I deconstructed in 2021 after a lifetime of believing in the Christian faith in which I was raised (40+ years). It was emotionally difficult and grievous, and while I landed without belief in any god, I realized how much my personal experience with culture shaped me. Now it fascinates me to see evolution of cultures regarding sources of my childhood's faith particularly (since it was such a significant part of who I was for so long). I studied and meditated on the Bible a bunch, but this cultural information was minimal from leadership sources, and I was mostly satisfied with what I thought I knew. I stayed in my lane for so long. Indoctrination is so strong. It feeds itself. I feel freer now than I ever did through Jesus (who seems to be the continued physical manifestation of god in the Christian faith even if the big G God is incorporeal).
Congrats! I got out of 30+ years of Christianity about 11 months ago. There is way more freedom outside of Christ. I totally agree the indoctrination runs deep. I love music and there is not one day I don't find myself humming or singing a praise/worship song. It's frustrating as hell. Good luck on your journey. You're not alone.

@bluestargalaxy9447 Same here! Other than Secular Bible Study, I save all of my atheist YT videos to watch on Sunday. Sundays were incredibly traumatizing for me growing up, and this practice helps me continue to take my life back.
Yes, 15 minute episodes would be fabulous. Many of the agnostic and atheist RUclips videos go way too long. Who has two and a half hours to watch through those long videos? Short and sweet just like this video might be a better approach.
I also agree with breaking it down as small as you want. I own the book but haven't had a chance to read it yet. It would be fun to read along with you.
I would prefer 15 shorter videos as opposed to 5 larger ones. That would allow adequate time to do justice to each concept and make it easier to find the time to watch the videos. Thanks for all you do!

I just ordered this book -- it sounds fantastic! I vote for 15 episodes. You have become my favorite channel on this topic. I love the way you organize your thoughts logically and consistently.
Fascinating and very excited to hear you go through this book. As far as I am concerned, this channel should have over 1 million subscribers and be broadcast on a major network tv station. If we are forced to watch “Christian” evangelism every Sunday, why not offer a factual channel like this?
Despite how Abrahamic Religions want to differentiate themselves from “Pagans”. At the end of the day, It is just a refusal mentality of them on what merit the other religions influenced on them.
Inspiring philosophy's series on Genesis has this type of "oh but if you look at the context, culture, history, age, etc then everything makes sense" So this book is the perfect recommendation, thanks Brandon
Didn’t think this would happen but, I am disappointed. I didn’t want the lesson to be over!! As George Clooney’s character said in my all time favorite movie, Oh Brother Where Art Thou, (paraphrased) “my appetite was whetted without being bed back down.” I need more! 🤣❤️🤣
Definitely the 15 shorter episodes! Like some comments have said, it would allow for more time to compile a thorough explanation on a part. Also, people can listen to them for those who are stuck forcefully having to attend the sunday gatherings lol.
WOW..........just wow, this is amazing, like finally being able to pull back the curtain and see the actual "wizard" for who ( or what ) he really is. Makes total sense.
I cannot tell you how important “Yahweh and the gods and goddesses of Canaan” was to my deconversion journey. It was extremely fascinating to hear true unbiased scholarship on the origin and of God as we know him, put everything into insane perspective for me and was the only thing that ever made sense. This book sounds like another amazing read, it’ll be nice to cover it chapter by chapter and treat it like a book club, going extensively into commentary on each chapter.
I was never a believer, so I have no idea if I would have been able to overcome the emotional manipulation of indoctrination. Kudos to anyone who does.
Firstly, thank you so much for all the good that you do through this channel. I was raised Roman Catholic and went to a Catholic school. I told my parents this summer that I no longer shared their religious beliefs. As expected, it did not go well. My husband and I still go to church with my parents to keep the peace. We love your Bible Study series as well as all your other videos. It helps to keep us sane. Our vote is going through this book chapter by chapter.
