- My first reaction to the season finale of Percy Jackson and the Olympians, episode 1x8! This was a great first season IMO and I really hope we get to continue this journey! Thanks to all who watched along with me 💕

In the books, it started as Percy asking what foods were blue and Gabe going on about how there aren't any blue foods. In defiance, Sally made a point to make all of Percy's food blue to prove Gabe wrong.
I love how the deadline passing came full circle with Poseidon needing to save Percy from Zeus. Not only did that connect with Sally's scene from ep7, but it also gave Percy reason to side with the gods. He got to see proof that not all of them are terrible parents, whereas Luke is still hurting from things he perceives to be Hermes' fault. Sometimes it's worth it to wait to see how book changes pan out - I actually liked what they did here better than how the book handled the Olympus scene
Also RIP Lance, he was phenomenal as Zeus ❤
Even the Nereid is Percy’s sister (because she calls him “brother” in episode 4).
This is extremely important to talk about how Poseidon shows love to his wayward children, as well as his outcast children. Next season is going to be very dramatic, family-wise.
Kronos wants to use half bloods, whereas the gods mostly want to let their kids do their own thing. Like helicopter parenting versus free rein parenting.
For Poseidon to gave up is a very big deal. Gods value their pride very much and him surrendering to save Percy's... Others wont forget that. They'll see how much he loves Percy.

Percy’s greatest strength and weakness is that he just keeps talking even when people warn his ass to shut up.
percy wouldn't have died from getting dragged into tartarus, the point was to safely deliver the bolt and percy to kronos. and kronos wants to recruit percy as well.
From a plot standpoint I get it, but I still wouldn't trust being in a Gods graveyard with m*rderous ole Granpappy lol
Wow, what a wonderful series. As a long term fan, I enjoyed it immensely. And watching it alongside you has been a gift too; you quickly became one of my favorite PJO reactors thanks your level head, wit, and sense of perspective. I'm praying to the gods that we get another season, because I won't survive if we don't 😭
She makes blue pancakes in the book. They both like blue food, thus the blue candy as well.
Also it was done as a somewhat get back at Gabe because he said that there’s no blue foods
Luke is currently the strongest swordsmen at camp so it’s saying a lot that Percy could hold his own for a little bit.
He left because he still cares about Annabeth so he didn’t want to hurt her. I personally wish Luke and Annabeth had some scenes together before this to show their friendship more.
She is a good fighter but would definitely lose against Luke. She us a prodigy of the Athena cabin but Luke is a prodigy from the Hermes cabin.
Hermes is also the god of Athletes , which likely helps Luke’s swordsmanship.
yeah, the inmortals in Greek mythology bleed a golden blood called ichor. Its incredibly toxic to mortals tho
Also, if you look at a god in their true form, you'll be vaporized immediately. Thats what happened to Dionysus's mortal mother. She looked at Zeus's true form and was incinerated.
I still feel like someone could bottle that Godsblood and sell it or something 🤣🤣

Just to ease your mind.. your audio with a microphone is discernibly better, but alternate mic was fine and not too distracting. Love that you have an audio backup! I want to thank you for your Percy reactions. I've never read the books or watched the film. I so enjoyed your reactions and thoughts. I think your after reaction thoughts knocked it out of the park this episode. Looking forward to checking out more of your backlog along with your current reactions.
Agreed about the mic. I legit forgot about it after a bit until it was turned back on near the end and I remembered "Oh yeah, that is better."

The god's true form thing is based on the actual greek/roman myth that if a human looks directly at a god they will be burnt to a crisp, very dangerous stuff! Also for the blue food, it was an inside joke between Percy and Sally in the books that Gabe has once said that blue food doesn't exist, and since then Sally made sure to have some blue food here and there just to spite his ass, like the blue candies in ep1.
In the books, Sally kills Gabe deliberately and sells his statue to an art gallery. Then she uses the money to pay for writing school. 🥰
Haha yeah I feel like the show toned him down from being a complete waste of skin to mostly annoying
Idris Elba would be an excellent recast as Zeus
Keith David would be pretty good, too. (Only partially because the Gargoyles fan in me would enjoy the idea of Goliath's voice living on top of a skyscraper in New York... again)
My other choice was Andre Braugher but he also recently passed away 😢 but I agree with Keith David too
