Thanks for watching everyone! I appreciate the support. If you felt the video slow down slightly in certain spots, you weren’t imagining it. I noticed it too. Out of my control and can’t do anything about it, but makes me want to look into my connectivity for sure! Just know I wouldn’t purposefully do that lol. Onto the next one!
They out do themselves every time! I cannot stop watching this, it is amazing!! Geoff hits 3 B0's! Eli has become the Asgardian god of rock, Layne is a beatboxing god, Cesar has become a Berserker, and J None has shown us that rap indeed belongs in acapella! And Miracle of Sound gave this 10 out of 10 raised ale horns!! Great reaction! This from the Assasins Creed Valhalla video game, but that rap is all J None!!
I don't know why people keep saying that. I don't think my ears are a lot more finely tuned than most other people's, but it's very obvious that it's not a single note. He goes up a few steps twice, going back down after the first time, and going straight into his verse after the second time. Even given that the bassline and his verse are probably separate takes, that's still more impressive than just holding a single note that long.
@@His_Butterfly_RoseI think the note change may be from switching from breathing out to breathing in. One continuous "note" different tone changes. I'm just guessing though.
Sometimes Voiceplay does a cover that I have never heard, never heard of, don't think I care..... I always love it, whatever it is. I always keep closed captions on, I would never have understood the rap otherwise. They did Creep, it is wonderful. The one coming in August - totally different. You will love it! Trust me.
I get chills every time during the rap session (and I don’t care for rap) when the rhythm changes and the guys back it up with “This Is War”! Since you are a creative guy, I thought I would add a little tidbit: this was not done with green screen. Eli, the tech wizard, designed all of the backgrounds in Unreal Engine which is used in video games and in television to create digital backgrounds. They filmed this in a studio with full wall sized LED screens. The only real things besides the guys are the table and benches!! And Layne did an amazing job beatboxing- he even did the creaky door!! Also the air conditioning broke down on a 90+ degree day in Florida and they’re all wearing multiple layers of leather and fur! Talk about dedication ! If you can, try and reserve a little time on Friday for the one they’re going to be dropping. It is pirates with Jose again but I totally different vibe. A former bandmate of theirs is an additional featured artist, but most of the time he has his head on the table🍺💤🍻
Thank you, Chris! I love watching reactions to Valhalla calling. It's epic from makeup to music. I'm glad you enjoyed it too! You may need to add "dumplings" to your biscuit praise of music. I mean, what's better than biscuits & dumplings?
Great reaction Chris. Geoff Castellucci will be releasing his new video August 11th. Voiceplay will be releasing their new video August 18th. Both are awesome in their own way.
@@parkerbrown-nesbit1747 Yes it did. Folsom Prison Blues by Johnny Cash. Geoff shows off a few new talents we didn't know he had. He rented a whole prison for it.
In their next video, Voiceplay are once again seafaring men. But that one is as funny as this one is epic. A couple days ago, Geoff said it would premier in two weeks.
Love your enjoyment. The boys definitely got their inner maniacs loose in this one. Yep. The face. The two reactor looks I love are from when Geoff sings this and from when he sings the line "when you see me coming...better step aside..." in 16 Tons. Haven't seen anyone that doesn't pull back a bit 🤣 Sympathize on the slow vid - I'm watching from another country, and sometimes I swear I'm back on 14K, watching each frame load 🙄😁
Some fun information for you: 1) Valhalla Calling was inspired by Assassin's Creed: Valhalla and Eivor. 2) Geoff held that first B0 subharmonic about 15 seconds beneath the verse (he holds another about 12 seconds later on under the rap), as well as singing several A1, F#1, and E1 subs and chest notes. 3) Eli was throwing incredible D5s and B5s around as if they were nothing! 4) Layne's vocal percussion, including the "breathing" and the creaky door opening are totally on point. 5) The rap lyrics were written by Alfredo Austin. You can always find the credits for their videos (and Geoff's) in the descriptions. 