If you want to get out of getting hauled to church just start asking the priests the hard questions like: 1. If God is all powerful and all good why did he make a world so full of evil? 2. If God is all knowing, including the future, why did he make man knowing we would screw it up so bad? 3. If everything needs created, and God created everything - who created God? Since theists hate actually having to answer real questions they will soon be asking your parents to leave you at home. Congratulations on throwing off the shackles of the mind and welcome to the club.
I agree. In order to review this book and its subject properly you need to go over it by chapter. It might not be your most popular series due to a lack of engagement boosters but a worthy series nonetheless.
@MindShiftSkeptic Brandon, I want to know, how do you handle the unkind comments? You and I have both cried out against atheism at some point, right? I remember saying many times that I would never ever turn from God or be an atheist! Like you, I was a true believer. I loved Jesus with all my heart for years and years. If Heaven was real, there would be 100s there because of my testimony. I've written 2 Christian novels and over 100 poems all dedicated to the Lord of my life, Jesus. It seems impossible to so many that we ever "knew" Jesus if we were willing to turn so completely from our faith. We aren't believed because of the dissonance it would cause their lives, right? Brandon, what if we stopped engaging? All of us? We don't want Christians walking away saying, "Oh, glory to God, I was persecuted once again for Jesus. Look at me, take the abuse and suffer for the Lord." I've said those words myself. Years and years ago. I think a lot of Christians want bragging rights. They want to feel like they did their duty and stood up for Christ. It would be so nice if we could all take a stand and simply not react. They believe what they are being told, and they will continue no matter what we say. What do you think? Honestly?
@terrijohnston9302 id question how you stopped believing? If no one else spoke up, no books or youtube videos by atheists, no reason being shared, no holes in the bible pointed out, idk about you but im not sure i would have made it out on my own. I dont care about the ones that will use me to feel better about themselves and like they won, they can have it. I care about the person who i can finally help free from their shame, guilt, fear, abuse etc
@@MindShift-Brandon I think you misunderstood. I was only talking about the unkind comments in the comment section. What you are doing and so many others is essential! I wish I had had this platform when I was deconstructing.
@MindShiftSkeptic I wish I had had the support others do today! I walked away 26 years ago with zero support and it was very very scary and difficult. I stopped going to Church and only told my sister why. It was terrifying to speak out back then. All I knew was that Christianity no longer made sense to me. I was tired of crying for all the souls lost in eternal torment and I felt that I could no longer worship a God I was nicer than. We didn't have any resources back then. I was in a small town in Montana. It was years before I found Dawkins, Hutchinson, and Sam Harris. And I had to do it after moving into the "city" and by visiting a Barns and Nobel early in the morning so no one would see me. In 26 years I have not looked back. I have peace and a great amount of love in my life and the God of the Bible has no place in it. I wish you hadn't misunderstood. I really wanted to know how you handled the unkind nonsensical comments.
So excited to see this!I love doctor Stavrakopoulou. She's a brilliant scholar and fantastic communicator, and that book is awesome. I'd vote for 15 shorter (but not too short!) videos covering more discrete topics, and maybe a longer summary at the end. But will listen to whatever format you choose to cover the book
I love the idea and direction you're going. I'm always interested in the actual history surrounding the Abrahamic religions, but it can be so hard to find sources that don't just follow the 'company line' that has been whitewashed over centuries. My vote on how to break it down would probably be by broad topic instead of by chapter. It seems that keeping to a single subject area is more utilitarian and it also prevents the dryness that seems to come from a chapter-by-chapter reading. Keep up the great work! I'm sooo happy I found your channel and can't wait to see that subscriber count shoot up.
It's begun 🎉your breakdown of God - An Anatomy.. My vote is for 15 part series. Reasoning..I think your dissection will help interest others in purchasing the book themselves to add to a library. And it will assist with making highlights in each sections various parts that can become notes. Those notes can then help the deconstructionist to bolster their understanding and provide a confidence with knowledge of the evolution of the god character. (Who should not be feared). Long-winded..I know 😅 Great start to an excellent breakdown of an awesome book!
