VoicePlay added the rap section to the original. Vikings meeting in the great halls of jarls and kings sometimes arranged what's called 'flyting'. A ritualistic duell, exchanging rythmic insults etc. Not so unlike a modern rap battle.

Hello my friend! So glad you did this one after MMTM - you can see how far they have come in 2 years! As others have said, the costumes and makeup are basically the same as in that one, Eli did the amazing 3D backgrounds again - but this time they rented a VR studio with huge LED screen walls, so they saw what we did - and it must have been tough, as the studio AC was down, and they were in 90 degree Florida heat in all that fur! 😄

Awesome reaction as always. This is an amazingly beautiful song and video. They decided to bring back the same characters as My Mother Told Me for this video. The only difference is Cesar instead of Jose Rosario Jr. But same costume and makeup. This was filmed at Vü Studios Orlando. They have LED screens that cover all the walls. Eli designed the ones in this. The AC was broken so they had to film all day in those heavy costumes. Their makeup artist, Rick Underwood had to keep patting off the sweat and reapplying their makeup. But like the true vikings they are forged on. The things they go through for their videos is outstanding. That's why I love being on their Patreon and being able to watch their behind the scenes videos. I never realized what all goes into doing 4+ minute videos until I started watching theirs and Geoff's. And thank you for the shout-outs you do for me and everyone else. We all very much appreciate it. It feels good to see my name on screen. Or even heard.

Before they called VoicePlay they Called 4tofive which if watch the song Just Sing with Sub-titles on it says with some the singers they bring in. Also the ft Scott they bring in with the Halo game theme explain a little about too at the end of that song. You don't have react ti but I do think you should look at Geoff channel about his wife Kathy hearing Loss. Great reaction as always

The way I like to think of My Mother Told Me and Valhalla Calling is My Mother Told Me is the dream shared by young boys/girls while Valhalla Calling is the fulfillment of the dream and now it's time to receive the honors you've earned in battle. Since you already have a pirate hate time to explore Voiceplay's Pirate songs starting with Hoist the Colours, then Wellerman and Yo Ho (a Pirates Life). The last is a mini, so you might want to combine it with two to three other minis. You might have fun watching Trapped by Billie Eilish in 3 min, Panic at the Disc in 4 minutes (parts1 & 2), and Queen in 5 minutes. When watched in this order it tells a story 😊

I thoght I heard you call this an original song but in fact this is a cover with the addition of a rap section. The original was by Miracle of Sound. Forgive me if I misheard or misunderstood. As far as I know VoicePlay have only ever done covers. They don't have the time to actually compose a full song. I had to laugh when you said you were Norwegian - no, Swedish. Hahahaha. I'm not sure where Mr. Trivia got his trivia, but he should double-check his sources - they're not very accurate. While the group of singers who formed VoicePlay changed their name to that in 2012, the group was originally founded in 1997 with the name 4:2:Five (there were originally 4 members, and then they changed to 5 members). They're the oldest of the 3 big a cappella groups (VoicePlay, Home Free, Pentatonix) by several years - Home Free began in 2002, and Pentatonix in 2011. There are still 2 members from the original group of singers in VoicePlay - Layne Stein, the beatboxer/vocal percussionist/baritone, and Geoff Castellucci, the bass. Valhalla Calling isn't a VoicePlay original. I'm not sure they actually have any originals, although their medleys might be considered sort-of-originals - while the individual songs aren't original, the arrangements are original. Valhalla Calling was written by a singer/songwriter who goes by the stage name Miracle of Sound, and was used in the video game Assassin's Creed: Valhalla. Not sure what song Mr. Trivia was talking about from 2017, but Valhalla Calling wasn't even written until 2020, and the VoicePlay version was recorded in 2023. So give Mr. Trivia a couple of whacks with your pirate hat, and tell him to do a little better next time!