6) This was not shot on green screen. It was shot in a volume studio (like the one used for The Mandalorian) with a 155 foot wide, 26 foot tall LED screen, using Eli's Unreal Engine animated set designs. This allows the "set" to track with the camera's movement, making it seem as if the guys are actually on an elaborate film set. 7) The air conditioning at the studio wasn't working, so they were very sweaty Vikings LOL 8) Rick Underwood and Renette Feren did an amazing job recreating the My Mother Told Me makeups for the characters, with some added touches. The runes on Cesar's face and Geoff's arm say VoicePlay. The rune on Eli's forearm and J's face (as it was in My Mother Told Me) is the Norse word rune for music, tónlist. The way it is displayed on J's face is reminiscent of the Assassin's Creed: Valhalla character Sigurd Styrbjornson. Geoff had tónlist on his upper arm for MMTM. 9) Several MMTM costume pieces were repurposed for this shoot. One example: Cesar is wearing the robe José used.
I'm so glad I read your comment about the video slowing down. I've heard this song a billion and one times and I was like "wait a minute this song is NOT that slow." I actually thought you were playing it on half speed or something. Also, apparently these boys have to show that they can do all the things so yes of course Geoff is gonna sustain a super low note (I believe a sub) for an inhuman amount of time, Eli's gonna rock scream his heart out, sweet Cesar is gonna kill someone, Layne is going to be every instrument in existence and, oh yeah, J None is gonna drop bars. This group....WHAT?! Then again, they wouldn't be my favorite if they didn't do what they're doing
Metal scream, 😃go Eli, Viking Rapp, 😏drop those bars J. None, notes from the deep, deep caverns, 🤨earthquake Jeff does it again. If they didn't get your blood pumping, check your pulse, there may be a problem. On point reaction Chris!
Chris... genuinely curious question here: are you speeding up and slowing down the video as you're watching/reacting to it? It seemed to be that the speed was varying at many points, and I wasn't sure if that was to do with your internet bandwidth (and therefore something that was just happening independently of your input) or you have some sort of whizzy software that can vary the speed, and you were just slowing down your favourite bits to make them last longer. 😀It wasn't a huge variation, but enough that I know I wasn't imagining it.
No, for some reason, it was doing that on this video because I noticed it too. Out of my control, but makes me want to look into my connectivity for sure!
"I can't even make it to a minute." Don't worry, you're all good. Geoff's low notes shake us all, even knowing they are coming. This was my first VoicePlay song, and I was NOT prepared, so I did a major double take. XD Addition: I have since learned more, and that the group often has little storylines in the background of the videos. The way I have always seen this one was the lone Viking (J.None) starts off "fighting" on his own (Performing with the Navy), but is always welcome back with his clan (VoicePlay) who will fight by his side if he needs them. Addition 2: Heh, J.None even starts off facing a bunch of ships. Navy reference much?
I'm shocked that I haven't seen your reaction to Valhalla until now. My bad! Better late than never, as YOU said! I HAVE to ask... did you lower the speed just slightly in your editing the first time for "Valhalla Calling Me" right before the camara shake? I could swear it slowed briefly. After your comments, when you re-started, it was 'normal.' Weird. I enjoy your reactions! Great job on this one!
I had some tech issues during a batch of recordings, and this was one of them, so you were correct in realizing the slight speed changes. Thanks for the support regardless!!

It's said that Geoff held that note for 15 seconds. Just Breath you're going to be OK. Geoff and VoicePlay both have new videos coming out SOON!

We apologize for the earlier video. For some reason, the video didnt completely upload so we are trying again. Thank you for your patience
1:38 Subharmonic B0 sustained for 15 secs(through the first half of the verse/til he starts singing)
Even woth the tech issues...loved seeing you react. They are so freaking awesome! Keep doing VoicePlay!!

Why is this video being played at 80 percent speed?

What on earth is up with your video playback? It seems to randomly speed up and slow down, making it sound like VoicePlay can't keep a steady tempo.
I noticed it too! Obviously, Voiceplay can keep a steady tempo lol
oh man... i would love to watch this reaction, but the constant changing of the playback tempo sadly is SO annoying that i cant watch it xD

Why was the tempo slowed down?
I was having some tech issues in this batch of recordings.
is it just me or is the pacing of the sound a bit out of rythm?
Yes, you would be correct ha