I just started this audiobook and love it! It helped me, along with watching your channel, officially deconvert after coming back to Christianity for the sake of my marriage. I was able to tell my husband and this time around and there was so much love and understanding from the both of us. I’d do 15 episodes!
This is a great topic, totally new concept to me. I look forward to your covering this book. You do such a great job of articulating concepts and arguments for or against a belief. Thank you for doing these.
Jason thankyou for being willing to approach this topic with a use your head not your heart point of view. As a former Bible thumper myself I realized , I had to step back and be willing to look at Christianity not from the heart but from head. Thanks again good job.
When I was a Christian one of my biggest gripes was people not putting scripture into context. While I am an Atheist now this sounds like a super interesting book because Francesca does exactly that. I don't practice religion, but I do still find it very interesting from a scholarly perspective. I think it tells us a lot about ourselves and I find that information useful. I hope in the future more and more people begin viewing religion with the same perspective as Francesca and scholars like her. I hope humans will be able to move past the fundamentalist ways of thinking into something more accurate and in line with reality in regards to religious thought.
This sort of detailed book review is super helpful to those of us who WANT to understand more but simply don't have the time or mental energy we wish we had to read. The way you break down the concepts is really useful. Thanks so much.
I personally would prefer 15 episodes, either way I am looking forward to it! I love all your videos 🤍 they are so helpful, thank you so much for your work!
Great job and yeah I found a couple sources that explain all of where y'all Way comes from how he started out being a lesser storm Deity and then how Yahweh and El and the other gods were all Canaanite gods El was the daddy dr. Kip Davis a Dead Sea Scrolls scholar shows the text from the dead sea scrolls version, and the Septuagint version as well as the Masoretic text version and you can see how they changed it over time it doesn't look like I can post a picture here or I'd show it to you
15 please. I'm still on my journey, and I don't know what I believe. However, I'm a lover of history and knowledge, so I appreciate your work. Thank you.
I haven't even finished the video but i had to comment. I just ordered my copy of this book. I watched a mythvision with her and she seems so insightful and thorough in this book I had to get it. I am glad you are talking about this. I think this channel has a good sense of new and exciting thoughts and literature on top of insightful take aways. As always i am impressed. Keep it up.
I’m in the camp for you to make whatever the majority requests in dividing up this new series. However, I listen to you and your videos while working on the clock, and so long-form content from someone passionate about what they do keeps me engaged. However, we also know you’re putting a lot of effort into every video, making sure you’re carefully researched and not skipping or missing things best you can. Long as you keep pacing yourself, I believe we’ll be satisfied either way. You’re doing great, Brandon! (Also, have you gotten my email by chance?)
I think I would prefer 15 mini episodes. This allows for each section to be fully covered, and you wont have to rush to prevent making the video too long. This will also make it easier to watch since I wont have to allot an large chunk of time dedicated to the video.
Thanks so much for your work. I vote for the 15 mini videos. You help me so much as I deconstruct my christianity. (Just watched video twice) Thanks again Brandon.
Excellent! I have the Blue one also. ;-) I pre-ordered from the UK here in the USA. Got the audible and a FS T-Shirt and a few of her other books. When de-converting (did not know at the time) I found her 3 videos (Buried Secrets, etc,) and recorded them. I was blown away. Anyway, so glad to see you review her book. Sorry for rambling lol
I’m so excited you’re going through this book. I really think getting to know who Yahweh is/was and who he is not, is a huge key to Christian deconstruction.
I definitely prefer 15 shorter, more bodypart/chapter-specific videos as opposed to 5 longform/combo ones; it would be easier to both absorb the info, as well as come back to specific parts. I also feel like it would give you less pressure to quickly cover multiple topics in one video; I love your in-depth analysis, and I think each section/chapter deserves to be thoroughly explored, context and all (I also just like hearing your input and I'd hate for you to have to restrict yourself). As always, delightful video, Brandon. Thank you for your hard work, your analysis is very insightful and concise, and I'm definitely fascinated by Francesca Stavrakopoulou- thanks for introducing this awesome book :)
Francesca is great. Hadn't had a chance to read this yet. Now I have an excuse. Well researched, argued and cited I'm sure, as usual. I look forward to your critique.
