make money or fame are the 2 lowest reasons for me. All of the points you have made are things I have been working through and learning, wish I had seen this video before I started. Although I have never tagged any as a tutorial thankfully.

I haven't drawn in a long time due to life/deployment/school etc...and also I have an apple pro that I haven't used and trying to get into drawing again. I subscribed to your channel today because I like how you explain your material and I think learning from you will be fun. You don't assume people know something which I have a problem with some RUclipsrs with their so called "tutorials". Thank you for educating us. :)

Wow, 20k for a whole year! Got 2 more years on the mortgage so I guess I won’t be changing the day job anytime soon. Love your channel, followed you for a long time, you deserve to at least be making a living from your videos. They are top notch and deserve a much bigger audience. Your teaching and explanation of the subject is very thorough and too the point. Wishing you all the best for the future mate. I have a 12.9 iPad that is a couple of years old now, but the new iPad 2021 with the latest chip has my attention. Don’t worry, I’ll purchase it myself mate. 🤣🤣🤣
All the best from Scotland pal...⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Thank you! My problem is figuring out what value I want to give. You did give me some inspiration to work from. I came back to drawing 5 years ago so Imposter Syndrome creeps in when I plan my channel.

    • @BeeJayDeL

Imposter Syndrome can creep in for everyone! Don’t let that get to you...don’t worry about what other people “might” say...just put yourself out there and give it a shot. Don’t let “you” be the thing that holds you back! ❤️❤️❤️

What if you only do physical drawings? I mainly only do drawings. I like doing fanart and my own abstract art. I'm wanting to make my channel mainly about my writing and artwork because it's what gives me joy. I forgot what that feeling felt like until recently to produce work that I feel good about.

Adding to the last tip… there is a free program call OBS, which will let you live stream an iPad screen if you choose to do that… mightn’t be for all, but nothing will get in the way of the screen so the viewers can watch you draw without distractions on the screen… you would need a webcam/mic if you choose to show ya face though…

So I do gaming and art (tutorials, tips, speedpaints), should I just use education for art and entertainment for game vids instead of the gaming category?
Also, watching this helped me realized I messed up a lot on my tutorials by having time lapses...😅. I guess I could make them again but show differently so that way my viewers can understand better rather than probably pausing trying to understand what's going on. Thank you for that tip!