I remember this book being cited somewhere, but I cannot recall where I saw it. Still, I'm looking forward to it, and I recommend comparatively smaller and more numerous videos in order to give each section their time in the sun.
I needed this so today. We serve an awesome god! Get this: my little brother lost his best friend/brother and 30+year business partner 3 weeks ago- tragic accident in my brother's face, 911, CPR from my brother, etc., hospital, back to site with wonderful police who HAVE to investigate, 3 weeks trying to make everything work, funeral plans, 2 grandchildren for a week (which helped them)and the FIRST huge service today (they both are well-known musicians in Nashville). My brother has to speak, as along with his friend's wife HE is considered the chief mourner. Brother and wife arrived home from Seattle around 12 am (from grandchildren), got a call AT SEVEN AM from Kennel that one of their dogs had died in the night. In the past TWO HOURS they have gone to get that puppy (actually old and sick but their baby), bring her home with her sister, bury her in the yard. Now, they have to get ready to go to the graveside service for our friend. I wish there were a fucking god, so that I could truly curse his lazy, damned ass! Whew! Thanks, dear Brandon.
@@Karkhar-z-kaiI don't necessarily believe there isn't a god, I just know it's not any of the ones humans made up. It also probably doesn't care about us. At least, no more than we care about the ants swarming around at our feet.
@@Karkhar-z-kai yes, there is a "A God", however it is NOT "The" God of the Bible. Who and what he is, what his philosophy of life is, I have no idea. I do get the impression there is some sort of civil war going between two deities, which would explain the pain and suffering presented to mankind.
When it comes to book reviews, I generally prefer a chapter by chapter breakdown. I do enjoy longer videos too though, so if you feel you can get a thorough enough look at the book by doing longer videos over the sections, i think that could work as well.
I think I’m going to like this new series. I’ve been an atheist for over a decade and frankly I’m getting tired of hearing the same responses to the same apologetics. But I really enjoy learning about scholarly opinions on the Bible. You referenced in this video how there’s so much stuff in the text that we don’t even notice, and that’s stuff I really enjoy. I’ve recently been listening to a lot of Dan McClellan who is one of Dr. Francesca’s students, and Bart Ehrman’s podcast as they cover stuff like this. I’d rather you cover the book in whichever format lets you go into the most detail on it, it’s been on my radar for a while.
Love this! I would like the 15 episodes to get into the details. Also, could you do something on Christmas? It was my favorite holiday but now I’m fighting my love for the season and the religious aspect of this. I hate it but the Christmas hymns are still so beautiful when you hear them.
This book is EVERYTHING. When I learned the truth that Yahweh was just one of many gods in this ancient pantheon, the foundations of my faith crumbled almost overnight. If the beginning is myth then the rest that follows is as well. So happy you're doing a series on this Brandon!
I’ve heard of this woman before. There was a documentary she was in at some point that I watched. She’s amazing. Can’t wait to see the upcoming videos.
One minor comment about Deuteronomy 32:8 is that most translations write "sons of Israel" but most have the footnote to say "sons of god(s)" is shown in earlier texts. Could be interesting if you did do a deep dive into the pantheon and development of monotheism some time in the future. I enjoy your work very much.
Must….buy….book…. But seriously, I would be down to hear you cover each chapter. I think the sections sound large and it might be a challenge to do each one justice. Thanks for your thoughtfulness in going over these ideas! I’ve learned a lot from you.
Your stuff is so thoughtful and so fascinating. My gut says to do this part by part, not chapter by chapter. But maybe if the videos by part turn out to be hits, and people are asking for a deeper dive, then maybe you do follow-up videos by chapter (or at least the more interesting ones)?
You should put out a poll to ask the 15-mini series vs 6 parts…. I think I’m apt to say the mini-series bc it gives more focus on specific pieces rather than a load of info, so it’s easier to share. I’ll love it if/as you dive more into the Canaanite pantheon. I think other channels including myth vision podcast has helped shed more nuanced light on these topics.
Started reading it a few weeks ago. Reading it, it finally makes sense of the bible and exposes it as a mix and match of different polythesitic stories of the Bronze Age Levant.
This book is really good, and Francesca Stavrakapulou has guested on several atheism channels and is a really good guest - might be worth inviting her to your channel.
Great work as always! I can't wait to learn new things about this deity to get a whole picture, especially when the view is based on something concrete and explained by someone knowledgable on the subject. I vote for the 15 shorter parts, but not too short😂 maybe 30ish minutes will suffice.
I am so excited about this new series! Yes, 15 mini episodes please. More detail is always better, helps fill in the tapestry (unless it's my sister in law describing her mom's oral surgery)
I personally enjoy the lengthy deep dives, but i also realize that the YT algorithm might reward multi minis , and it might be more digestible for a wider audience. Maybe a compromise where you produce deep dives on each section but then edit them into shorter vids so you catch the viewers who might be daunted by a longer runtime?
@@MindShift-Brandon if you do, also make sure to get the little book of ikigai as well. Both are good but the little book of ikigai is more in alignment with the Japanese ikigai philosophy, but the diagram presented in the other one is still helpful and useful. The little book of ikigai helps to understand it’s not about finding a happy overlap so much as that it’s everything on the diagram. That happiness can be found in each part of the diagram. Ikigai is the whole thing.
I love the part in the book where she describes growing up reading the stories of the bible along with greek mythology, and not really seeing any difference between the two. So much that, when she gets into academia, everyone keeps telling her that all the refs to God's body parts are just "metaphor"...so she learns the languages and the cultures and the more she reads, the more she realizes that, No, the text *literally* means exactly what it says! And she even quotes much later Christian authors who are incensed by believers who actually believe that God has a physical body, showing that the belief WAS real and persisted among some even into the Christian era!
This was my experience too. I was never indoctrinated as a child, and I was always very interested in fantasy fiction and mythology. When I finally got around to reading the Bible for myself, I was like, "yeah, this is all just the same shit." Like, it still kind of baffles me that grown adults can take this fairy tale nonsense literally, when they so readily dismiss essentially identical legends from other cultures out of hand.
Every video you make is so enjoyable. I think you shouldn't rush this, because time only makes your videos better. So I'd prefer a chapter by chapter analysis of the book.
Excellent review, thanks for the time and effort invested in it. It has inspired me to buy the audio book which I am enjoying listening to in my morning pre-breakfast winter gym sessions. I shocked my fellow exercisers this morning with a loud "You've got to be kidding!" , so amazingly revelatory is this book.
I cannot verbalize how excited I am for this series, I don’t care how you format it, I’m PUMPED to see the historical context for this god we have almost completely rewritten today. I’ve got to get this book!
Thanks for the video, I look forward to the continuation of the book. Each chapter is enough to mull over each time so take as long as is necessary to complete the project.

1/4 of the way there, let's keep spreading the word!
I agree. Would "they" ever let that happen? Let's hope.
Despite how Abrahamic Religions want to differentiate themselves from “Pagans”. At the end of the day, It is just a refusal mentality of them on what merit the other religions influenced on them.
Inspiring philosophy's series on Genesis has this type of "oh but if you look at the context, culture, history, age, etc then everything makes sense"
So this book is the perfect recommendation, thanks Brandon
My Pleasure!
Didn’t think this would happen but, I am disappointed. I didn’t want the lesson to be over!! As George Clooney’s character said in my all time favorite movie, Oh Brother Where Art Thou, (paraphrased) “my appetite was whetted without being bed back down.” I need more! 🤣❤️🤣
Ha! Love that, Beegee! Well you most likely will have another 15-20 episodes on this book alone the way the votes are going.
The amount of information contained in that book almost requires a 15 part series.
I've reread it four times and still learn something new each time.
Man, you said it. This will be 22 episodes. 1 for each mini chapter instead of larger part.
Definitely the 15 shorter episodes! Like some comments have said, it would allow for more time to compile a thorough explanation on a part. Also, people can listen to them for those who are stuck forcefully having to attend the sunday gatherings lol.
Thanks!
WOW..........just wow, this is amazing, like finally being able to pull back the curtain and see the actual "wizard" for who ( or what ) he really is. Makes total sense.
Yes! It gets so good
15 mini episodes would be nice.
Good to know. Thanks
You and me both! This book is the best resource i have found yet on the topic
I was never a believer, so I have no idea if I would have been able to overcome the emotional manipulation of indoctrination. Kudos to anyone who does.
IIRC Prof Franceska was also the doctoral supervisor of Dan McClellan, of tik tok and Data Over Dogma Podcast fame, when he studied for his PhD
Oh very cool! Ill have to check that out
15 mini episodes and put them in a playlist. I’ve got a little kid and want to watch with him.
Yesss boi. I was waiting for this one!!! Thanks. And I'd prefer 15 mini-episodes. They are way more digestible.
Ha! Glad to hear that! Hope you enjoy the series.
Yes, I would love a deep dive into each chapter!
Thank you. That is all so very kind and encouraging!
If you want to get out of getting hauled to church just start asking the priests the hard questions like:
Your channel is a goldmine. Thank you for the time you dedicated to this. Really appreciate your work!
My absolute pleasure. Thank you!
Every chapter...this sounds amazing
Good to know. Thanks!
I agree. In order to review this book and its subject properly you need to go over it by chapter. It might not be your most popular series due to a lack of engagement boosters but a worthy series nonetheless.
I vote for 15 mini episodes. Easier to absorb everything. Thank you.
Thank you!
Thanks for this!
Great advice. Thanks so much for the kind encouragement too!
Long-winded..I know 😅
Great start to an excellent breakdown of an awesome book!
Love this feedback. Thanks so much!
Great vid! Personally, I'd prefer less but longer videos. I keep these playing on the background when I work so it's more practical for me that way
Thanks so much. Appreciate the feedback.
I just started this audiobook and love it! It helped me, along with watching your channel, officially deconvert after coming back to Christianity for the sake of my marriage. I was able to tell my husband and this time around and there was so much love and understanding from the both of us. I’d do 15 episodes!
I am so happy for you. Love that you’re figuring it out with him. And thank you!
This is a great topic, totally new concept to me. I look forward to your covering this book. You do such a great job of articulating concepts and arguments for or against a belief. Thank you for doing these.
Thats so nice to hear. Thank you. Excited for you to hear from this amazing book!
Glad to hear. Thanks so much!
I forgot the states does day light saving time. I was like its after 10, wonder if Brandon cancelled today
Warms my heart! Thanks for being here for it!
Great man, can never get enough from you
Many thanks!
Such a great channel! And you're an amazing person Brandon, thank you for what you are doing, keep up the great work!
Thank you very much for your kindness!
I personally would prefer 15 episodes, either way I am looking forward to it!
I love all your videos 🤍 they are so helpful, thank you so much for your work!
Thats so kind! Thank you very much
Looking forward to the series. Thanks 😊
Appreciate that!
Great job and yeah I found a couple sources that explain all of where y'all Way comes from how he started out being a lesser storm Deity and then how Yahweh and El and the other gods were all Canaanite gods El was the daddy
dr.
Thank you.
Appreciate that. Good luck on the journey. Here to help whenever i can.
Keep it up.
Love that. Thanks so much!
Too kind! I am way behind on emails. Please forgive me! But i promise ill get to them all
@@MindShift-BrandonAll good. “Everybody gets one” as they say, haha!
Do the 15 mini episodes!
Thanks for letting me know.
I think I would prefer 15 mini episodes. This allows for each section to be fully covered, and you wont have to rush to prevent making the video too long. This will also make it easier to watch since I wont have to allot an large chunk of time dedicated to the video.
Perfect. Thank you!
Thanks so much for your work. I vote for the 15 mini videos. You help me so much as I deconstruct my christianity. (Just watched video twice) Thanks again Brandon.
Thats so lovely to hear. Thanks for letting me know.
I'm leaning towards the 5 parts approach but anything you decide is good by me. I'll be watching them all.
Thank you so much. Very kind!
I think more episodes covering each chapter would be right up your alley.
Perfect. Thanks!
15 mini epidsodes please
Thanks for the vote!
Man, you said it. This book is an atheist-maker!
15 mini episodes please. I can’t wait to get this book!
Thanks!
You are getting through some of the hardest days of my life. Thank you.
Glad to hear its helpful. Reach out if you need!
One of the best books I've read in over a decade. I'm super excited to hear your analysis. Personally, I'd enjoy either form.
Nice. Thank you!
Love this thoughtful feedback. Thank you so much!
Francesca is great. Hadn't had a chance to read this yet. Now I have an excuse. Well researched, argued and cited I'm sure, as usual.
I look forward to your critique.
Thanks so much. Its so so good!
I remember this book being cited somewhere, but I cannot recall where I saw it. Still, I'm looking forward to it, and I recommend comparatively smaller and more numerous videos in order to give each section their time in the sun.
Thanks for the vote!
Thanks for bringing this book to our attention. I have not yet read it, but it seems like a nice complement to Karen Armstrong's "A History of God".
I love that book!!
The realities of this world are obviously hard enough without adding in this false hope of a god. Thanks for sharing.
@@MindShift-Brandon It felt good to let it out to you and all my dear atheist friends here.
I still "believe" in God but not that wrathful, hatful one in the bible and by "believe" I'm dropping all beliefs.
Read the book last year - it is well worth it! And she's great as a speaker/lecturer as well.
Yes love her!
When it comes to book reviews, I generally prefer a chapter by chapter breakdown. I do enjoy longer videos too though, so if you feel you can get a thorough enough look at the book by doing longer videos over the sections, i think that could work as well.
Appreciate that!
Appreciate all that. Thank you!
Mind = blown.
Thanks for bringing this to my attention and can't wait to see more.
Glad you liked it! And my pleasure.
Love this! I would like the 15 episodes to get into the details. Also, could you do something on Christmas? It was my favorite holiday but now I’m fighting my love for the season and the religious aspect of this. I hate it but the Christmas hymns are still so beautiful when you hear them.
Thanks!
Looking forward to this, very much so!
Thanks so much!
I'm excited and very eager to get to hear you dissect the book chapter by chapter
Thank you!
This book is EVERYTHING. When I learned the truth that Yahweh was just one of many gods in this ancient pantheon, the foundations of my faith crumbled almost overnight. If the beginning is myth then the rest that follows is as well. So happy you're doing a series on this Brandon!
Im gonna start calling it the atheist-maker! It’s unbelievable how good it is. Thank you!
"the foundations of my faith crumbled almost overnight."
Talk about extreme case of gullibility.
Got the book and read it and this will help so much. So much info in this book.
So glad to hear it!
I’ve heard of this woman before. There was a documentary she was in at some point that I watched. She’s amazing. Can’t wait to see the upcoming videos.
She really is! Thanks for watching
Shorter episodes pls! I’d love for u to fit as much detail as possible. Great channel
Thanks so much!
Must….buy….book…. But seriously, I would be down to hear you cover each chapter. I think the sections sound large and it might be a challenge to do each one justice. Thanks for your thoughtfulness in going over these ideas! I’ve learned a lot from you.
Thats awesome to hear. Thank you very much. Appreciate your input.
Your stuff is so thoughtful and so fascinating. My gut says to do this part by part, not chapter by chapter. But maybe if the videos by part turn out to be hits, and people are asking for a deeper dive, then maybe you do follow-up videos by chapter (or at least the more interesting ones)?
Appreciate that so much. Thanks for the vote
Thanks for the input!
Wow! This sounds very interesting. I vote for going by body parts, but either way this will be fascinating.
Thanks so much!
I think a chapter by chapter consideration would be awesome. There's a lot to unpack. Thanks for doing an overview of this book.
Thanks for the input!
I am so excited about this series!
Thanks for being here for it!
Really looking forward to this series!
Oh i plan on it! Hoping she will come on for the final episode
Great work as always! I can't wait to learn new things about this deity to get a whole picture, especially when the view is based on something concrete and explained by someone knowledgable on the subject.
I vote for the 15 shorter parts, but not too short😂 maybe 30ish minutes will suffice.
Ha. Love that. Thanks for the vote
This video was one of the final nails in the coffin of my deconstruction and anxiety that came from religion. Thank you.
Well then hold onto your hat. By the time we are through this book, youll never even second guess. Glad it was helpful
I am so excited about this new series! Yes, 15 mini episodes please. More detail is always better, helps fill in the tapestry (unless it's my sister in law describing her mom's oral surgery)
Lol! Thank you
I personally enjoy the lengthy deep dives, but i also realize that the YT algorithm might reward multi minis , and it might be more digestible for a wider audience. Maybe a compromise where you produce deep dives on each section but then edit them into shorter vids so you catch the viewers who might be daunted by a longer runtime?
Great suggestions! Thanks so much
Imma binge watch these since it's the weekend and i have nothin to do lol
Enjoy! So much fascinating content information in that book.
This already sounds fascinating! I’m looking forward to more of this, however you break it up!
I’ve known a lot of this info but I never really knew the details. This will be very helpful to my cause. Thank you.
Glad to be of use! Enjoy
@@MindShift-Brandon have you read Ikigai? It’s a Japanese philosophy. It’s nice.
@alchemygal3285 ill check it out!
I am really looking forward to hearing the rest of this series, in whatever format it’s done! Thank you for your excellent content
Appreciate that so much!
And she even quotes much later Christian authors who are incensed by believers who actually believe that God has a physical body, showing that the belief WAS real and persisted among some even into the Christian era!
thanks! Putting writing in the context of the times, culture, and language brings the best interpretation.
This was my experience too. I was never indoctrinated as a child, and I was always very interested in fantasy fiction and mythology.
When I finally got around to reading the Bible for myself, I was like, "yeah, this is all just the same shit."
Like, it still kind of baffles me that grown adults can take this fairy tale nonsense literally, when they so readily dismiss essentially identical legends from other cultures out of hand.
Great beginning. I love Francesca, do the 15.
Thank you much!
I’m at the edge of my seat. Can’t wait for more! Thank you so much for your content. It’s truly changing lives.
Super excited for this one! I vote 15 smaller videos so they are more focused
Thank you much!
Every video you make is so enjoyable. I think you shouldn't rush this, because time only makes your videos better. So I'd prefer a chapter by chapter analysis of the book.
Love that advice. Thanks!
Ha. No doubt. Its so good. Glad you are enjoying it.
I cannot verbalize how excited I am for this series, I don’t care how you format it, I’m PUMPED to see the historical context for this god we have almost completely rewritten today. I’ve got to get this book!
Thanks, Maddie! Love the enthusiasm so much. If you do get the book, I’ve got links in the description
I’m looking forward to this series! Thank you for all the different videos you make. They really help apostates like me.
So glad to hear it and my absolute pleasure!
Thanks for the video, I look forward to the continuation of the book. Each chapter is enough to mull over each time so take as long as is necessary to complete the project.
Sounds good. Thanks!
